Chapter 7: First Day- hero POV

Aizawa was weirdly unsettled by the decisiveness and confidence coming from Midoriya. The boy knew exactly what to do as if he planned the day to the second. When he and Nezu entered the observation room, everyone had made themselves comfortable, it was afterall going to be a long week.

"Aizawa are you entering the pool?" Cementoss asked.

"So far the highest bid was Vlad King, who bet Midoriya is going to loose in the first eight hours after the heroes enter." Said Midnight. "I bet Midoriya will last a day and a half."

"Alright, he said, I'll enter."

All heads swerved to him that moment.

"With what occasion Aizawa? I mean he's your student you know him best, are you gonna bet for 2 days or something like that?" Vlad King said laughing.

"I'm betting 100000 yen Midoriya will win."

Chatter instantly died, even Nezu could have been heard whispering "Interesting" which briefly made the heroes shiver.

"Are you insane Shota?" Presenr Mic asked.

"Quiet down, the game has started." a squeaky voice said.

They watched Midoriya expertly navigate through the underground passage.

"Has he memorized the layout or something?"

"I don't know, but does he even have a goal? Or is he just aimlessly running."

"He wouldn't run if he was looking for a place."

"I'm surprised he got into the sewers, I thought he would run into the forest or hide in a small apartment."

The conversation carried on, every hero squinting to try and tell what weapons Midoriya just spilt from his duffel bag. He seemed to be counting them. After shuffling his belongings around he picked up several C4s. All heads turned towards Snipe.

"I haven't trained him!" he said just as confused and scared.

"There is no need, Midoriya showed me his weapon license in person."

"The kid has a weapon license?!" Midnight said surprised. "The green cinnamon roll?"

They were watching while Midoriya ran through the whole city using his underground system that he monopolized. There were traps he was leaving behind him, thin strings and moving sensors. His first stop was the hospital.

The heroes were silent throughout. They were quite terrified they underestimated the kid, hell even Nezu was on his side. Midoriya barely looked like himself anymore, his face was blank, devoid of any emotion, but it looked so natural, much more natural than his daily smile which they only now realized.

Midoriya knew how to be silent, how to slither himslef into tiny gaps, it showed an innate talent that none of teachers ever saw. Aizawa was impressed with his kid, the same way everyone was impressed at his show of power.

As soon as the heroes got in, Vlad started sweating. Midoriya changed himself into a basic business man suit took his briefcase and left, making the bold move of taking a seat right in front of thehero tower.

"Oh no." Ectoplasm said.

"How much do we bet that the heroes didn't read the rules?" Mic raised his voice.

The altercation that followed leaved a sour impression on the observers. Bakugo's reputation might as well had gone down the drain, and he was the leader. Assaulting a civilian in full day wasn't the smartest move. Points were deducted when it was clear that the heroes didn't read the rules. Momo was as always the one to save the situation, offering free hospital service and apologizing for a 'misunderstanding'. That way they'll be able to keep the villain locked under key while supervising him. Unfortunately Midoriya was ahead of them.

His civilain acting was impressive, and all heroes came to an accord that the kid would shine in secret missions and infiltrations.

All the lights suddenly went out. It must have been the work of Midoriya who casually assembled a workstation in his base. Nezu was impressed of how he managed to isolate the observer's communication and electrical lines over the lines connected to the fake city and specifically under the hands of the heroes.

A creepy screen countdown followed and when it hit zero, the heroes too held their breaths. Out of nowhere, there was a loud boom sound. The heroes looked over their screen and say the hospital had been exploded. They had to be prepared after seeing the villain install those himslef, but none of them thought he would start the game in such a dramatic way.

During the hero's rescue work, they abandoned monitoring Midoriya in favour of grading the bunch. They did plenty things well, like how Uraraka's role was huge, and her quirk was an invaluable resource, how Todoroki used his ice to prop heavy beams. Bakugo's leadership was better than they had expected, but nowhere near an ideal one. Although they all gave their very best, no life was saved. Midoriya managed to kill 292 people in his first day, and only they knew that there were more from where this one was coming. All their stomachs twisted uncomfortably.

Midoriya didn't stay locked up for long, the police station allowed him to leave by himself. He blended in the crowd and managed to stop by a shady alley, where he could see a manhole cover a few meters away from him. They saw him smooth his suit and casually walk towards the canal enterance, while in parallel the heroes were trying to wrap their head around their classmate. They didn't sleep that night, not well.

"This is going to be a game unlike any others before." All could agree with Ectoplasm.
