When you get a new pet

AN: I was inspired by my little buddy. Read till the end to see a pic of him :)
Oh uhhhh also I will be switching dog and cat, if you want a part 2 with them switched, lemme know

Heartslabyul
Riddle
He lept when you first showed him the dog. He'd pulled the rules card, saying that the dog was going to make a mess of the dorms. You noticed the slight quiver to his voice. You handed him the leash gently. The dog sat at his feet, panting happily.
He cocked his head, holding out a hand for the puppo to smell.
"... I guess they aren't so bad... What kind of name did you decide on? I have a handful of suggestions if you're willing to lend an ear."

Trey
He had looked away for a moment, and suddenly there were paw prints in his newest tart. He looked around for the culprit, only to find a tiny kitten hiding in a corner of the kitchen. It had on a collar and a tag with your contact information.
He carried the little friend back to you. It crawled up his arms to lick the cream from his face and began to purr, thoroughly enjoying the taste. He chuckled. The sandpaper texture tickled.
Finally, he rounded the corner, appearing before you with your missing friend.
"Pardon, my love. Do you happen to be missing a cat?"

Cater
You had gotten a puppy and hadn't told him?! He jumped up and down, giving the dog his hand to sniff. It snuffled his hand before flopping over on its side for a belly rub. He began to pet and pet and pet, sitting down on the ground and making himself comfortable.
He activated his signature spell, splitting into 2 and confusing the dog. His clone, heart shape on his cheek, fumbled with his phone, trying to open his camera to get a handful of cute photos of him with this new puppy friend.
"Say cheese!"

Ace
He'd always been told that he was allergic to cats. He was allergic to their dander, he thought. So... when you brought a hairless kitten to the dorms and tried to hide it in his room, he freaked out a little.
But you reassured him, the little baby was hypoallergenic, they won't trigger his allergies. He won't need to worry about it, and besides, it's only for a little while.
"... so you want to harbor a hairless little sack of mouse screams? Sure. Fine. Whatever."

Deuce
You had expected him meeting your new dog to be this whole big thing. But... you couldn't find either of them in the morning. Finally, you checked outside, still anxious. What if something had happened to Deuce? What if your dog ran away?
But... no. There your baby bean boys were, playing fetch with a Spelldrive Frisbee. It was fetch and a little bit of tag. It was really cute to watch. He finally noticed you, pausing to wave and giving the dog the time to tackle him, licking his face.
"H-Hey! Hey- You win!"

Savanaclaw
Leona
His nose stung when he entered your dorm. Another cat had been there. Someone actively had the nerve to try to take you away from him. He laughed to himself. Like hell they ever would.
He approached your door, knocking twice before coming in anyways, pushing the door closed with the toned muscles of his thin tail. You turned around, a kitten in your lap. He froze, his allegations of adultery leaving his mouth as soon as they'd come.
"I... You never told me you were getting a cat."

Ruggie
You had finalized the paperwork to bring your puppy home. You didn't even have to tell Ruggie, he could smell your new friend on you. He was so excited to meet the new little dude/dudette! It was just a new addition to the pack. Survival in numbers!
And so, when you arrived home with the big carrier, Ruggie immediately sat at your feet, his tail eagerly wagging and already short of breath.
You explained you wanted to give your puppy a moment to adjust to the new smells, but his impatient groan won you over.
"Come on, open it up already, I can't handle the suspense!"

Jack
Had... there been another beast in your room? It smelled a little like Leona, but... not enough like Leona to be Leona. You were about as loyal to him as he was to you, you wouldn't cheat on him. Something else had to be going on.
He heard the swoosh behind him, something rustling with your papers and laundry. He approached carefully, trying to force his tail out from between his legs.
A little kitten popped out from your hamper and he, ashamedly, jumped nearly his entire height.
He brought the little thing to you, unsurprised when you said you had adopted the little baby.
"Just... Let me know next time so I don't get all paranoid, alright? Heightened smell is... weird."

Octavinelle
Azul
A dog, eh? Pets were not a new concept to him. After all, the Sea Witch's relationship with her eel companions could be described as a pet owner dynamic, although Azul personally saw it differently. He'd never owned a pet of his own, but his classmates had kept smaller fish and crustaceans as pets before. Floyd had even kept a goldfish when they were children.
It had not gone well.
"If there's anything you need help with- Veterinary bills, food, et cetera, I'm here to help. For a price, of course~"

Jade
The kitten crawled across his lap, pawing at his chest and licking his face when he leaned in to get a closer look.
He looked to you, almost confused. He had never met a real cat up close before. It was... strange. Not unpleasant, just strange. Much different than the pets merfolk kept. Much more vocal too, as the kitten mewled at him whenever he neglected to give it his undivided attention.
"You're certainly a curious little thing... Wait, yes- Of course I love it-!"

Floyd
The dog, big and shaggy, had nearly bodied Floyd when it ran to him for pets and snuggles. After all, Floyd's bones were small and fine, making for less than optimal support.
He tried to give it his best "scary face", but it only whined, giving him a big wet kiss across his left cheek. He was... confused, turning to you for answers.
"Shrimpyyyyy... What is thissss..."

Scarabia
Kalim
He'd had his own cat when he was younger, he had told you, although it was much smaller than the tabby that now slept in the small of his back. It took a bit of prodding for you to finally understand that the "housecat" Kalim had had as a child was actually a bengal tiger.
Your new little precious baby still had no name. That simply wouldn't do. Kalim had asked around the dorm for ideas, as you both had found yourself sapped of them. Finally, Jamil gave him an idea that had made his eyes light up. Jamil had earned himself a thorough hug for that one.
"What if we name him Rajah?"

Jamil
He'd thought, from the pictures you had shown him, that your dog would be... bigger. Maybe the size of a goat. But this one was barely cat sized. He turned to you, confused.
"Is it going to get bigger?"
You answered no, not by much. Maybe ten pounds if it was lucky. He seemed amazed and yet... almost disgusted. People bred for such tiny animals? Dogs were direct descendants of wolves, they were meant to be bigger than this-!
The puppy propped itself up on it's hind legs and licked his hand, tail wagging.
"... And what did you say it's name was?"

Pomefiore
Vil
Being introduced to your cat was an experience he wouldn't have missed for the world! The Evil Queen herself even had an animal companion, albeit... less cute and cuddly than your feline friend.
He was... heartbroken when your cat scurried away from him and hid under your bed. You left for five minutes to get the baby's favorite toy to lure him out with, and returned to Vil, dramatically posed, a single tear rolling down his perfect cheek.
"Prefect, tell me... If your cat is not a friend... then why in the world is he friend-shaped?"

Rook
No, you said, your dog was not made to hunt.
He sighed, explaining to you with a flourish and far too many hand gestures, that dog's innate purpose was to aid humans in hunting. He was a near flawless hunter, but even having an extra paw to retrieve his kills would be very helpful indeed.
No. You were staying firm on this. Not a hunting dog, just a little puppy.
"Then can't I at least hold him?"

Epel
Epel was... really more of a dog person. Dog's were big and cool and manly! Cats were just.... not for him.
But your cat appeared to be the exception. A big fluffy thing that immediately started rubbing against him and trying to give him little licks and kisses.
He laughed, giving it a kiss on the head and scritches behind the ear and under the chin, the kind the cat went crazy for.
"You aren't so bad... Prefect, you've got some pretty good taste!"

Ignihyde
Idia
If you were going to get a pet, a dog especially, he was praying to the great seven that it was calm and not... destructive.
He couldn't handle an animal that chewed on stuff especially. So much of the things he kept in his room were expensive if not important. High-end tech that big-time moguls would kill to get their hands on, it couldn't end up in a dog's mouth...
Oh no, he was overthinking again... when he saw the puppo at your feet, he didn't exactly feel relieved, but... calmer.
"H-Hello little guy... Wh-What's his name?"

Ortho
Kitty! Ortho was super excited to meet the new small friend!
It seemed the cat was excited to meet him too! Afterall, his servos made a nice sound when they activated and his metallic "skin" was often warm to the touch from the inner fire that kept him functioning on a day. So... of course he was primed for a new feline friend!
The cat ended up cuddled up in his lap, sniffing at him and trying to figure out what he was before giving up and falling asleep anyways.
"Good kitty~!"

Diasomnia
Malleus
A dog, eh? He'd never seen one before. The animals that usually visited his and Silver's home were typically bigger and less cuddly. However, this creature seemed to be begging for his attention and affection.
And of course, who would Malleus Draconia be to deny?
That was how you found him, on his knees, petting your dog with a sincere smile.
"Child of man, I assume this lovely creature belongs to you?"

Lilia
Cats and bats have quite a lot in common. They both have excellent nighttime vision, they're both adept hunters, and they're both super cute, according to you.
(Although perhaps you were biased, considering you were now a cat owner who was dating a bat fae.)
Anyways, bias or not, it was only natural that your new kitty and Lilia hit it off!
"It's... It's so adorable-"

Sebek
The entire situation had you on the floor, gripping your sides laughing.
Your dog had barked, quite loudly, to get Sebek's attention. He had said back, in his usual inflection, to hush. The dog had barked back.
And now your boyfriend and your dog were yelling back and forth at each other. Silver and Lilia begged for you to stop the two, but you couldn't help it! It was just too cute!
"This isn't an argument! As a newcomer, you will-!"

Silver
You presented the kitty to him. You honestly didn't know what else you expected. Lilia had thrilled you with tales of Silver running off into the woods as a child and joining coyote packs or getting adopted by bears. A cat wouldn't be too different.
And surely enough, in a matter of minutes, Silver had started speaking to your cat. They were meowing at each other as if they were old friends... It was absolutely adorable, and Silver seened completely enthralled in their conversation.
"Mreow..."

AN: Alright, as a thank you for reading to the end....
