He's a scary spider with a heart so pure

"Dear Elle,

My friend is waiting for you outside the palace. You will not miss him if you exit through the main gates.
Please enjoy your day.
Sincerely,
The King"

I read as I climb out of bed.

Finishing my morning routine, I make my way towards the palace gates. Approaching them, a tall creature catches my attention, and I stare in shock and disbelief. A rabbit? Not an ugly goblin or a vicious vampire? It's a fluffy rabbit that the king apparently calls his friend. What an unexpected choice for the Boogeyman. As I ponder this peculiar sight, a rabbit with long grey ears and strong legs comes towards me. He smiles, revealing his sharp fangs. At least now it makes more sense, though it still seems a bit odd.

"Good day, my lady. Did you sleep well?" he asks politely.

"Thank you, sir. I did," I reply with respect.

"Please follow me," he says and walks me towards a dark purple carriage, helping me to get in.

As we approach the dress boutique, a wave of unease washes over me. It's a small, quaint store that gives off an eerie, gothic vibe. The shop lady, having something in her looks resembling a spider, stands at the door, her eyes trained on us as we approach. As I step forward, she gives me a deep bow.

"Good day, Your Majesty," she greets me with a mix of awe and fear. "It's a great honor for me to have you as my guest. Please, make yourself comfortable," she says, giving a swift gesture to her maid to bring me a beverage.

"That's very kind of you, madam."

"Oh, it's nothing. Please, tell me, what kind of dress would you like to have?"

"To be honest, I have little notion of local fashion."

"Oh, never mind. Let's start with a color then. His Majesty told me to bring to your attention all shades of green that I have. That must be your favorite color, isn't it?" She gives me a kind-hearted smile, which is a stark contrast to her vicious mouth.

"Indeed, madam. Green is my favorite color."

How did he know? Did he follow my choices these days? It's touching, though weird. It doesn't seem like the behavior of a monster's king.

The lady is guiding me through the numerous designs of dresses, letting me choose one of them. I pick a fabric and decorations, and as the lady takes my measurements, I have a chance to look around.

The shop is dimly lit, with candles flickering in the corners and casting long shadows on the walls. The air smells of lavender and frankincense, which adds to the mystique of the place.

"Okay, we're done with the measurements, my dear," the lady says quietly. "You can wait here or have a look around the shop if you like. Please let my assistants know if there is anything that would make your waiting more pleasant. I promise it won't take much time."

I take a stroll around the boutique. Numerous dresses with fantastic designs and fabrics strike my imagination. They are glamorous, elegant, and delicate to the touch.

But what I see next completely takes me by surprise. Small, creepy-looking spiders are crawling onto the fabrics in the boutique and sewing exquisite jewels and beads with their spiderwebs, weaving intricate designs into the fabric. So that's who helps the lady complete her work so swiftly. I smile to myself, amazed by their skillful craftsmanship.

I make my way to the designated area where the lady left me, and there I find her diligently working on my attire behind a softly-lit curtain. As she works on my dress, she sings quietly to herself. I can't help but move closer and listen to her melodic voice.

There's a spider in the corner, so scary to behold
With legs so long and a body so bold
He weaves his web with skill and might
But nobody knows he sews all night

He's a scary spider with a heart so pure
Ugly on the outside, but good to the core
He makes beautiful dresses with his threads of gold
But the lady doesn't notice, she's too scared to behold

He works so hard, day and night
To make those dresses just right
With every stitch, he pours his soul
Into making those dresses whole

He's a scary spider with a heart so pure
Ugly on the outside, but good to the core
He makes beautiful dresses with his threads of gold
But the lady doesn't notice, she's too scared to behold

He wishes she could see the beauty he creates
And appreciate the love that he generates
But he keeps sewing, with all his might
Hoping that someday she'll see the light

He's a scary spider with a heart so pure
Ugly on the outside, but good to the core
He makes beautiful dresses with his threads of gold
But the lady doesn't notice, she's too scared to behold

So if you see a spider weaving away
Remember the beauty he creates every day
And though he may be scary to the eye
His heart is full of love and that's no lie.

As I listen to the lady's song, I can't help but feel a sense of unease. Could it be a hint about the king, I wonder, my mind racing with possibilities.

The king's actions seem to be unpredictable, even manipulative. It's as if he's always watching me, studying my every move and word. And then there's the fact that I'm here against my will. He brought me here without my full consent, which only adds awkwardness to the possibility of our meeting.

I try to hide my emotions, quickly wiping away a tear before the lady can notice.
