All those days watching from the windows

He found me lurking on the DreamSMP grounds.

All I was doing was picking flowers.

All those years outside looking in

It was a small hello at first.

But as we spent time together, it grew into much more.

All that time never even knowing

I was forbidden to speak to anyone.

But there was something about Ghostbur's laughs.

His smiles. Heck, even his sheep, which made them feel like I wasn't trapped.

Just how blind I've been

Dream was protective, but he was in prison.

He wouldn't know I was talking to Ghostbur.

Now I'm here blinking in the starlight

My favourite cliff to stargaze on had no one there.

Now I'm here suddenly I see

It was perfect.

I invited Ghostbur, it was the first time I saw him as a warm colour.

Standing here it's all so clear

We settled down and watched as the stars danced across the sky.

I'm where I'm meant to be

I laid there as he cuddled me.

He was all I needed.

And at last I see the light

Everything happening on the SMP was too much.

And I felt he was my escape.

And it's like the fog has lifted

Basically my best friend in all the chaos.

And at last I see the light

I've always considered running away...

And it's like the sky is new

Starting a new beginning...

But we never got the chance.

And it's warm and real and bright

Home is wherever Ghostbur is, anyway.

And the world has somehow shifted

I feel safe with him...

Although he was a ghost.

All at once everything looks different

So, I thought he would want to be revived...

So we could actually live in solitude...

"So, Ghostbur," Y/N calls, Ghostbur hums in response, "I have something for you!"

They take out the revival book in front of him, "I should've given it to you before but I was just scared..." they and Ghostbur sit up, "And the thing is I'm not scared anymore..! Y'know what I mean?"

Ghostbur pauses them talking by taking their hand and leaving a small peck on the cheek, "I'm starting to..."

Y/N laughs as they go back to their laying position.

All those days chasing down a daydream

Alivebur had left dirt on me.

Nobody quite fully trusted me...

All those years living in a blur

Because of Alivebur's past actions...

I would always tell the truth...

All that time never truly seeing

I'd have my best morals.

Everyone saw me differently and treated me with caution.

Things, the way they were

Thinking that I would explode at any second...

Now they're here shining in the starlight

But then... I met them... Y/N...

they saw me as I was.

Now they're here suddenly I know

They were worth more than anything...

I loved them.

If they're here it's crystal clear

They made everything I see clearer.

They were the reason I could carry on.

I'm where I'm meant to go

We sat in the starlight and sang our usual song,

"And at last I see the light..." Y/N started, offering their hand.

"And it's like the fog has lifted~" Ghostbur continued, taking it.

"And at last I see the light~" They both sung as Y/N flies and Ghostbur floats alongside them

"And it's like the sky is new~" they hit that high note flawlessly as their wings stretch above their head.

"And it's warm and real and bright~"

There was no doubt they loved each other.

Lanterns surrounded both of them.

"And the world has somehow shifted~"

But this world would never accept them...

They danced in the moonlight.

"All at once everything is different~"

A girl and a ghost? It was absurd

"Now that I see you."

That didn't matter.

He twirls Y/N around.

"Now that I see you..."

He left a cold-touched but warm-hearted kiss on their lips as they both smiled.
