Over the Caribbean Sea, the bio ship was flying with everyone inside. This was their first official mission.

Miss Martian: We're approaching Santa Prisca.

[Flashback]

Batman calls everyone together to send them on their first official mission. Batman brings up a map before briefing the team.

Batman: Isla Santa Prisca. This island nation is the primary source of a dangerous and illegal neo-steroid, a strength enhancing drug sold under the street sold under the name "Venom". Infared heat signatures indicate their factory is still operating at full capacity but all shipments of venom have been inexplicably cut off. That's where this team comes in. This is a covert recon mission only. Observe and report. If the Justice League needs to intervene, it will. The plan requires two drop zones. 

Robin: So who's in charge?

Batman and Red Tornado look at each other before looking back at the team.

Batman: Work that out between yourselves.

Miss Martian: Drop Zone A in 30.

Aqualad gets up and presses the button on his belt turning his costume from red and black to grey and black.

Aqualad: Ready. 

Miss Martian: Putting Bio-ship in camouflage mode.

The bio-ship turns invisible as it flies closer to the island. A hole opens in the Bio-ship underneath Aqualad and he dives into the water and swims at incredible speed dodging underwater mines and used his water bearers to form a sword and cut through the net that was there.

He jumped up onto shore and ran towards two sensors then placed a device next to it.

Aqualad: *through comms* Heat and motion sensors are patched. Data is now on continuous loop. Move in.

The Bio-ship then flies to the second drop zone deeper in the island and in the forest.

Miss Martian: Drop zone B.

Everyone stands up and ropes descend from the ceiling and Kid, Robin and Y/n attach them to themselves. Kid presses his emblem and it turns his suit from Yellow and red to black and red. 

Y/n pressed the 10 badge on his jacket and hit jacket turned black and white instead of green and white and turned his pants dark green.

Kid: *to Miss Martian* How cool is this?

Miss Martian: Very impressive.

Miss Martian shapeshifts her costume from white and red with a blue cape and a skirt to a black and red jumpsuit with a hoodie cape.

Kid: Uh, that works too. *to Superboy* Hey Supey, not too late to put on the new stealth tech.

Superboy: *crosses arms* No capes, no tights. No offense.

Miss Martian: *flirtatiously to Superboy* Totally works for you... in that you can totally to good work in those clothes. *thumbs up*

A hole in the Bio-ship opened and Kid, Robin, Y/n and Miss Martian went through it. Superboy just jump through it and landed making a crater in the ground.

Superboy: *smiles* Knew I didn't need a line.

Robin: And yet creating a seismic event may not have helped us much with the covert.

Miss Martian: *through comms* Aqualad, drop B is go.

Aqualad: Head for the factory. I'll track your GPS and rendezvous ASAP.

Robin: Roger that.

The team starts moving and heads towards the factory. Superboy hears something with his super hearing.

Superboy: Did you hear that?

Kid: Uh, no. Wait is this a super hearing thing?

Miss Martian: *to Superboy* You do have great ears. 

Y/n: Okay, Rob, what do we do?

Y/n turned around to see that Robin who was just infront of him was gone.

Y/n: Man, I hate it when he does that.

Aqualad: Superboy, Kid, switch to infared. See if your being tracked.

Kid pulls over his goggles and switches them to Thermal mode and sees an armed squad.

Kid: Got a squad of armed bozos incoming.

Superboy used his X-ray vision to see into the forest.

Superboy: Two squads. But they'll meet each other before they find us.

Suddenly gunfire was heard.

Kid: No super hearing required now.

Aqualad: Swing wide, steer clear.

Kid: Yeah, yeah, just soon as I find Rob.

Kid jumps over a log and speeds off. At some point he slips and rolls down the hill and lands in between the firing squads. A man in a luchador mask was about to fire on Kid but a orange dog-like creature came in and saved Kid from being riddled with bullets.

Superboy ran up and tackled the man in the luchador mask but he got countered and his face got put in the ground. Superboy overpowered the masked man and pushed him into a tree. Wildmutt jumped through the trees dodging bullets with his speed and agility.

Then Robin dropped above two goons and attacked them.

Robin: What's wrong with you guys? Remember covert? Why didn't you follow my lead, vanish into the jungle.

Kid punched a goon rapidly before kicking him away.

Kid: That's what you were doing? Way to fill us in. We're not mind readers you know.

 As if on cue, Miss Martian threw three goons into a tree with telekinesis right beside Kid.

Kid: Er, I'm not anyway.

Miss Martian: You told me I could only read the bad guys' mind.

One of the goons tried to run away but Aqualad jumped infront of him and placed his hand on his chest and shocking him knocking him out cold. Aqualad then stomped on his radio destroying it.

The goons were all tied up and Robin recognized some of their uniforms.

Robin: I recognize these uniforms. They belong to the cult of the Kobra.

Aqualad:  I am certain Batman would have mentioned it if he knew a dangerous extremist was running Santa Prisca's venom operation.

Robin: Agreed. And since there's clearly no love lose between the cultists and those goons I'm betting Kobra came in and tossed them out. That's why normal supply lines have been cut off.

Kid: We get it. Kobra wanted super cultists. Mystery solved, and we'll be in home in time for-

Robin: These cultists aren't on venom. Kobra's hoarding the stuff. We don't leave. Not until I know why.

Kid: Until you know why?

Robin: This team needs a leader.

Kid: *points at Robin* And it's you? Dude, you're a 13 year old kid who ducked out on us without a word.

Robin: *laughs* And you're a mature 15? You blew our cover first chance you got?

Miss Martian: *to Wildmutt and Superboy* Do either of you want to lead?

Wildmutt growled and shook his head.

Superboy: *shakes head and scoffs* You?

Miss Martian: After the Mister Twister fiasco?

Superboy: *smiles* You did alright.

Miss Martian blushes at what Superboy said. Suddenly, Superboy and Wildmutt hear Bane speaking Spanish to one of the goons. Superboy looks down at Wildmutt who was looking up at Superboy and he smirks at the orange dog.

Kid: Yeah? You don't even have superpowers!

Robin: Neither does Batman!

Kid: Duh, you're not Batman.

Robin: Duh, closest thing we've got.

Bane: *chuckles* Such clever ninos. But you only know half the story. Let me show you the rest get you into my factory via my secret entrance.

Miss Martian: *reads Bane's mind* There is a secret entrance but he's also hiding something.

Miss Martian's eyes turn white trying to dive deeper into Bane's mind.

Bane: Ah, ah, ah chica. Bane is not that easy.

Miss Martian: He's mentally reciting football scores en Español. This could take a while.

Bane: It's not that complicated. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Aqualad nods and Wildmutt cuts Bane free with his claws.

Inside the factory, a cultist was approaching Kobra.

Cultist: Sublime master, he approaches.

Kobra: Activate the radio jamming net. Nothing must interfere.

The cultist bowed before walking off.

Bane led the team up a hill where they got a view of the factory. Robin used his binoculars and saw all the product that was being moved.

Robin: Look at all that product. A buy is going down. But if Kobra's not selling to the usual suspects, then-

Aqualad: We need to identify that buyer.

Kid: Just what I was thinking. 

Robin: *sarcastic tone* Yeah, you're the thinker.

Kid: Sarcasm? Dude. A real leader would focus on getting answers.

Bane lifts a giant rock revealing a secret entrance.

Bane: Answers are this way.

Kid: So now, El Luchador is our leader.

Robin elbows Kid before heading inside. Everyone follows Bane until he reaches a door and he opens is with his thumb print. Robin looks through the door to check for enemies.

Robin: All clear.

Robin ran off and disappeared.

Bane: Has that little fool already been caught?

Y/n: No, he just does that.

Kid: Stay put. I'll get our intel and be back before the Boy Wonder. 

With that said Kid ran off.

Bane: Great chain off command.

A batarang hits a computer and releases a gas knocking out one of the cultists. Robin pushes him out of the seat before sitting down and started hacking the computer.

Y/n, Bane, Miss Martian, Superboy and Aqualad were hiding behind a crate watching the cultist move the venom.

Aqualad: It's a massive shipment.

Superboy: Yeah, but they're only taking new product off the line. They're touching this venom.

Miss Martian: Maybe freshness counts?

Superboy hears helicopters coming towards the island.

Superboy: Helicopters coming.

Kid speeds into the room Robin was in eating a granola bar.

Kid: What you got?

Robin: Chemical formulas. I'm guessing it involves venom, but...

Kid: *points to screen* This one is venom, and that one's-whoa. The blockbuster formula from Cadmus. Mixed correctly, Kobra's new juice is three times stronger than venom...and permanent. But how did Kobra get access to project Blockbuster?

Robin: Our mystery buyer must also be Kobra's supplier! Using the cult to create a blockbuster venom super formula. *through comms* Robin to Aqualad, we got... static.

Outside the factory, Kobra and his subordinates were waiting outside as the helicopter landed on the ground. A man with blonde hair and a mask came out of the helicopter and walked towards Kobra. 

???: Lord Kobra.

Kobra: Sportsmaster. The shipment is ready.

A girl with orange hair and wearing a crop top brought over a box and opened it revealing vials of a purple fluid. Sportsmaster picked one up and inspected it.

Sportsmaster: The new Kobra Venom?

Kobra: *gestures to Mammoth* A complete success. Our friends will not be disappointed.

Sportsmaster: This is a game changer. Finally, we can go mano-a-mano with the Justice League.

Miss Martian was floating above them invisible watching them.

Miss Martian: (Aqualad, sending you a telepathic image of the buyer now.)

Miss Martian's eyes glow white and an image of Sportsmaster appears in Aqualad's head.

Aqualad: Sportsmaster. He is the buyer? *through comms* Aqualad to Red Tornado. Do you read? Ugh. Can't reach the League, Robin or Kid. Comm's jammed. We need a plan, now.

Bane: I have a suggestion.

Bane jumped over the railing and attacked two cultists causing gunfire. Mammoth jumped through the glass crashing onto the platform Superboy, Y/n and Aqualad were standing on.

Kobra: Destroy them!

Superboy dashed at Mammoth and the cultists started firing at Y/n and Aqualad.  Aqualad made a shield out of one of his water bearers and shot at the cultists with the other. 

Y/n slammed down on the Omnitrix not looking into what alien he turn into.

Fourarms: *looks at himself* Good enough.

Fouarms looks over to see Superboy fighting Mammoth. Fourarms ran over and shoulder bashed Mammoth making crash into a wall. Superboy and Fourarms get into fighting stances as the beast gets back up.

Miss Martian flies into the factory still invisible and starts throwing cultists with her telekinesis. Sportsmaster analyzes the situation and takes out a spear and throws it at Miss Martian. She dodges but it exploded. Some cultists flanked Aqualad but Kid sped over and knocked them over.

Aqualad: Miss Martian, radio is jammed! Link us up!

Miss Martian closed her eyes and linked everyone up.

Miss Martian: (Everyone online?)

Fourarms & Superboy: (Yeah.)

Kid: (You know it, beautiful.)

Aqualad: Good. We need to regroup.

Robin: (Busy now.)

Fourarms: (With what?)

Robin didn't respond and landed outside infront of Kobra.

Kobra: Batman must be desperate if he sends his whelp to task me.

Robin: What's wrong Koby? You look disconcerted.

Kobra: This is beneath me. Shimmer, take him.

Shimmer runs towards Robin and tries to punch him but he simply flips over her. Robin smirks and gets into a fighting stance.

Aqualad: (Robin, now!)

Shimmer runs at Robin again but the boy wonder throws down a flash grenade blinding Shimmer. When the light died down Robin was gone.

Back in the factory Aqualad hit three cultists with a water whip.

Aqualad: (Strategic retreat. Kid, clear a path.)

Kid speeds off and knocked out four cultists and Robin, Aqualad and Miss Martian follow behind him. Superboy and Fourarms are still fighting Mammoth. Superboy uppercuts Mammoth in the air and Fourarms jumped.

Fourarms: He shoots... he scores.

Fourarms slammed Mammoth into the ground knocking him and some cultists into the ground. Superboy and Fourarms run through the door and Superboy closes it making it lock. They all start running as Mammoth burst through the door and the cultists started shooting at them.

Aqualad: Superboy, Fourarms, the support beams!

Superboy and Fourarms destroy the support beams closest to them causing the tunnel to collapse and block off the path making the cultists and Mammoth unable to follow. Aqualad lit up the tunnel with a glowstick as Fourarms timed out and returned to normal.

Robin: How could my first mission as leader go so wrong?

Aqualad: You do have the most experience. But perhaps that is what left you unprepared. Fighting alongside Batman, your roles are defined. You two do not need to talk. But this team is new. And a leader must be clear, explicit. He cannot vanish and expect others to play parts in an unknown plan.

Robin: *raises voice and turns to Aqualad* Oh, so I'm supposed to hold everyone's hand. *groans* Ah, who am I kidding? You should lead us, Kaldur. You're the only one who can.

Kid: Please! I can run circles-

Robin: Wally, come on. You know he's one. We all do.

Y/n 10: It was pretty obvious.

Miss Martian: Hello Megan. It's so obvious.

Superboy: Could have told you.

Everyone looks at Kid to hear his answer.

Kid: *smiles* Okay.

Aqualad: *to Robin* Then I accept the burden until you are ready to lift it from my shoulders. You were born to lead this team, maybe not now, but soon.

Robin nods his head before Aqualad turns to everyone else.

Aqualad: Alright, out first priority is preventing that shipment from leaving the island.

Robin: Funny. I had the same thought.

On the helipad, Sportsmaster is in the helicopter trying to get it to start but it just made stuttering sounds.

Sportsmaster: Sabotage. Robin?

Kobra: Undoubtedly. *to Shimmer* Find the problem. Fix it. 

Shimmer bows before walking off and a cultist and Mammoth walk towards Kobra and Sportsmaster.

Cultist: Master, shall we send search parties after the intruders?

Kobra: Don't be absurd. They'll come to us.

The team ran through the tunnel as Robin looked at the H.U.D. on his glove.

Robin: Sportsmaster's the buyer/supplier. But it still doesn't track. He doesn't have the juice to acquire the blockbuster formula or to get Kobra to do his dirty work.

Kid: And neither of them have the chops to bond blockbuster with venom. 

Y/n 10: That would take some major nerdage.

Aqualad: I believe the expression is "tip of the iceberg".

When they reach the end of the tunnel they see a larger and more muscular Bane at the exit. He had a trigger in his hand.

Bane: Halt, ninos. I'm feeling explosive.

Aqualad: *looks up at bombs* You betrayed us. Why?

Bane: I want my factory back.

Aqualad: (Kid, you'll need a running start.)

Bane: So I forced you into a situation where you would either take down my enemies or die trying. If the latter, the Justice League would certainly have come to avenge their sidekicks. And when the smoke cleared Santa Prisca would be mine once more. Blowing the tunnel with you inside should have the same effect.

Bane pressed the trigger but Kid ran past him and took it before he did.

Kid: With what? This trigger thingy?

Bane tried to punch Kid but Miss Martian lifted him up in the air.

Superboy: Finally. *to Miss Martian* Drop him.

Miss Martian dropped Bane and Superboy gave him an uppercut him knocking him out.

The helicopter was up and running once again and they continued to load the product.

Cultist: The helicopter is operational, exalted one. *bows* 

Sportsmaster walks towards the helicopter when Kid ran by and knocked out several cultists.

Kobra: *to Sportsmaster* Take the shipment!

Sportsmaster headed towards the helicopter. Superboy landed infront of Mammoth who growled at him.

Superboy: Go again?

Mammoth growled and charged towards Superboy but got blasted away by Aqualad using water from a water tower.

Superboy: Sorry not the plan.

Sportsmaster came from around the helicopter and began shooting Superboy while trying to get into the helicopter. As Sportsmaster was doing this he saw a large figure running towards him on all fours knocking out cultists. The large figure had orange fur, two razor sharp claws and looked like a tiger.

Rath: LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHIN! RATH IS GONNA-

Rath jumped in the air and was gonna land towards Sportsmaster but got shot out of the sky.

Kid runs by and punches one of the cultists in the face stealing his mask.

Kid: Souvenir.

Shimmer was tied up and Kobra looked to the side to see that it was Robin.

Robin: I know you hate getting your hands dirty.

Kobra: True. But sometimes, even a God must stoop to conquer.

Kobra took of his robe and Robin charged towards him. Robin tried to knee Kobra in the face but it got blocked.  He then tried to sweep Kobra's leg but Kobra simply lifted it. Robin tried to kick Kobra in the face but Kobra caught it and kicked the boy wonder away.

Kobra: What's wrong boy? You look disconcerted.

Superboy jumps into the air and smashes the ground sending a shockwave towards the cultists knocking them out. Kid knocks out three cultists and Mammoth was still getting pushed back by Aqualad before getting electrocuted and falls to the ground.

Sportsmaster was shooting at Rath but the large orange tiger was dodging the bullets and was getting closer to Sportsmaster. 

Sportsmaster: Thanks for the workout, but I got to fly.

Sportsmaster throws a flash grenade at Rath blinding the alien and Sportsmaster flew off in the helicopter. Rath got his vision back and saw that Sportsmaster was getting away. He was about to jump but M'gann stopped him and showed him the trigger for C4. M'gann pressed the button and the helicopter exploded and c Sportsmaster jumped out of the helicopter before it crashed into the factory and landed somewhere in Santa Prisca.

Kobra knocked Robin to the ground and put his foot on his chest.

Kobra: I am plagued by mosquitoes.

Robin: Good, 'cause this mosquito is might concerted over your pain.

Robin then does a backflip and landed right next to the rest of the team.

Kobra: Another time, then.

With that said Kobra backed into the darkness of the forest.

Rath: LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHIN KOBRA, LEADER OF THE CULT OF KOBRA! NOBODY GOES UNLESS SAYS THEY CAN GO! BECAUSE RATH GOES BEFORE EVERYBODY! SO NO GO YO!

Rath runs towards Kobra only to see that he was gone.

Rath: Aw man.

The hourglass symbol on Rath's chest started beeping and flashing red. When the beeping stopped a red light engulfed Rath and he turned back into Y/n.

Robin: *to Aqualad* We picked the right guy to lead. Automatically making you the right guy to explain this mess to Batman. *laughs*

[Timeskip]

It was the next day and the team was getting chewed out by Batman.

Batman: A simple recon mission, observe and report. You'll each receive a written evaluation detailing you many mistakes. Until then...good job.

Everyone was shocked and looked at Batman.

Batman: No battle plan survives first contact with the enemy. How you adjust to see the unforeseen consequences is what determines success. And how you chooses who leads determines character.

Aqualad looked down at Robin and smiled.
