The Creepypasta

It was just a normal day after school. Getting on the computer to play MMOs and watch anime. I had been a huge fan of Pokémon for years by this point in time. I had started playing the series with Ruby, so I had never really gotten the chance to play any of the games on the GBC. I had always longed to play one of the first Pokemon games released here in the US. That day was the day that happened. I was going to GameStop today to buy Pokemon: Blue Version, you see. Once I had gotten to GameStop, I asked the clerk for a copy of Blue. I was in luck and got the last copy of the game. Immediately I handed over the money and grabbed the game cartridge. At home I grabbed my Gameboy Advance SP, which luckily for me played Gameboy Color games, and inserted the cartridge. The game didn't start as normal and I was given a screen that just said "Gameboy". After a few failed attempts, I took the cartridge to blow in it. Upon blowing on it a small strip of paper flew out and landed on the floor. "Don't play this copy!" was written on it in scratchy handwriting. After reading this I felt uneasy. Ignoring the feeling of anxiety, I started the game. Here is when I started having a feeling of fear. The game started out normally up to the title screen, which included a picture of red with his eyes gouged out and laying on the ground. Slowly, I pressed start and selected "New Game" to experience what the original Pokémon masters had. I was immediately placed in my room. Knowing this isn't how any Pokémon game is supposed to start. I decided to see what the trainer's name was. His name, Death. Now I was starting to feel panicked. I didn't want to continue but my curiosity had other plans. I left my house and walked to Prof. Oak's Lab. Surprised he wasn't there, i started wandering around and found that I get my starter by trying to leave Pallet Town and following Oak. After choosing Squirtle as my starter and defeating my rival, named Life, in a battle he said "No, you monster!" and ran off. Then the background music turned to static. Confused as to why he would say that I started to find out more information by talking to the Professor. All he would say is "Check on your Squirtle." Eventually I gave in and checked Squirtle's stats. Its HP was at 15/20 and was covered in cuts. Seeing the blood-covered Squirtle, I felt as if I shouldn't be playing. Now unsure of the game's authenticity I ventured onwards. I tried to use the potion received from the man who gives you a sample from the pokemart. It failed. "Squirtle doesn't want to live anymore, let it die." Scrolled across the screen. This had me trembling. The once innocent Pokemon games I played had such twisted concepts. Somebody had to be playing a prank. Either that or the game was supposed to be an unreleased copy meant for an older age group. I ventured forward trying to reach a Pokemon Center. Searching for hours, I had battled many wild Pokemon and Squirtle was at 2 HP, almost dead. At this point I checked my trainer card. Death had a twisted grin reaching across his face entirely., his eyes were pitch black, his skin was rotting off. His pained expression was nothing compared to his appearance. Going to Squirtle now, I began to tear up. He had no legs, no arms, and one eye was gouged out. I started to feel tears on my cheeks. I couldn't help but think "Squirtle doesn't want to live anymore, let it die." I decided to grant its wish. I walked around in tall grass for a few minutes. Finally, an encounter occurred. My 2HP Squirtle was on screen resembling the appearance it had before. I selected Tail Whip. Back and forth the Squirtle moved. "Squirtle used Tail Whip!" "Pidgey used Gust!" "Squirtle has perished!" rolled across my screen. My screen showed white snow. And with a long, soft breath I whispered "Game Over. Rest in peace Squirtle."
