Order of Singularity

Its fascinating to see how the Continent changed over the years mainly due to the actions of a single man. As far as the people can remember, the previous dictator was really selfish and corrupt. The Continent had a large gap between the rich and the poor. Regular famines, riots and uprisings were common. After one such uprising, Rajan overthrew the dictator and claimed his throne.

Yet no one even knows how the man looks. Some say he used to be the dictator's right hand man. After overtaking the throne, Rajan began his work immediately. He executed all the previous officials and elected a more generous and loyal group. The people of the Continent never cared as long as there was progress. Rajan, especially gave a lot of importance to the study of science and math. He urged his citizens to take interest as well ; in order to survive the uncertain future.

"DNA" monument was one such structure built to represent the importance of the field of science. It was located in the central square and was as tall as a skyscraper. There were labs inside the monument where biologists and doctors worked for cures of various diseases especially the recently discovered virus 'OdDE'.

The circumstances around the virus' discovery is a strange one. It was found one day while excavating the gold mines. Fortunately no one was infected. Other details regarding the virus are not revealed but its threat is treated with utmost importance.

Arwin waited for 5 minutes and scanned his surroundings to find out if there was anything suspicious going on. After a few minutes a tall man wearing a face mask approaches him. He was wearing a long coat and had an old fashioned hat on his head.

"Hello Dr. Arwin Wonderbatch ! Thank You for coming," the stranger greeted.

"So you are the one who sent me the pad. First let me thank you for safely carrying me back to my house. Secondly if you want me to hear and trust you then that face mask is not helping," Arwin replied.

"I do have a reason to wear the mask in the public. Anyway we will not be having a conversation here. Please do follow me," the stranger spoke.

"How can I trust you ? Am I to just assume you are a friend ?" Arwin questioned.

The strange sighs and looks towards the water fountain. After grazing for a while he spoke.

" Trust is temporal doctor. How did you start trusting your friend Dimus ? How did you start trusting your wife Sonia? How did you even trust your parents to take care of you ? Time is the answer doctor. You observed them for some time and then they gained your trust. But is it a true one. I for one reason don't trust anyone and same goes for you. You don't need to trust me either."

There was a calm yet stern look in the stranger's eyes which indicated his search for something. Arwin decided to follow the man thinking about the lack of his options.

After walking for sometime they reached a small apartment like complex in one of the corner streets. The stranger opened the door and then slid his card in a small gap in the nearby wall. Arwin was confused at what the stranger was doing but after a few seconds the wall buzzed open.

Arwin and the stranger stepped inside the lift and the wall closed behind them as the lift descended.

When the lift stopped Arwin could see an office space where a few people were fiddling with the computers. The stranger walked towards the central desk and sat down asking Arwin to do the same.

Then the stranger revealed his face. It was a wheatish, chiseled face with a scar on the cheek. He had a really charming and calm face whom anyone will trust if not for the distracting scar. But Arwin immediately recognized this man.

" You were on the news board that day. So it was some elaborate cult plan to fish depressed and lost people all along," saying this Arwin was about to get up and leave.

But the stranger immediately shouted "You can come in ."

The lift which they used before opened and five people walked from inside. Arwin was shocked to see the familiar faces.

Dr. Riese Brenet - A well renowned Biologist. 35 years old and a close friend to Dimus.

Dr. Alfred Brook - A 42 year old Computer Science genius who used to be a golf partner for Arwin.

Dr. William Winde- An Astrophysics wizard and stern skeptic of all thing paranormal and pseudo science. He is 32 years old.

Dr. Ravi Koti- A chief of National Electronics Lab. Arwin had worked with him on many occasions. He is 47 years old.

Dr. Yuki Isuzu- A nuclear physicist. She lead the nuclear fusion project for the country and is Sonia's 34 year old cousin sister.

These people were all masters of the respective fields and Arwin was shocked to see them all here in a cult gathering.

"We are really sorry for your loss Arwin. But you still have an option to change this disaster," Ravi empathized.

Other nodded as well.

" I am Mr. Jake Kanesha one of the Rajan's ministers. It is not a cult Doctor. Instead you can call it a group of highly capable professionals, sad and angry people who lost someone; for whom they strived and worked to look after. Death is a certainty but uncertain and immature death is pointless. These people are here to reverse that and so are you," the stranger spoke.

Arwin sat down and asked Jake to continue.

" According to the research done by Dr. William, we can certainly say that there is some mysterious relation between the cycle of life and the existence of Black Holes. What we believe is that when we die our consciousness modules in the brain break down into fundamental particles called BIP which then travel almost instantaneously towards the nearest Black Hole. If Dr. Riese is correct, then these particles should rejoin again in a different universe to give rise to the person who died. Just like reincarnation," the stranger continued.

" Let's say all this is correct. Do we need to jump into one to find out ?" Arwin questioned.

"Precisely," the stranger replied.

"Why not send an auto bot first to test the theory ?" Arwin questioned.

" The information paradox Arwin. If we can send the bot inside, there would be no way to know what happened to it. All communication would be lost even before entering the singularity," William interrupted.

" So your role in all this is to build the 90 percent light engine which you were secretly planning about," the stranger continued.

"Woah! Wait a minute how do you know about this ? It was supposed to be a top secret project only the Rajan and other selected scientists know about. Moreover even if I am to build the spaceship, it will take us a hundred years to reach 'Xexo' system," Arwin replied.

"I know a lot of things that you can only dream about Doctor. And about the hundred years time we already have a plan which we will let you know once you decide to join us," the stranger told.

"I need some time." Arwin replied while walking towards the lift.

Alfred offered to drop him home and Arwin accepted his proposal.

But on the way home Alfred decided to calm Arwin by taking him to the golf club.

"How about a friendly match? Just like old times," Alfred smiled.

Arwin nodded and smiled in return as the car stopped at the 'Velocity Golf Club'.
