Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Mark met Easton outside the Axiom. "You ready?"

Easton grimly nodded. Mark raised his eyebrows. "Something wrong?"

"Just worried about Ria. You know what happened those other times."

Mark laughed. "We gave that scum such a beating, he'll never even look at her again."

Easton shook his head. "There are things she's not telling us. I can feel it."

Mark shrugged his shoulders. "She doesn't want us to worry. What else is bugging you?"

Easton sighed. "I saw Janet Hartford today."

"And how did you do?"

"Good, I guess."

Mark patted Easton on the back. "Don't worry, bud. You'll be completely over her soon."

Easton grimaced. "It's been 7 years. If I'm not over her now, I never will be." He pulled open the door. "Enough talk. Time for the meeting."

Mark strolled to the door. Right before he was about to go in, Easton grabbed his shoulder. "Go easy on him, okay? He's just a kid."

Mark laughed. "Easton, the time for being 'just kids' is over. None of us are kids anymore."

And with that, he walked into the theater, leaving Easton outside, wondering why he even bothered.

Good transition chapter! And you got to see a little bit of Mark's character. He's not very sympathetic, is he? And Easton! Apparently he's still heartbroken over a girl.

I'm currently suffering from school and writer's block, so updates might be iffy. Please understand though that I'm trying my hardest.
