Chapter 24: Relatives?

"Heard you slept in a Domenics bed, sleep well?" He asks with a blank face as I stand staring at him, wondering what he wants this time.

"Sorry, but I need to get ready for school" I say, ignoring his question and asking him to leave in a polite and sneaky way while walking towards my closet.

"I told your teachers that you weren't feeling too good and are staying home today" He says, making me snap my head towards him. "Why?" I ask, a bit annoyed at his actions.

"Because we're going out today just you and me" He says as I raise an eyebrow at him.

"I made you spend a day with the other three and realized that it would only be fair to do the same with myself" He says as i mentaly prepare for the day. "So... what do you have in mind then?" I nervously ask as I fidget with my hands.

"You'll see when we get there" He says emotionlessly as he stands up to leave the room. 'He's probably going to disown me or something' I think as I make myself ready for the day.

'I wonder if i should just ignore him, he hasn't apologized for being a jerk and giving me unrealistic rules yet so maybe he still thinks i'm the one at fault here?' I think as I walk downstairs to find my most intimidating brother. I see him standing in the kitchen drinking coffee as I walk towards him without saying a word.

He puts his cup down and starts making his way towards the garage as I quietly follow behind. We get into a big black SUV where I get into the front passenger seat. I wanted to get into the back seat but chose not to so that I could have a better view of where we were going.

The ride is just as awkward as I thought it would be as none of us say a word. 'This feels so suffocating, it's literally getting harder to breathe by the second and I'm kind of surprised we left without him forcing breakfast down my throat, maybe he's taking me to a restaurant or something?'.

"Looks like someone's still angry" He says, breaking the silence. I ignore answering, proving his point.

"Trying to ignore me now I see. How childish" He says with his eyes glued to the road as I mentaly roll my eyes.

"Too bad, I was just about to ask you if you wanted to know where we were going" 'Oh his good alright'.

"Just tell me" I say, giving in to his trap.

"Try again" He says in a stern voice, giving me a scary look that would make any grown man cower away.

"Where are we going?" I softly ask, hiding my anger this time.

"We're visiting a relative" He simply says as I wait for him to elaborate which he doesn't. Normally I would be jumping with joy thinking of having more relatives. In this case though, I mostly feel nervous about what kind of people they are, considering what I've had to deal with in this family so far.

After driving for about 20 more minutes, we arrive at a mansion that looks similar to ours but a bit smaller. Ezekiel gets out of the car as I hurry behind him, feeling uncomfortable in the new environment. He knocks at the door three times as I anxiously wait for the door to open.

"Oh my goodness" An old lady I assume to be in her mid 70's say with surprise. "Hello grandmother" Ezekiel says emotionlessly as my eyes widen in disbelief. 'GRANDMOTHER!?'.

"Why haven't you visited me, child? I was about to go grab you by the ear and drag you here myself" She scolds Ezekiel LIKE IT'S NOTHING!.

"I've been busy dealing with a 13 year old girl lately whom you haven't met yet" He says as I stand behind my brother, hiding.

"Oh dear I think i'm going blind, there's no child here" Grandma says as she seems to actually believe she's going blind. Ezekiel puts his hand on my back, pushing me out of hiding.

"H-hi" I say with an awkward wave.

"Look at you, you look exactly like your mother" Grandma says, stepping forwards and bringing me into a warm hug. 'Wow she smells kind of good, like a newborn baby'.

"I've missed you so much dear. I'm so glad you're finally back home" She says, releasing me and cuping my face, making me see the happy tears forming in her eyes.

"Call me granny dear, i'm the mother of 3 boys, one of them including your father" She explains as she leads me inside the beautiful home.

"I have uncles?" I ask, excitedly. 'Does that mean I have cousins?'.

"Yes yes, and one of your uncles live here with me and his sons-" She starts but gets interrupted by a boy. "Give me back my controller Cal!" A boy yells as I hear running footsteps.

"You've played enough for today, get out and get some fresh air or something" An older boy yells. "Boys, come down here right now. You're cousins are here" Granny half yells. A boy comes running into the room as two others walk behind.

"No freaking way! Is that really her?" The youngest boy asks with nothing but excitement.

"Yes it's her" Granny happily says as the youngest boy jumps up in excitement as the other two stare at me in disbelief. "This is-" Granny starts but again gets interupted.

"Ian! the names Ian and i'm 15 and super happy to see you" The youngest boy introduces as i chuckle at his warm welcome.

"Hi Ian i'm Isabelle and i'm 13" I say as we both smile at each other. "I'm Calvin but you can call me Cal. I'm 19" He says with a small smile.

"Logan, 23" The oldest says with a straight face, giving off Ezekiel vibes but doesn't seem nearly as bad as him.

"Where's Anthony?" Ezekiel asks, looking at Logan.

"My father is away on a business trip for the moment, and hi to you too Zeke" Logan answers with a small smirk as he greets my brother. The rest of the day is spent with me getting to know Ian and Calvin a bit better and playing on Ian's PS5.

Logan mostly talks with Ezekiel in the living room as neither me or my other two cousins have the balls to approach them. Lastly I helped Granny with the food as it was getting kind of late.

"The food is ready" Granny half yells at the boys as we set the final dish on the table.

"Good because i'm starving," Calvin says as he walks down with a running Ian. 'Does that boy always run?'

"You should tell Isabelle about her brothers when they were kids" Logan says with a smirk, earning a glare from Ezekiel who follows behind.

"Ah yes of course, they were all so cute when they were little. Especially Ezekiel, I just couldn't stop pinching those chubby little cheeks of his" She explains as Ezekiel looks at me, daring me to laugh. "Yeah his cheeks were to die for" Logan teasingly says as I can't believe that he has the guts to make fun of my scariest brother'.

"Domenic was a sweet boy, always putting his siblings before himself." Granny continues as it's obvious that he was her favorite.

"Then we have Zane. Oh and how he would get on my nerves sometimes. But he was so cute when sleeping, he would always come and find me when he had a nightmare and would sleep with me in bed" She says as I smile at the thought of my scary brother sleeping with granny.

"The twins were both trouble makers, Malcolm would always jump around and accidently hurt himself or his twin, one way or another. And little Isaiah would always ask for cookies every time he came over" She laughs as I smile at finally feeling a bit closer to this family.

After eating, we spend the time watching old videos of my brothers and cousins on the TV as we laugh at their cuteness.

"It's getting late, we should probably get going now" Ezekiel says as he stands up making everybody groan.

"Fine" I say, realizing it's actually getting kind of late.

"It was nice meeting you all" I say with a sad smile as Ian comes hugging me and saying goodbye. The others do the same with a kiss on my head as I stand at the door why.

"You're always welcome to come by whenever you want dear. If your brothers are being mean to you then call me and i'll teach them a lesson" Granny whispers to my ear as she hugs me. I get seated in the car with Ezekiel as he starts the car, driving off.

"Thank you Ezekiel, I had a lot of fun and feel a lot better now" I say as I stare out the window at the passing trees.

"Then why are you crying?" He asks emotionlessly, without even looking at me. I bring my hand up to my face to feel warm tears. I look at my hand, almost surprised as a tear drops down on it.

"I really enjoyed hanging out with them, but when I was watching those old videos of you and the others I just..." I say but stop as I feel a wave of sadness get over me.

"I just wish I was there.." I say with a quiet voice. Ezekiel sighs as he stops the car, making me look up in surprise.
