Chapter Five

It was the night the massacre had happened and you are now back at the base with everyone else. You sat at the highest windowsill you could get to and just stared outside through the shattered glass. You didn't cry. Just thought.

"I wonder who did it..." You mumbled, then it hit you.
"I... It couldn't of been Phinks or Feitan. Feitan was chopping their heads off and Phinks was twisting them... My mother was completely intact of what I could see, she was covered by other bodies but her head wasn't covered..." You trailed off, your eyes widening.
"I-I killed her... I killed my own mother... The person who protected me and cared for me..." You whispered as you clutched the fabric of your pants.

If it had been someone else. Anyone else. You wouldn't have felt so bad... But it was you who murdered your mother, while she was searching for you. You had no idea how long she's been looking for you, but it must have been quite a long time. Considering how long you had been gone.

"Fuck..." You whispered, clenching your fist.
"Fuck..." You said, louder.
"Fuck!" You yelled as you punched the glass next to you, shattering it even more and cutting your hand in the process. You felt tears in your eyes, not from the pain of the glass but the pain of your mother's passing.

You suddenly heard a small noise which sounded something like shoes landing on stone. You looked up toward where it came from, in front of you, was Feitan, leaning against the other side of the wall in the windowsill.

Most of The Phantom Troupe had been in the main room where they all usually stayed, but you wanted to get away, so you went to a different room, not knowing Feitan was near by, reading.

"What happened?" He asked in his normal annoyed and monotone, showing he didn't seem to care too much.
"Nothing." You mumbled clutching your bleeding hand.

You suddenly felt cold hands on yours. Feitan took your hand and began to wrap it with a rag.

"I'm not an idiot. Tell me what happened." He said, sounding a bit less annoyed now.
"You wouldn't understand..." You mumbled, he let out a small sigh.
"Y/n... Do you want me to force it out of you?" He said, he knew how to get you to talk, so you sighed and put your hand in your pocket.

You pulled your hand out and held out the paper. He took it and began to read it and look at it. He got to the bottom of the page and saw the name "Y/n L/n" on the poster.

"Tonight, there was a woman holding that poster... I look at her face and saw it was my mother. I know you nor the rest of the troupe care about family but... You wouldn't understand how much she's helped me in my life."
"Then tell me." He said, you looked up at him and you could see in his eyes that he wanted to know.
"Fine..." You sighed and looked back down at the stone, pulling your knees to your chest.
"When I was very young, I lived with my mother and father. My father was very abusive for reasons I can't remember. He'd hurt me and my mother in more ways than one. I was young but I was very depressed and didn't feel like I had a reason to live... My mother helped me though, whenever she could she would buy me chocolates to cheer me up. We'd play games when my father wasn't around to lift the spirits. We'd sew and draw and craft and do whatever we could to have fun." You said, smiling slightly remembering it as tears went down your cheek.
"When I was about 10 my father took it too far with me, my mother didn't do anything. At the time I didn't know that she couldn't or else she would be hurt... I got so frustrated that I ran away the second I had the chance. I regret it so much now. She probably had escaped from my father and went on searching for me... I don't know how long she's been searching or how long it's been since she left my father but it makes me feel horrible to know I killed her when she was looking for me." You whispered the last part, tears falling onto your knees.
"I know you guys don't care about family but you don't understand how much she helped me out of that depressed state of mind and helped me learn there was good in the world and not just pain and suffering." You said.

It was silent for what seemed like forever as you just sat there, tears dripping onto your pants and basically everything around you. Then suddenly, there was a pair of arms around you. It shocked you so much, it wasn't like Feitan at all for him to hug you or anyone or comfort them. It surprised you that he was being gentle and kind.

"It's ok... Calm down..." He said, you could tell it was hard for him to be kind and gentle but you knew it was genuine and he meant hit, he just wasn't used to it.
"Th... Thank you, Feitan." You said, burying your face in his chest, the tears became less frequent but they still continued to flow on to Feitan's clothes.
"It's nice... To have someone around like you... You aren't the nicest or most gentle but when you want to you can do those things to comfort someone in need." You whispered as you smiled slightly.

The two of you sat there in silence for a few minutes before he finally spoke, they were words you never thought would come out of his mouth.

"Y/n... I know I haven't known you for long but I have these feelings that I can't control... Y/n... I really like you... I hope you like me back." He said, you were so surprised. Feitan was acting so much different than usual. He wasn't being annoyed or monotone. He was being nice and was getting flustered by telling you these things. You thought for a minute before your answer became extremely clear and simple.

You leaned up and kissed him on the lips, him kissing back. It was full of passion and love. You tasted something sweet and pulled away.

"I see you aren't lying... I share your feelings... Feitan." You whispered as you leaned your head on his chest. You were happy about this. You could tell you truly loved this man and nothing was going to stop you from loving him.
