Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?

Appearance was everything these days. Models are always super skinny, girls at school would do their best to look slim and you were there in the middle. Some people would say that you were fat or chubby while others would so that you looked healthy compared to the other girls. It didn't want people said though, you were overweight and you knew it.

School was hard enough with the bullying, teasing and the grades. All that pressure... Let's just say that stress eating helped you repeat your cycle of losing then gaining weight. Your mother and father were constantly trying to encourage you. They would offer to go on walks, help you with dieting and all, but you always found a way to regain the fat that you thought you had lost.

"Hey, Fatso!" A girl teased, poking her tongue out.

"Hey look, it's the meathead" A guy commented.

"Where are you headed to, girl? The doughnut store?" A girl laughed.

"What's wrong? Can't walk properly because you're so overweight?" Another taunted.

Tears began to flood your eyes and your vision became obscure. The bathrooms were not a play to cry and the teachers were nowhere near compassionate to be able to notice you or your problem. You just blinked them away and kept walking.

...

"Can anyone tell me the answer to this question?" The math teacher asked. You looked to the front and saw the equation written on the board. Your eyes followed through until you came up with an answer. Several other students already had their hand up, but you put yours up anyway. "Yes, (y/n)" the teacher said.

"73," you answered.

"Correct," the teacher said. "You did your homework then" the teacher chuckled. You smiled at the little joy you felt. "Now, moving on..."

...

You arrived home and sighed. School was another day dragged on and what's worse was that it was only Monday. "I'm home," you called out. Your mother poked her head out from the kitchen and smiled.

"Welcome back honey!" Your mother called back. She walked out and gave you a big hug. You almost fell limp in her embrace. You didn't know what you would do without her. The support that she had been giving you was just amazing and you owed her your life for it.

"Thanks, mum," you said, almost sobbing.

"No worries, I almost have dinner cooked. You can go have a shower and stuff if you want" your mother smiled. You nodded and walked over to your bedroom. You dumped your textbooks and homework on your desk and dropped your bag on the side of your bed. You noticed a note in the middle of your folder and frowned. It was a yellow sticky note that was folded. You opened the note and peered at the message:

Don't think you can run away from this so easily you pig. Ha!

Your heart just broke and shattered into a million pieces. You were so tired. It was so exhausting to hear the same taunts over and over again. It was numbing and unbearable at the same time. Why wouldn't this just stop? Why did it have to be you? Why couldn't the world just remain a happy place?

Your hand sagged to the side. You left the note on your table and walked over to the bathroom before your mum came up. "I'm having a shower" you said.

"Okay! Dinner should be ready in about twenty minutes so it should be done when you come out!" Your mother replied.

You turned the tap on and took your clothes off. The water soon went warm. You stood there for a good minute before actually bathing yourself. The steam and warmth did little to relieve your stress, but at least your body was relaxed. Wash. Stop the water. Get out. Get dried. Change into Pajamas. Head downstairs for dinner. That was your plan.

Everything started to fall back into some form of peace over dinner. You found out that dad was working late this time. You frowned a little. You missed your dad. He was constantly working and it was the middle of the year. You needed him for his crazy math knowledge, especially today.

"Do you need help with your homework today, (y/n)?" Your mother asked.

"Uh no I should be fine, the math isn't too hard today" you lied.

"Oh, that's good! But still, tell me if you need anything" your mother smiled. You smiled back and continued to eat. Your stomach tightened, your mind conscience about how much you ate and what you consumed. You couldn't even eat properly, was it getting that bad?

You walked to your desk and began to run the problems in your head, begging for your father to suddenly come through the driveway in his car. This last problem was going to be left unanswered and the other questions had a 50/50 chance of being marked wrong. You chewed on your nails and sighed heavily. You kept staring at the note on the side of your desk.

"I hate you." You growled. You scrunched the note in your fist and threw it in your bin before returning your attention back to your homework.

...

It was the same thing all over again. Arrive at school, get teased, be ignored by most teachers, somehow not cry, come back home and pretend like none of this happened. It was like this over and over again until it was finally Friday. You arrived home and slammed your bag onto the ground.

"(y/n), are you okay?" Your mother asked.

"I just need to take a minute before I make a scene of myself" you sighed. You picked your bag up and unloaded the contents onto your desk. A pink piece of paper stuck out from the side. "I am going to swear one way or another today" you growled. You lifted the folded flap and read:

I'm sorry this happened to you and I'm sorry that I didn't notice this earlier as well. I'm just like you. I get teased a lot because of my weight as well. Please don't think this is a note to make you feel bad or anything. I just want to make a new friend... Can I be your friend?

- Hunk

You looked at the note curiously. You felt cautious. You had never heard about this Hunk guy in your school and you were seriously considering whether you should burn this or not. It could be a prank or some note that was meant to make you feel better and then worse next week. But maybe... Just maybe... Was he trying to be a real friend to you?

You played around with the note and noticed small numbers on the bottom corner. You squinted your eyes and saw that the numbers were separated by a dash in the middle. A phone number? You were overwhelmed with worry. There was a number on the note... What would happen if you called it? If it was one of the bullies at school then they would have your number and start flooding your phone with evil text messages... What would happen then!?

You panicked and jumped up from our desk. You weren't going to take that risk, no way.

Suddenly your phone began to ring. Your body froze and fear was running up and down your spine. The caller had no ID. You gulped and reached out for the phone. It was like fear was being crazy by running toward the danger instead of running from it. When your thumb pressed the green button, you almost screamed.

"Hello? Is this (y/n)?" A voice asked.

"Sorry wrong number," You said. You smashed the end call button and let your breath out. You fell onto your bed. It was over. But your phone buzzed again. "Leave me alone!" You whined. You answered your phone. "Can you just leave me alone.... Please" you whimpered.

"Wait! I'm sorry if I scared you. I'm Hunk" the voice said.

"You're Hunk?" You asked.

"Yeah, I put a note in your folder" Hunk answerd.

"How did you get my number?" You asked.

"One of your friends" Hunk answerd.

"I have friends?" You blurted out.

"Uh... Yeah... Shae" Hunk said.

"Oh! Right, yeah... she's my cousin" You replied.

"Oh, really? That's so cool! We work together!" Hunk said.

"You work at a flower shop?" You asked.

"Long story... Yeah I do work in a flower shop" Hunk answered. You two stayed silent for a while until you heard your mum calling out.

"Oh, I've got to go now. Nice meeting you Hunk!" You smiled.

"Okay, nice meeting you too! Love you!" Hunk said.

"Eh!?" You exclaimed. The call suddenly ended and you were left dumbfounded. "...what just happened?" You screamed.

On the other end, Hunk started banging his head on the wall. "ARG! I'M SUCH A FAT IDIOT!!!" Hunk cried. Lance, Pidge and Keith looked at each other while Hunk was damaging his beautiful brain.

"What do we do?!" The three of them exclaimed. Shiro walked in and put a hand on Hunk's shoulder.

"Don't worry Hunk. Just give it some time and let's see what happens" Shiro said. Hunk whimpered before smashing his head on the wall one last time.

(Let's just say that Shiro was a big influence in your future relationship with Hunk) ;)
