In the distance I hear the church bells ring 5 times.

"I better be going" I say

"already?" keigo askes looking slightly sad. It makes me happy to know he's want's me around.

"yes, sorry keigo I have..." I can't say I have a royal dinner or whatever it is

"you have..." keigo repeated

"I am on night guard duty; I have to get some sleep before that starts" I said

"will you still be here tomorrow as normal?" he asked

"yes, I'll see you then. Bye keigo" I say walking away

"bye Dabi" he said. I smiled sadly; I don't like lying to him.

POV Keigo

Back in the mountains

As we ate I could see rumi's disappointed face, she's found nothing again and she is starting to lose hope.

"I'm sorry about this morning. I just want you to be safe" she said after we finished eating and started walking outside of the cave.

"I know. But you have to trust me and Dabi, he wants to help"

POV Rumi

"... he wants to help" keigo said.

"sure, he does" I say angrily, why can't he see. "Everything we've found had been a dead end because he shut it down" he want's us to fail, his job is to protect the king he was never helping us.

"that's because it's a trap rumi" keigo said.

"you know what rumi, I'm gonna prove it" he said standing up. What?

"wait where are you going, keigo come back" I yell, causing chiyo to come out of the cave to see what's going on.

"No I obviously need to prove this to you" keigo yelled back while pulling his cape over his head

"let's all just calm down and talk nicely" chiyo said, it was quiet for a minute

"keigo I'm sorry. We have found nothing since we started this and I'm just taking it out on Dabi, you trust him and I trust you. I just thought we would find something sooner" I say calmly trying to explain myself.

"I know, I get it. I wish we had found something sooner as well. Dabi..." keigo started. Mid-sentence he looked like he remembered something extremely important.

"rumi! The window" keigo said excitedly

"what?" chiyo asked

"we can go in through the window tonight. Dabi mentioned he had to leave early because he is on night shift in the castle. The window goes to the princess's room, Dabi guards the royal children" keigo said I could see a plan coming together in his mind.

"I can see that our going to go. I think you should use this opportunity to scout the inside of the castle. Please be safe" chiyo said worry building in her voice.

"we will be safe but we need to leave now, the more time we have in the dark the better" keigo said as I grab my cape and put it on.

Soon we were at the castle looking up at the window. It was difficult to see because it's so dark.

Okay so we're going to go in there. Then you will wait in the room while I look around the castle" keigo said.

POV Keigo

"what that's not fair" rumi whisper yelled

"one of us has to stay by the window in case something happens and we need to leave quickly. I need you to make sure the window doesn't close. It would also be safer if only one of us went and from what Dabi has told me I have a better idea of the layout than you" I say, I don't think I've thought this through enough.

"fine, take as long as you need, scout as much as you can but be back before sunrise so we can fly down unseen" rumi said agreeing with my not so planned plan.

We fly up to the window staying close to the wall so no one sees us. We quietly go inside the room and turn back into our human forms. I quietly move towards the door; I open it slightly and don't see anyone. I look back at rumi and she gives me a thumbs up. I quietly walk out, close the door and start walking down the corridor.

POV Toya

Not again. I don't understand, they are free, keigo said they are free. Why do I keep getting these nightmares? I look out the window and see a shimmer on the water meaning sunrise should be soon, an hour or two. I might as well get up now. I get dressed and look at myself in a mirror, I look rough. I lazily put my crown on hoping it would improve my overall appearance and draw away from my eyebags but I still look the same. Tch.

I walk to my door quietly opening it, trying not to wake anyone else although they should be up soon anyway- what the hell. Who is that? No armour, a thief?

I see them turn slightly; you've got to be kidding me!

POV Keigo

Okay, I need to go back soon. I think I've found the king's room. It's the only one with guards outside the door. That has to be it, I can ask Dabi about it later. It's strange, I've looked at all the guards hoping to find him and he is nowhere to be found.

I stop and think about the map I've made in my head. I go left at this corner, scout this area and then head back.

Before I can even process a hand comes over my mouth and one around my waist. The person lifts me up and takes me into a dark room closing the door.

"what do you think your doing" the voice whisperyells, Dabi?
