The New Team

"This guy claims to know how to mind read?"

"No."

"What about an old lady from India who can levatate?"

"Can she levatate people?"

"No, it says she can only move food with her mind."

"Then no."

"Hm? How about a German Crusader?"

"A crusader? From the German armed forces? I hear those guys are tough."

"I'll send him a signal. How about an Egyptian Sniper?"

"A sniper will be handy. Does it say his average count?"

"It's a she. It says she's never missed a shot."

"Lemme see."

Jack showed the file with a picture.

"Damn, she's pretty."

Jack frowned.

"Don't get jealous on me Jacky. You know I'm all yours." Gabe looked back at the picture. "Who's that?"

"Looks like her daughter or something."

"See Jack? She's taken."

"No, this file says she's single. The girls father is gone."

"Dead?"

"No it just says that he doesn't really exist anymore."

"Hm? Send her a message. I want to meet her."

"Yes sir. Theres someone on here who is a doctor. She's top of her class. Woah. This says that she claims to bring people back to life. She works here in Switzerland at a hospital in Zurich."

"Send her a message too."

"This guy in Sweden is an engineer and weapons designer. Should I call him too?"

"A weapons designer? Of course!"

"You still think all this is a good idea?"

"The goal is to become a becon of hope to the world and stop the Omnics. This is the best idea ever."

"Gabe, I think we need to talk."

"About what?"

"Us."

"What about us?"

"Gabriel I-I like you a lot. I want to take the next step."

Gabriel stared at him and got close. His mouth was right next to Jack's ear. His beared tickled his cheek.

"Jack. I like you too."

"Then ask me."

"Jack Morrison. Will you be my boyfriend?"

"Yes Gabriel. Yes."

Gabriel kissed the back of his neck. Jack leaned into his body.

"Say it how I like it Jacky."

"Commander Reyes."

"No, the other one."

"Oh, Gabe. Gabe I..."

"You are naughty Morrison."

Jack got close and bit his ear.

"Then punish me Gabe."

"It's so sexy when you say it."

Gabriel pushed Jack to the floor of the cabin.

"You're all I need Jacky."

In the morning Gabriel and Jack split up to meet their future teammates. Jack went to meet the doctor and Gabriel went to meet the Crusader.

Gabriel walked into a run down pub and sat at the bar. Their were several men around him drinking beer and laughing at one another. They were huge, practically giants compared to him. The bar tender spoke.

"You're not from around here are ya. You American?"

"I'm looking for Reinhardt. Seen him?"

A deep booming voice and heavy footsteps came up behind him.

"Commander Reinhardt Wilhelm to you."

Gabriel turned and looked up to a man with blonde hair. He was wearing an eye patch.

"You must be Commander Reyes."

"Yes Reinhardt. I am putting together a special elite team called overwatch to stop the omnic crisis. You'll become a becon of hope to the world and be serving for your country."

Reinhardt chuckled.

"I already serve for my country Commander."

"You'd be serving for so much more."

Gabriel looked him dead in the eyes. Reinhardt took a deep breath and stood tall.

"I accept."

"It will be an honor to serve with you Morrison."

"The honor is mine. Thankyou for joining Angela. Commander Reyes should be arriving soon. Youre quarters will be upstairs in the main hangar."

"Thankyou Commander Morrison."

"Oh please Ms. Ziegler, just call me Jack."

"Then you can just call me Angela or doctor...please."

"Heh, will do."

"Commander Morrison, Comander Reyes is docking in the hanger."

Jack and Angela quickly turned to see where that voice came from.

"What the hell was that?!"

"I am Athena the Overwatch data base super computer. How can I help you?"

"Uh, I-I don't need anything right now."

"Very well."

"That was weird."

They met Gabriel at the bay. Reinhardt followed behind.

"Angela, this is Commander Gabriel Reyes."

"It's good to have you on the team Angela." Gabriel said shaking Angela's hand she smiled warmly. "This is Reinhardt. He'll be joining the team as well."

"It's good to meet you Reinhardt."

"You too Ms. Angela."

"This is my second in command. Jack Morrison."

"Commander Morrison. I can't wait to work with you."

"I'll show you both to your rooms then Reinhardt I will need you to come with me to Egypt. Consider it your first mission."

"Sure thing Commander Reyes."

Reinhardt finished settling in and took off on a ship with Gabriel to Egypt.

"What exactly are we doing here Reyes?"

"Picking up another teammate."

"Who?"

"Her name is Ana Amari. She is a sniper in the Egyptian army. Best in her class."

They landed the ship and walked into a small town. They went into the main plaza that was full of shops and people. Gabriel and Reinhardt pushed their way through the crowd.

"Hm. She said she would be right here."

"Here? In the middle of the street?" Reinhardt asked.

"Oof!"

Gabriel ran into a lady nearly knocking her over. A bag of groceries fell from her arms. He was quick to help her up and grab her bag.

"Excuse me miss, that was..."

She looked up at him and began speaking in Egyptian, but stopped when she met eyes with Gabriel.

"Wait, you're American." She said.

Gabriel froze. He was too focused at her features. Like he almost recognized her braided black hair, soft lips and dark oval eyes. Even the marking under her eye seemed familiar to him. He finally spoke.

"Are you Ana Amari?"

"Um, yes? Oh you must be Commander Reyes. Forgive me."

"Please, don't apologize."

They stared at one another for a while before Reinhardt broke the silence to clear his throat.

"Ahem* I am Reinhardt. It's nice to meet you Ms. Amari."

He shook her hand firmly.

"Nice to meet you. I was just on my way home. You must meet my daughter. Come." Ana said.

They followed closely behind. They walked through town and came to the outskirts of the village. Ana pushed a curtain away and walked into a small sandstone house. She set her bags on a table.

"Excuse the mess."

A little girl appeared from the other room. Reinhardt and Gabe smiled at her warmly. Ana walked up to the girl and gently kissed her head. She rested her arm against the girls shoulder.

"This is my daughter Fareeha. Love, this is Commander Gabriel Reyes and Reinhardt."

The girl gave a little wave.

"Will you get these men some water sweety?"

The girl nodded and went into the kitchen.

"Please, have a seat. Make yourselves at home."

The men both sat on the couch. Reinhardt attempted to prop his feet on the coffee table, but Gabriel nudged him.

"Be respectful!" He said in a whisper.

Reinhardt put his feet to the floor and Ana sat in a woven chair.

"So, tell me about this team you are putting together, Commander." Ana asked.

"I want a team of skilled individuals who's focus is stopping the omnic crisis and to become a beacon of hope to the world. We could use someone with your talents."

"Would my daughter be able to come with me?"

"Of course. The base has plenty of rooms."

Ana smiled.

"That's all I needed to know commander. I'm in."

"Welcome to Overwatch Ana."

Fareeha walked back in and handed the men two cups of water.

"Fareeha, go pack your things. We are moving to Switzerland." Ana said.

The girl stared at her confused.

"Switzerland? Why momma?"

"I have just joined a special team to stop all the bad robots. We'll be living at their base in Switzerland."

"Really?"

Ana nodded. All of a sudden Fareeha's face lit up. She turned to Gabe.

"Thanyou so much Mr. Reyes!"

Fareeha threw her arms around Gabriel's neck. He was surprised at first and was reluctant to hig her back, but gently wrapped his arm around. She ran off happily and packed her things.

"She doesn't like it here that much." Ana whispered. "So thankyou, commander."

"My pleasure Ana. We are glad you have joined."

Ana and Fareeha loaded their bags onto the ship and took off with Gabe and Reinhardt. When they got back to base Fareeha skipped off the ship and went inside to the main hall. She looked around the large room.

"Wow! It's so beautiful!" Pharah turned around to Gabriel. "This is where we are living?!"

Gabriel nodded.

"You are welcome to go pick your room." Gabriel said. "Their are plenty to choose from."

She jumped around eagerly. Jack walked into the room with Angela and a short bearded man following behind. He waved at them and spoke with a thick accent.

"Everyone, this is Torbjörn. Our new engineer and weapons designer." Jack said.

Gabriel smiled shaking the mans hand.

"Thankyou for joining the team." Gabriel said. "Behind me is Ana, Reinhardt, and the girl is Fareeha."

"I'm excited to work with you all." Torbjörn said. "Speakin of work, do you have a place for me to work commander Morrison?"

"Yes, right this way." Jack said. "I'll also show you to the medical center, Angela."

Gabriel turned towards Ana.

"I'll show you to your rooms."

Ana rook Fareeha's hand and they took an elevator to the top floor. The door opended to a long hallway of bedroom doors. Angela and Reinhardt had already claimed their rooms. Fareeha ran off and went into the first empty room she saw. It was a large room with a king size bed and lounge area completed with a tv. In the corner was a small desk with a holo computer sitting on it. The room had an adjoining bathroom. Fareeha danced around the room feeling the comfort of the couch.

"I can't believe we get all of this!" Fareeha exclaimed.

Ana walked in and looked around the new room. She stood in shock amd quickly turned to Gabe shaking her head.

"Oh, Gabriel, th-this is too much. I can't possibly..."

"No Ana. You are part of this team now. It comes with benefits. Please, accept this."

Ana nearly bursti ng into tears threw her arms around Gabriel's side. He nearly lost his balence.

"Thankyou! So much!"

Gabriel stepped back in shock.

"I-I haven't even shown you your room yet, Ms. Amari."

She leaned back staring in shock.

"You mean, Fareeha and I are not sharing this room?"

"Not unless you want to, but we have plenty of space."

They both looked over at Fareeha who was jumping on her new bed."

"Fareeha, get down from there!"

"Sorry, mom!"

Ana sighed.

"I think I'll take my own room, commander."

"Of course, you can be here, right next to your daughter."

"Perfect." She said smiling up at Gabe. "Thankyou again."

"No problem."

"Ahem."

Jack came up behind Ganriel and put his hand on his shoulder holding him in a side hug. He smiled at Ana. Gabe sighed.

"Ana, this is my second in command, Jack Morrison."

"Pleasure. Gabe we got a letter from Gabriella to fill out the forms for the new uniforms."

"Ana, when youre ready come down to the medical center and Angela will get you fitted." Gabriel said.

"Yes commander." Ana went itno her new room. The door closed behind her and Gabriel was imediateley dragged to his own room.

"Woah Jack! Slow down!"

They got in and he slammed the door. Gabriel was held to the wall.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Jack, I don't..."

"It looks like she's trying to flirt with you. Does she like you Gabe?"

"Jack, I think you are assuming things. Even if she did like me. I only have eyes for you."

"I still don't think it was the best to bring her onto the team."

"Love, I've looked at her file. She is a master at what she does. We can't afford not to have her."

Jack finally let go of Gabe and took a step back crossing his arms.

"Still."

Gabriel grinned.

"You jealous Jacky?"

"Shut up."

Gabriel got closer to him.

"I love it when you're angry. "He leaned into his ear and whispered. "It makes things far more intense."

Jack's face heated with blush. Ganriel grabbed his side.

"This...doesn't change anything! Angela is waiting for us."

They both headed to the medical center to be fitted. Ana came down too. It was her turn. She put her arms out and let Angela measure her. Fareeha watched her mom get measured.

"When do I get a uniform mom?" Fareeha asked.

"Sweety, I hope you never have to get fitted for a uniform like this." Ana said.

Fareeha sighed and looked down sadly at the floor. Gabriel starred at her sad expression. Something inside him wanted to cheer the girl up.

"Hey Fareeha? Wanna have a seat in the pilot's chair?"

Her face lit up.

"Yeah!" She said jumping for joy.

"C'mon."

She grabbed Gabriel's hand and they walked to the bay. He turned his head to Ana. She mouthed the words "thankyou". He grinned and continued walking down. Opening the door to one of the ships, Fareeha walked inside. Gabriel helped her into the pilot's chair then sat next to her in rhe co pilot's chair. He looked at her. Fareeha's smile lit up the room.

"There's so many buttons!"

Something about Fareeha's personality made him feel content. She was one of few people who could make him smile. She looked over to see Gabriel with the stupidest smile on his face.

"Wow, you have teeth? You always seem so uptight and grumpy."

He chuckled.

"Heh, I'm just glad that you like it here."

"Yes Mr. Reyes. I love it here!"

He grinned.

"You can call me Gabriel if you want to, kiddo."

She smiled at him and continued admiring the cockpit. They went back to the medical center. Ana had finished her fitting.

"How was the ship Fareeha?" Ana asked.

"It was amazing mom! Gabriel took me into a big ship! It was so cool!"

"That sounds amazing sweety."

"Thankyou Gabriel! I had fun!"

"No problem, kid."

For a week everyone trained. Torbjörn and Angela worked together to develop armor for their teammates. Angela was putting something together for herself. It was a valkorie suit equiped with her technology. It had wings on the back that would give her the ability to fly. Ana was doing some target practice in the training room. Gabriel was watching close behind. Ana finished her clip and loaded another, but Gabriel walked up behind and tilted her elbow up.

"Keep your arms up." He said.

She looked over her shoulder at him intimently. He saw this and backed off, but she set her gun down and faced Gabriel.

"No, Gabriel."

She got closer pulling him in fast. He couldn't react fast enough. Her lips collided with his. He finally grabbed her shoulders breaking the kiss. He shook his head and stared at her in disappointment.

"What the hell are you doing?"

She gasped staring wide eyed.

"I-I thought that..."

"Ana, I belong to Jack."

"J-Jack?"

She seemed terrified. She couldn't speak. Gabriel left the room without another word. He stormed down the halls and into his room. He looked over to see Jack at the desk with his face in his hand. He sighed loudly. His other hand was holding a tablet showing live feed of the training room.

"Jack I..."

"I told you it was a bad idea to let her join."

"Morrison. I pulled away. I tried."

Jack stood up making Gabriel quit his sentence. He starred at Gabe. He was focused on something else.

"Table it Reyes. Angela is waiting for us."

Jack walked out of the room and headed to the medical center. Gabe sighed and followed him. Angela was in the main hospital area fixing gear on to a mannequin. She turned to see Gabe and Jack walk in.

"Good you're both here. Try it on!" Angela said pointing across the room. "Jack's is on the left.

Gabriel starred at the new gear. It was blue with white lettering.

"Torbjörn and I were able to come up with a logo."

Gabriel looked at the shoulder pad and saw the new logo.

"It's perfect Angela." Gabe said.

"These will fit over our uniforms?" Jack asked.

"Torbjörn actually designed it to attach and clip on to our uniforms." Angela explained.

"Impressive."

All of a sudden a siren went off in the building. Gabriel and Jack went to the computer room. There was a small distress signal in France. Gabriel and Reinhardt went to check it out. There was a small team of omnic. They both succefully took them out. They got home late. Gabriel grabbed a bottle of wiskey and drank strait from it. He went inro his room. Jack was asleep on the bed. Gabriel decided to pass out on the couch that night. He woke up to Jack shaking his shoulders. He heard the siren in the background.

"Hey we need our commander! This is a big distress signal, let's go!"

They quickly stood up and grabbed their gear and headed for New York.
