Monthly [2/5]

It was that time of month again.

It was that time of month, that he would not look at anyone. That time of month, that he would not come into contact with anyone.

He sat on the slightly elevated patio of his home, gazing out at the over-grown garden, untouched since that time, years ago.

"I'm wilting..."

He clenched his fist, before slackening it and running his fingers through his hair. 'I'm thinking about her too much,' he noted, gazing up at the sky.

His phone buzzed, and he took it out, seeing the call was from Director Kido. "Jin, you're needed to investigate this humanoid Neighbor." Silence. "Tap once if you're heading over."

. . .

Tap.

"Good, I'll see you soon."

He closed his phone, before standing slowly, taking his sweet time to stretch.

"You were always pretty lazy, huh?"

"I guess. Wait. Hey! You're lazy too!"

"Am not!"

He turned around, pulling on his coat and putting his Trigger in his pocket.

"Doesn't it sadden you?

"That Black Trigger made up from your master?"

He fingered his other Trigger, before sighing, leaving his home and locking the door behind him. He couldn't afford to fail or miss a mission after all, not ever since that day had passed.

Running his fingers through his hair again, he took a well concealed pack of cigarettes out of his mouth and lit one, walking towards the Tamakoma Branch base.

Taking a drag, he opened the door.

"Oh, hey," Karasuma greeted, before seeing his cigarette and going silent. They stood like that for a moment before the black haired Border Agent jabbed his finger towards an office. "Director Rindo's in his office."

Wordlessly, he continued walking, taking another drag.

"Hey." The agent paused and looked over his shoulder. "You know she wouldn't want you to go on like this. Smoking, playing the silent game..."

His eyes grew colder for a split second, before he turned around again and continued on his way.

He knew she wouldn't want this.

But what good was it now that she was gone?
