The most annoying topic - Clay

Clay is the eldest of six siblings, his mother doesn't like him or his siblings much but his Aunt Asha is very kind and had raised all seven of them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Clay! Over here, Tsunami and Fatespeaker are here already, but we're still waiting for Glory, Starflight and Peril. Riptide and Deathbringer are in Mrs. Kestrel's classroom trying to explain why they were throwing tape balls in math class, so they won't be here. Well, I mean Deathbringer was the one who threw the tape balls, but he ended up dragging Riptide into the blame..." said Sunny as Clay made his way to his friend's table in the school cafeteria.

"Hi Clay," said Tsunami, "Did you hear the news? The Welcome Back dance is earlier this year than last year, who are you planning on asking?"

"Uhhh... I don't know, I was planning on spending my time eating at the food table during the dance. Plus, I have two left feet, the last time I tried to dance I nearly broke my neck!" Clay said.

"Oh my, that does sound awful," said Fatespeaker, "Starflight asked me yesterday to go together as friends, and I said yes."

"And Glory's probably gonna go with Deathbringer, I definitely ship Glorybringer!" said Sunny.

"Awww, how adorable," said Tsunami, but unluckily Glory came up behind her.

"What's so adorable?" asked Glory. Everyone turned towards Tsunami, "Uhhh... nothing..."

"Hmmm... fine. So, who are you guys gonna ask to the dance?" Glory asked.

"I'm going with Fatespeaker, like uhhh... as friends, nothing more," responded Starflight, walking towards them with Peril behind him.

"Who are you asking, Clay?" asked Peril in a sweet, sappy, definitely not Peril type of way.

"I don't know yet," Clay answered, and looked extremely confused when Peril mysteriously seemed disappointed.

"Hey, Clay, can you come with me for second? I have something important to tell you. Starflight you come too," said Tsunami.

"uhh... okay, coming"

Clay followed Tsunami and Starflight as they walked out the cafeteria, "So what's up?" he asked when they reached Tsunami locker.

"Clay, sooo... the others and I thought it was time you finally understood that Peril has a HUGE crush on you."

"Yes, Clay, if you don't ask Peril to the dance, she might set us all on fire... IN OUR SLEEP!!!" Starflight said hysterically.

"Hmmm... I wonder if I can find any books on sociopaths..." muttered Starflight under his breath.

"What?!? Noooo, we're just friends. Guys, Peril doesn't- no, no, no, no, definitely not. No, she doesn't like like me, we are JUST friends. Definitely-" Clay tried to explain.

Tsunami quickly interrupted before Clay can blabber on, "Clay, you sweet idiot, we all think that you should ask Peril to the dance. It'll probably your best decision yet."

"Well... no way, that can't be true. And if she liked me, which she doesn't, you know that I have two left feet, I can't dance!" Clay answered.

Just then the bell that meant lunch was over rang. "Phew, saved by the bell" Clay thought.

"Sorry Tsunami, gotta go, bye." Clay said, as he hurried into the crowd of people coming out of the cafeteria.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As he walked to his next class, Clay couldn't help thinking about the conversation.

"Peril likes you. Ask her to the dance. Your best decision yet. Ask her to the dance. We all think-"

Clay tried his best to push all his thoughts into a deep dark hud puddle, but it wasn't working very well.

He reached Physics and hurried inside, hoping that listening to Mr. Mastermind, Starflight's father, talk about the periodic table would distract him long enough to forget about all the disturbing thoughts that were currently doing jumping jacks in his head.

Unfortunately, it didn't. The class only made him think more. That day, the only thing that he really learned, that would actually be useful in his future was that NEVER EVER have your friends give you an awkward lesson about something that will bug you FOREVER!!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clay walked that day by himself. Usually, his aunt, Asha, would pick him and his siblings up from school, but that day, he needed some time on his own.

Suddenly his phone vibrated, so like would he would usually do, Clay checked his texts.

This was how chats with Tsunami usually ended, Tsunami annoying the heck out of everyone, and everyone leaving. Clay usually would be the last person in the chat, or it would be Sunny.

Clay was hoping for a quieter night, but, instead, he got the complete opposite. His siblings begged him to organize a family game night, and how could he say no?

So that night, Aunt Asha, and the 8 siblings all had a wonderful night playing board games, charades, and other games together.

A/N: Hi, so you might have noticed that I've been writing in a lot of different styles, like from the narrator's POV and something more like the character's POV. It's just I'm still not sure which one I prefer the most. Thank you for understanding!
