Now , both Athanasia and Athanese can be seen laying down in their stomach and making some drawings.

Athanasia quickly finished her drawing of Felix and lily then gave it to them. Athanese on the other hand was imagining how Diana looked like in the webtoon and was trying draw her.

He was so focused that he didn't notice the conversation Athanasia was having with felix and lily. The only thing that allowed his concentration to come back was when Athanasia asked how did mom look like ...

The atmosphere suddenly dropped

" Nee , nee Athanese ! Why don't you call our father papa like Athy ? "

Athanasia asked curiously. Athanese then gently smiled as he replied

" I am sure his majesty won't like having a pest like me calling him without any formality "

Athanese didn't want to say this but he didn't want to lie to Athanasia so he just spilled what he thought

The sudden gloomy atmosphere got even more gloomier .

" I am sure his majesty would like it if the prince refers to him without any formality "

Felix said as he tried to convince the prince that it is okay to call claude dad

In response , Athanese just smiled back

' hah , Athanasia got to call him papa because she is cute and has the power of plot armor from the webtoon . In the novel , Jenette got to call him without any formality due to her magic and now compare me to them .... I am just a pest '

Athanese thought while humming silently in agreement to his thoughts

" Look , athy I finished my drawing "

Athanese said as he stood up to show Athanasia his drawing.

" Wow , the lady in the picture looks so pretty "

Athanasia said while she admired the drawing of her little brother

" Sir. Felix , Lady lily look ! "

Athanese said as he showed them his drawing. The duos eyes widened as they saw the drawing made by Athanese. His drawing of diana wasn't that accurate but anyone who knows how Diana looks can easily tell who is the lady in the drawing because it looks to familiar despite being sloppily made by four year old

" Do you know who is the pretty lady in
the picture ? "

Athanasia asked

" Ummm , it's mom "

Athanese replied back

" Does mom look like this ? "

Athanasia asked to lily and Felix.

" It isn't hundred percent accurate but she does look like the lady in the picture , your highness "

Lily replied. Athanese just smiled .

" Wow !! Mom looks so pretty "

Athanasia said

" But how did you know how mom looks ? "

Athanasia asked to Athanese

" Hmm let's say instinct "

Athanese replied while smiling . He heard the door opening and saw Rose there waiting for him to finish the schedule he now has to do

Athanese is currently learning how to read and write. He also trains in magic with the help of the mages and he trains on how to use a sword with Rose. He learns about noble etiquette from other nobleman. He spends less time with Athanasia nowadays but she doesn't mind it

" Oh rose is here , I shall take my leave now Princess "

Athanese said as he politely bid goodbye to felix , lily and Athanasia

" I told you to call me Athy "

Athanasia whined and in response Athanese just smiled back and left.

' that little guy , how dare he leave me after he got the atmosphere gloomier '

Athanasia whined mentally and pouted

Felix and lily excused themselves from the room to talk about what they should do and after Athanese left the story flowed just like it had in the chapter.

In short , Felix and lily wanted to ask the Emperor , Athanasia's and Athanese father to show them the picture of diana , their mother but Athanasia protested . Then ladies and gentlemen , I am sure you all who are reading this badly written fanfic are cultured enough to read the original webtoon so I won't have to explain further more

Athanese pov

I am currently learning about how to hold a cup of tea to how to eat . I wonder if it makes any difference with the way we present ourselves. Of course , it doesn't matters how I present myself to others but it surely matters to others.

" Please , show me what I taught you about table manners "

My etiquette teacher , who is ' I am nice to you if you have more status than me ' type of person. So , his personality is what I just described before. He is clearly aware of how I am the less favoured child of the Emperor and thus , I am sure he was concluded teaching me as a waste of oh so precious time and declared me worthless

" Yes teacher "

I said as respectfully as possible. He told the maids to bring tea over here so that I could show what he taught. He is honestly a bad or the worst teacher I have ever seen in with my both life combined.

A maid brought over a tea pot and started to pour the still boiling tea on my cup.

* Splash *

The hot tea splashed on my hand . I am sure she intentionally did it . My hand is burning and honestly none of them care enough to ask about my well being.

After she was done pouring the tea , I picked up the cup of tea with my right hand which is not my dominant hand and used my pinky finger to keep the tea from spilling. The cup is so big and heavy for me to carry with but I still maintained a neutral face .

I took a sniff before I took a sip from the cup of tea .

Ouch !

I hissed in pain as my tongue got burned from the hot tea . I tried to put my cup down and calm my pain but teacher suddenly slams his hands on the table hardly and the hot tea spills over my thigh.

" arghh "

I groaned in pain. I tried to stand up and ask for permission to leave but suddenly I felt someone grab my hand.
I turned my head and saw the scary look of the teacher which scared some years away from my life

" Prince , it seems you have done a mistake "

He said as he pulls out a wand made out of iron. He looks at me and smiles creepily. It feels like he specially got that made for me

" I hope you don't mind the punishment, Athanese "

He said. Oh wow , now he has thrown the formality out of the windows when he is supposed to teach me about the formality. 

I am not even worried about getting hurt because life is not free anyways.

Third person pov

" Bring your hands forward , Athanese"

The etiquette teacher demanded and Athanese without a second brought his hands forward. The teacher smirks as he hardly hits the prince's small hands hardly. He hits him twice on each hand and then proceeds to hit him on the leg.

After some painful minutes passed , Athanese was on the floor slightly trembling from the pain. His arms and legs were bruised horribly. How could this teacher even do something so horrible to a four year old.

The teacher left and shortly after his leave Rose entered the room to say that his schedule has now ended but what left her mouth instead was scream

" YOUR HIGHNESS , what happened ?? The physician , Yes ! I will escort you to the physician to get your wound treated !! Let's go "

Rose said as she hurriedly tried to pick up the prince

" No, let's not go to the physician "

Athanese replied weakly as his vision was now getting blurry.

" But-"

Rose was about to say something but she was quickly interrupted by the Prince

" It's not an request , it's an order "

Athanese replied sternly as he looked at Rose . Athanese was being carried by Rose . Athanese then realized what he just said and quickly apologized

" Ahh , I am sorry for speaking like that to you rose . I am tired and I am sure , I will be fine after a good sleep "

Athanese said and his tone was getting lower and lower. Athanese felt strength leave his body

" Rose , I am gonna sleep-"

Athanese said as he quickly lost consciousness . Rose panicked and hurriedly started running towards his bedroom while carrying him

' why do you treat yourself so horribly !! Why do you treat yourself like you don't matter !! Why !! Why !! Just why ! '

Rose thought as she carried him

In the nearby garden of The ruby palace , Athanasia , lily and Felix were sitting in a awkward silence. Athanasia was about to speak something but her eyes suddenly landed on Rose who was running with a bloodied and bruised Athanese in her arms

The three's eyes widened as they watched rose carrying a injured Athanese. The trio quickly went to Athanese room and when they reached there , they saw Athanese breathing heavily and he had horrible bruise in his limbs.

" What happened "

Felix asked worriedly

" I don't know "

Rose replied

" I will go and call the physician "

Felix stated as he was about to run to get the royal physician but he was stopped by Athanese's words

" Sir.Felix , you don't have to... I will be fine after a good sleep "

Athanese states weakly

" But your highness "

Felix protested but Athanese was no longer conscious. Felix quickly ran to get the royal physician after seeing the horrible condition of the prince

Lily and Athanasia were still overcoming the shock.

" Athanese "

Athanasia said worriedly as she went and sat at the side of his bed holding his hands

' how could someone do something so horrible to my little brother '

Athanasia thought as lily came near her and rose and comforted them

Rose and Athanasia had tears and worry welling up inside them .

" I am sure , his highness will be fine "

Lily assured them as gently as possible.

After some hectic minutes , The royal physician and Felix came running to the prince's room. As soon as the physician arrived , he started treating the prince. He also couldn't help but curse at the person who have harmed the prince

Athanese didn't interact much with the servants but he never disrespected them , he saw all of them as equal human beings which was kind of rare to see in the noble community. So most of the servants had warmed up to Athanese but there are some who see his activity as a show off.

The news didn't reach Claude's ears yet but if will soon reach . After Athanese was done being treated , everyone were relieved that he was okay but had it not been for felix stopping rose , Rose would have slashed the teacher's head off his nape.

During the evening of the same day , felix was by Claude's side . Claude was doing his annoying paper works as usual.

" Felix "

" Yes , your majesty "

Felix replied

" Bring Athanasia and Athanese to the audience room "

Claude ordered

" Yes your majesty "

Felix was about to give him information on Athanese condition but he couldn't since he had promised the prince that he wouldn't do so.

Flashback

It was afternoon , Lily , Athanasia and Rose were now not present in the room to give Athanese some time alone. Athanese had already woke after a hour of the treatment.

Athanese shifted his gaze over felix and Felix immediately noticed it

" Do you need something your highness "

Felix asked

" Sir.Felix can you do me a favour "

Athanese asked a he smiled

" Yes , your highness "

Felix replied

" But just felix is fine , your highness "

Athanese smiled again and replied

" Ok then , Felix I want you to promise me that you won't disclose the information about this situation to his majesty "

" But your highness-"

Felix tried to protest but Athanese interrupted him and he raised his pinky finger to make a promise

" No buts felix , now come here and complete the promise "

Athanese said and Felix walked near the prince's side and gently wrapped his pinky finger with his

" Now the seal for the promise is done , I hope you don't break it Felix "

Athanese said as he smiled childishly .
In response Felix just nodded his head and displayed a sad smile.

Flashback end

' I am sure , athy will meet Roger Alpheus today '

Athanese thought as he was reading a fairy tale book given by athy

The door to Athanese room opened and Felix came inside .

" Your presence has been requested by his majesty , your highness "

Felix said and Athanese was visibly confused

" Me ? "

Athanese asked while pointing his finger towards himself . This little action pained felix's heart as it was completely not normal for a child to assume that spending time with this family is abnormal.

Athanese didn't really understand the concept of father and mother properly as he never really experienced any care or love from his past life's parents.

" Yes your highness "

Felix said as he displayed a pained expression on his face. Athanese checked his attire and decided it was fine to wear this since it covered his bandages and bruise.

Athanese tried to climb down the bed and walk over to felix but because of the wound he was about fall down but instead of a hard floor he was in the warm and firm arms of Felix.

" Ahh , thank you felix "

Athanese said as he smiled

" I will carry you to the audience room "

Felix said as he carried Athanese with his arms and not on the back since it might be uncomfortable for the prince due to his wounds.

When they reached the entrance of the chamber room . Athanese was nervous so he just hid his face against felix nape. This was unlike how Athanese usually was but after getting treated he got light headed and just assume that he is drunk yet not drunk.

Felix was quite surprised by the sudden change in Athanese's behavior but he found it quite adorable to be honest.

When they entered the room , they saw Athanasia playing with Claude's hair while he was sleeping. Athanese just smiled at the adorable scene.

" Is his majesty asleep ? "

Felix asked

" Yes "

Athanasia replied inside the rest room beside the throne. The curtains were on so Athanasia didn't know Athanese was there too.

On the request of Athanese , felix just carried Athanese and stood beside the small resting room on the back of the throne.

' you also belong there , with your family .... Your highness '

Felix thought with a pained expression on his face. Athanese couldn't see Felix's face as he was now burying his face on his chest.

Athanasia then apologize for pushing felix and Felix just hugged the prince as he found it comfortable for both him and the prince.

" To be honest , I too at an early age although not as early as the prince and the princess lost my mother "

Felix stated

" my mother was his majesty's nanny and in fact we both were breastfed by my mother "

Felix continued

' that's why claude is so lenient with felix '

Athanasia thought

" When I was young I was always a little angry with my mother . She always spent alot of time with his majesty than she did with me. So when my mother passed away , at first I would even say I didn't miss her at all and to be honest I never really missed my mother . When she was alive i spent very little time with her so I never really felt her absence "

Felix stated

" But one day very much by chance , the embroidery on a handkerchief I always carried around.... What I meant to say is..... My mother had personally embroided  my name on this handkerchief and one day , I was suddenly fixated on it .... And to my disbelief I was even crying. The mother I had resented so much up to then. The person I though as simply an image was someone I truly missed "

Felix said and Athanese just listened not making any sound.

Mother

Mother is a foreign concept for Athanasia since she was a orphan in her past life . After hearing such a personal story from felix , Athanasia decided to tell him how she feels

" When I said I didn't want to see mommy yesterday , Athy was lying. Even though Athanese did his best and drew me a picture of mommy , Athy still wanted to see mommy "

Athanasia said.

" Is that so "

Felix replied. Athanese was just staying unmoving in felix's arm and he just pretended he didn't exist because he felt really awkward listening to such personal story and feeling. He felt that he is violating their privacy.

" Does princess Athanasia have a wish"

Felix asked

" A wish ? "

Athanasia asked

" Something you think that if it happen , it would be nice "

Felix explained

" That papa and Athanese like Athy as much as she loves them "

Athanasia replied. In response Felix just chuckled.

' claude will like and care for you soon in the future and for now , I am sure he will start caring even more ... After reading the manhwa of this chapter I am sure claude is awake and slightly listening to this conversation so Athy will see diana in her dreams given to her by Claude ... I think... '

Athanese thought while just stayed in felix's arms unmoving. After some minutes , the sound of peaceful breathing filled the throne room. After Athanasia and Claude were asleep. Athanese sighed in relief

" Can you take me to my chamber felix ? "

Athanese asked in small voice

" But-"

Felix tried to protest but again our dearest prince interrupted him

" We shouldn't disturb his majesty and the princess . Now , let's go "

Athanese said and in response Felix sighed . When felix was about to take a step to leave a voice filled with authority interrupted them

" Who said you could leave "

Claude said

' EEEK ! oh my goodness .....he scared some years away from my life.'
