Pie..

“FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERN!!!!!”

“What? Is it this time Pie?” Fern annoyingly said to me. It was the morning after Kim and I talked, after that time that I told her that I will win her back.

“I don’t know, I just want to call you.” I said as I jumped on her bed and smiled with all my might. I didn’t know that the talk with Kim will make me so excited and so hyped. I never felt so alive. Knowing that she still loves me gives me energy and a great reason to wake up every morning.

“Loosen up Pie, I know why you’re all excited and everything. But mind you, you tow aren’t back together YET.” She stressed the last word with all her might. I know that, she didn’t have to say it straight to my face. Pffft. Such a mood breaker she is.

“I know! But can you please just be a bit more excited and supportive of me. This is the part where you say…”

BLAAAAAAAAAAG!!!

“WAY TO GO PIE! WE’LL HELP YOU OUT!”

The gang came in uninvited. Puey, Fah and Jane joined our conversation with a loud slam on the door when it got opened.

Wow, so much for eavesdropping. And they got the sentence correct actually. I laughed at them being so supportive of me.

“Don’t make it seem like I don’t support you. I do, but there are other things to consider given the circumstance Pie. Kim told you that she’s not sure.” Fern looked at us and took a deep breath. “What if the things you’re planning now won’t work and Kim will just leave you again. What will you do?”

“Nonsense Fern! We never seen Pie this happy, so let her be.” Jane butted in. “My father once told me that you’ll never know unless you give it a try. If it hurts you at least you knew that you tried.”

“Wow, that’s one good speech Jane. You actually are right.” Fah said while looking amazed at Janes speech.

“I can smart sometimes too guys, you just never see that side of mine.” Jane laughed, seems like she never really knew how smart she was. We should tell her that more often. They were all doing the talking when I remembered something.

“How did you guys knew what Fern and I were talking about? You came here and suddenly joined our conversation?” I asked, don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing bad with them joining and knowing my status with Kim, I was just curious.

“Oh that.” Puey said smiling. “I heard Shone and Kim talking last night when I was about to get back in my room. Unfortunately, they shut the door so I wasn’t able to hear everything, but I heard your name and heard that you two talked, so after last night, I decided to tell this two.” He said pointing at Fah and Jane,” And we went here and heard you two talking this time. So we joined and decided to agree with you and help you winning Kimhan back!” He finished with a clap from his hands.

“So Pie, what’s the plan? How do you get Kim back?” Fah asked. I tried to think of something but nothing came into my mind. I was blank for about a minute and they stood there and looked at me with a disbelief look and expression.

“REALLY PIE?! NO PLANS OR ANYTHING?!”

They all said in unison, I looked at Fern and she was just standing there and laughing silently.

“What’s funny!” I said annoyed and threw her a pillow in the face.

“Nothing, you are the funny one.” She said laughing loud this time. “Here you are so excited on winning Kim and yet you haven’t planned for it yet. You can’t win a person overnight Pie, you of all people should know that, it took months for Kim to be able to get your trust when you both were just starting as friends. A small talk won’t do.”

She was not laughing hard but seems liked she was at the verge of it, this was not a funny situation, she stopped when she saw me about to cry. I was hurt; I needed her to help me not to insult me all the way.

“Hey, Pie, I’m sorry. It’s just that you’re so cute; I didn’t mean to make you feel like I wasn’t going to help you. We’ll find a way; we have to find a way because I want to see you and Kim get back together. Cheer up okay?” Fern said hugging me.

“There, there princess we’ll find a way. We’ll win your prince charming back. It’s too early and we’ll be going home after lunch, we’ll start from breakfast, okay?” Puey said and they all came and hugged me. What great friends I have, not everybody gets to have supportive and spoiler friends like I do, I love them all.

It was breakfast and I was looking at Kim from afar, she was not ignoring me, she was actually looking at me and smiling too but she somehow kept the distance. No more cold shoulders from either of us now.

“Hi Pie, good morning. I got you food, here, you can take these now.” Van handed me a platter of American breakfast which has bacon, bread and pancakes. He even gave me my own brew of coffee. He surely knows how to make my coffee.

“Thanks Van, I owe you one.” I said and got the plate and went to where Kim was, I was going to sit beside her when Jazz came into the picture and got my ‘supposed to be’ seat.

Kim was currently being seated between Shone and Jazz, how will I win Kim if that Jazz girl is always around her. Argh! What a great way to start my morning!

I was about to walk away when I saw Fern gestured me to turn around to Kim’s direction, she told from afar to just wait where I was standing and stay there. Me, being obedient and everything just stood there and did my job, which was to wait.

Fern got to Kim’s table and went to Shone and whispered something to his ears, Shone laughed and he got up. He followed Fern and even held her hand, my best friend turned around and gestured me a good luck sign. She mouthed, “Go on and sit there.” And left with Shone somewhere. Wow, she surely finds ways.
I went on my way and sat beside Kim, she turned and looked at me surprise, she wasn’t the only one surprised, Jazz was dazed too. What is with this girl?

“Good morning Kim, hi Jazz.” I said, I can’t say good morning to Jazz since she was not a good thing to see. Am I being mean now? Nope, just stating facts. Jazz looked at me and smiled too.
She didn’t greeted me back, I don’t care though.

“Good morning Pie.” Kim smiled a weak smile at me, she looked at my plate.  “Wow, that’s a big meal Van got for you. You must be really hungry.”

“Yeah, he gave me this, but I don’t want to eat this really. You know that I like rice in the morning. I’ll just hand this to Puey.”

“Really? So you just give out something that a person will give you if you don’t want it?” Kim said.

“No, I just know that it will be wasted if I try to keep it but I don’t want it. So I’ll let others have it because I know what I would like to have.”

“It’s not wrong if you try something new Pie. For a change maybe? People might be mad because you’re wasting their efforts.”

“But I still don’t like this, I know what I want Kim, and it’s not this. And I also make an effort to get what I want to have, and I feel sorry for the wasted efforts on me when I have my eyes fixed on something else already.”

We were talking about the food and we haven’t noticed that everybody was actually looking at us.

“Are you sure you two are talking about the food or is it something else?” Jazz looked at the two of us. For the moment, I forgot that we were with other people and Jazz.

They all looked surprised. I myself was not sure if we were talking about the food or was it something else.

Kim got up and left, I was just sitting still in the same spot where I was and looked down my hands due to embarrassment. The food Van gave me was still in front of me and was not moved.

Van walked and approached me; I knew it was him because I saw him from my peripheral vision, when suddenly I heard a movement in front of me.

Kim got back and she had a plate of rice and eggs and hotdogs. She also got me milk and a soup. I looked at her and she was having an unreadable expression.

“Here, last time I checked this is what you ate for breakfast.” She looked at me and handed me the plate, she got the plate that Van gave me and placed it on the side. She turned to Van and looked at him.

“She doesn’t eat bread for breakfast, she drinks coffee but only in the afternoon because she likes milk in the morning and she likes rice too, just an FYI dude.” She tapped his shoulders and smiled.

I looked at her and smiled internally because she still remembered all those things about me. She turned to me and smiled a weak smile. She went to Shone and they were out of the place just as I looked at the breakfast she gave me.

“Sorry Pie. I didn’t know that you liked your breakfast this way.” Van said apologetically.
“It’s okay Van, no harm done.” I smiled at him, I felt bad that he felt that way but I was thankful that he was really treating me nice. I guess I have to break it to him at one point that I will never fall for him because I love Kim already. I’ll think of the best way to say it.

Van left and I started eating. This was the best breakfast that I had for the last two years. Kim might have not joined me but she gave me this so that makes it special. I don’t know now but it seems that it’s Kim who’s winning me over and over again and not me making a move to win her back. Oh my Kim. I love you and I will win you. Please be patient with me.
