The Wild Speaks - Part Two, Chapter One (or Eight)

Part Two has begun!

Previously:

Next stop, find Link.

And find a way to kill him.

Notice: This is her heart speaking. THIS IS HER MIND SPEAKING. Italics are her thoughts.

I had been searching only for a few days before I found him again.

It certainly helped that I had analyzed his behavior patterns.

I stumbled across his campsite in the daytime and knew that he would return come nightfall.

So, I climbed a tree and settled myself in, waiting.

I must have dozed off (silly girl, remember your training!) for I woke in the middle of the night.

I saw the moonlight glinting off a silver sword and shield next to a glowing fire.

There he was.

I climbed down from the tree and drew my sickle.

I circled to where he wouldn't see me, but I caught a glimpse of his face.

He was smiling in his sleep...

He looked so at peace, the worry lines on his forehead relaxed and his expression serene.

I looked down and saw my hand was shaking.

Can I do this?

Do I even have a choice?

Is there any way I don't have to kill him...

NO THERE IS NOT.

But he saved me...

He saw me dying and he saved me...

Did the Yiga ever do that for me?

Did they even expect me to succeed?

DID THEY SEND ME TO DIE?

Yes.

They sent me to die facing him.

I WON'T KILL HIM.

THE YIGA SENT ME TO DIE, BUT HE SAVED MY LIFE INSTEAD.

I CAN'T KILL HIM.

I put away my sickle and climbed back up the tree.

I understood now.

My clan had never intended for me to kill him.

I was simply a sacrifice for them, a useless pawn to be thrown away.

I won't kill Link.

Buuut I'll keep following him.

Just in case I change my mind.

Setting the stage for something awesome in the next chapter! :)

Peace Out!
