So imma choose songs relating to team RWBY and explain why I chose them

Neffex - Best of Me

This song from the lyrics is about someone who is looked up to as a leader.

In the show Team RWBY, the remaining members of Team JNPR and Oscar
All look up to Ruby for leadership.

They all need the best of her to guide them and lead them

The hook really shows this

"They looking right at me
To see if i succeed
To see if i believe
They looking up to me
They want the best of me now
Best of me now
Best of me now"

In Volume 1 you see Ruby ridiculed by Weiss because she doesn't see that potential that Ruby has as a leader.
But you then see the talk Ruby had with Jaune showing that she knows what it takes to be a great leader.

Right now Team RWBY and the rest need the best of Ruby to lead them
To motivate and inspire them
They need the best of her to look up to

Weiss Schnee

Katy Perry - Wide Awake

It's no secret that Weiss is my favourite character in RWBY

Her character development has been amazing
She is no longer a stuck up ignorant bitch
She's now a caring, selfless woman who fights for herself and her friends.

This song fits her because she's wide awake to her father's atrocities and no she has broken free from his patriarchal prison and now is trying to redeem her name and fight for the survival of remnant

"I

'm wide awake
Not losing any sleep
Picked up every piece
And landed on my feet
I'm wide awake
Need nothing to complete myself, no"

The last line here is what I want to focus on "Need nothing to complete myself, no"

In Volume 3 we see that Weiss depended on the company for everything in her life
But now she's strong enough to stand on her own.

Also we see the mirror she confides in and talks to.
This mirror showed the divide, the duality between her mind and heart.
She was split in two
But in volume 4 especially in the song "The Life is Mine" (My favourite song in all of RWBY)
We learn that she has taken a stand and her mind and heart have agreed and shattered the mirror.
She is whole again and she doesn't need anything else to complete her now
As said in that line from the song I've chosen.

Blake Belladonna

Skillet - The Resistance

Blake is determined to take a stand for want she believes in and she led the resistance against the White Fang
Now she's ready to fight alongside her teammates for the greater good

"You can take my heart, you can take my breath
When you pry it from my cold, dead chest

This is how we rise up
Heavy as a hurricane, louder than a freight train
This is how we rise up
Heart is beating faster, feels like thunder
Magic, static, call me a fanatic
It's our world, they can never have it
This is how we rise up
It's our resistance, you can't resist us"

Basically this highlights the fact the Blake now will no longer go down without a fight
Before she would run off from danger
But now the only way you'll take her pride and heart is to kill her
Because she won't stop until the war is won.

Yang Xiao Long

Deuce - Look At Me Now

I chose this mainly because of the hook and second verse

First let's look at the hook.

"Look at me now, how far I've come
I hope that you're proud
I'll put my feet back on the ground
I'm coming down from above the clouds
Look at me now, how far I've come
Since I've taken off this crown
I'll put my feet back on the ground
I'm coming down right here and now"

Now this is a great hook to describe Yang at the end of Volume 4 and on volume 5

She was down, depressed and gloomy
A far cry from the Yang we've seen from Vol 1 to 3

But now she's back on her feet and ready
And she's coming to fuck shit up
She's ready for the battle, she's ready for her revenge, her retribution.

Now for the second verse

"I would never have thought I would be on top of these walls
Looking down on you all
Thought that I was a little off
Till I came back and stole the ball
It was a close call, up against the wall
But I ain't like you, I won't tuck my balls
In my tail like a fucking dog
Next time you see me, you're so fucking gone

I promised my people that I ain't never, ever walking
From when I started, ain't gonna bow, you must be retarded
Even if the gates of heaven open up and I hear them knocking
I'm gonna hold my ground till the end, homie, I got no option

I know that somewhere out there you are watching
I'm gonna make you proud, I am not stopping"

Now let's pay attention to the first paragraph of this verse.

"I would never have thought I would be on top of these walls
Looking down on you all
Thought that I was a little off
Till I came back and stole the ball
It was a close call, up against the wall
But I ain't like you, I won't tuck my balls
In my tail like a fucking dog
Next time you see me, you're so fucking gone"

The aftermath of the Fall of Beacon took its toll on Yang, she lost her arm, her friend and her spark.

We see she was down and depressed.
At that point she would've never thought she'll be back on top looking over those who've wronged her (cue the scene of her coming up with the relic)

The line "thought I was a little off"
Shows she was out of practice and she was getting used to her new arm.
But the training with Tai and her self control has helped her from making brash decisions.

"Till I came back and stole the ball"
She came back and changed the fight, she changed the game.
She came back with new desire, with a new flame burning within
Ready to fight
Ready to win.

"It was a close call, up against the wall
But I ain't like you, I won't tuck my balls
In my tail like a fucking dog
Next time you see me, you're so fucking gone"

We saw how close Adam was to killing Yang then and there but Blake saved her.
Yang was backed up into a corner then
Her PTSD affected her as seen in volume 4.

But now she's stronger and she won't run
We saw this when she demanded the relic from Raven
She made it clear she will wait for Salem and fight.
Also the last line is really fitting as we see Adam run off after being defeated now he knows what it's like to be at a disadvantage
Now Yang is stronger, she's planning to make him wish that he did kill her when he had the chance to.
Because the next time they meet Yang will be the victor and Adam will be defeated and most likely dead.

"I promised my people that I ain't never, ever walking
From when I started, ain't gonna bow, you must be retarded
Even if the gates of heaven open up and I hear them knocking
I'm gonna hold my ground till the end, homie, I got no option"

This basically states that even if she has to stare death in the face she's not turning and running.
She'll stand there and fight until her final breathe.
Her only option is to fight
She will fight for herself, her team and most importantly her Sister
She'll never give up.

"I know that somewhere out there you are watching
I'm gonna make you proud, I am not stopping"

Now this final line can be seen for both Yang and Ruby.
It could be interpreted as them talking to Summer.
They know that she's looking over them and they will never give up the fight for Remnant
And they'll fight to keep her legacy alive and to make her proud.
