Chapter 29: she knows she's wrong but she's a Lodge

Remember

"Hey!" Veronica annonced as we stepped foot in the cabin after the very intresting day in town.

Toni, Jughead, and Archie were sitting at a table talking. But once the three of us walked in Jughead walked to Betty, and Toni came over and dragged me away from the others.

But when Toni saw Jughead walk out talking on the phone we decided to follow him. He looked really disappointed and I could just tell by the look on his face he was pissed off. I looked at Toni and she gave me a small nod.

I ran over and engulfed Jughead in a hug even though I don't know why he's upset. Archie, Betty, and Veronica joined us outside and Jughead started talking to Veronica with me still hanging onto him.

"First your dad buys the drive in and now he owns Sunnyside Trailer Park." Jughead annonced to Veronica, "As I suspected, he's gobbling up the southside piece by piece--"

"Wait, slow down." Archie said as I finally pulled away from Jughead.

I walked back over to Toni and she wrapped her arms around the side of my waist as she dug her face into my shoulder. So much for a romantic get away. And so much for a peaceful weekend.

"Mr. Lodge is the one evicting people from the trailer park?" Archie asked.

"No, technically, he cleared us of our debts." Jughead explained which just got me confused, "And revoked the evictions."

"Does that mean you and Toni get to keep your trailers?" Archie asked glancing towards me.

"Yes, so why are you outraged?" Veronica asked taking the words right out of my mouth.

Why is Jughead always so upset when something good happens? Just because he didn't personally revoke the evictions doesn't make it a bad thing. Maybe I'm taking Mr. Lodge for granted. But of course he wants me behind bars for no apperent reason, so they're could be a lot going on.

"Because it's a tactic. It's a smokescreen, PR 101. He's trying to buy mine and Y/n's silence again." Jughead spat.

"Well he's going to have to try a lot harder because I don't live in Sunnyside trailer park." I said taking Jug's hand in mine.

"Good lord Jughead and Y/n how much of a nacrissist are you guys?" Veronica asked completely irritated.

"Guys, you wrote an artical attacking Mr. Lodge and demanding that he makes amends." Archie tried defending his girlfriend like usual, "It sounds like that's what he's trying to do."

Jughead scoffed and looked at my hand before looking at me and Toni. The three of us did kind of make a scene with the whole pikins day stuff. And the artical, and me sending the head to the Lodges. But know one knows I did that... not yet at least.

"They do kind of have a point." Betty said softly.

"Look Jug, I know you love conspiracies, but take the win, bro, and let's celebrate." Archie suggested.

Jughead may love conspiracies but what I know is not a conspiracie. But I shouldn't be letting everyone know how close I am with Mayor McCoy. They shouldn't even know that Hiram wants me behind bars. But most of them do.

Later that night me and Toni were doing a photo shoot on the couch while the other two couples were playing monoply beside us. Me and Toni were about to get into the intressting poses when something Betty said made us stop what we were doing.

"Hiram Lodge just bought the Riverdale Register." Betty said letting her arms fall to her side.

We all fell in scilence while looking at Veronica who was more confused then all of us. But she looked more scared then surprised. I gulped as Veronica and Betty starting getting in it.

"I'm so sorry." I whispered to Toni.

"It's alright, I think you'll just be punshied when we get home." Toni said with a smirk, "And I like to watch couple drama anyways."

I laughed when something Archie said caused me to go full on Jughead's sister. Me and Jughead have this thing were is someone says something rude to you the other would act like they're your older sibling. I had to do it a lot more for Jughead then he had to do it for me, but to be fair I have an actul older brother. Older by two minuts but older.

"Archie, this one's pretty simple, so even you might be able to get this if you stopped kissing up to Hiram for, like, two seconds." I spat standing infront of Jughead.

"How many times have I defended you?" Betty asked grabbing my hand to let me know she's standing by me and Jug, "And now you turn and stab my family in the back?"

"It sounds to me like you should be mad at your dad for selling the newspaper, not mine." Veronica said trying her best not to raise her voice.

"Yeah, there's nothing, like, evil about buying a newspaper." Archie continued trying his best not to shout.

"He's trying to scilence the free press, Archie. He's trying to keep Mrs. Cooper from coming after him." Jughead said pushing me into Toni.

"I am so sick of your vendetta against my dad. He's done plenty of good things." Veronica said trying to defend her name.

She knows she's wrong but she's a Lodge and she'll refuse to accept that maybe someone else is right. Veronica Lodge will martch through hell if that means keeping her family name out of trouble that way she doesn't get herself in trouble.

"Yeah, name one thing your dad has done that's good." Betty shouted.

"He paid Y/n and my dad's medical bills!" Archie explained and my heart sunk at that memory.

The memory of having to be the tough sibling because your brother was in to much shock. The memory of getting shot and almost dying, yet Archie ran straight to my dad and not me. He spent weeks with my dad and when I finally got out of the hospital he barly talked to me.

"Veronica's got you wrapped around her littler finger." I hissed walking back towards Jughead and Betty.

"And other parts of her body." Betty continued and I tried not to laugh.

"Oh! I'm sorry. I'm sorry we don't spend our time being tragic and moping and holding hands while watching serial killer documentaries. Oh, and wearing costumes to role play to get our rocks off."

"VERONICA!" I shouted but before I could say anything else the sound of glass breaking rang through my ears.

I looked at Toni to make sure she was okay and she looked at me in complete shock. She ran over grabbing my hand. Me and Toni stood in the front of everyone as we tried to figure out what was going on.
