Chapter 22: Trouble? Again?!

A forest. Full of life. Flowers blossomed everywhere. Their colors were perfectly mixing with the bright green of the grass. Birds were chipping like they were having a concert.

And in the middle of all of it, surrounded by the trees, sitting alone with the flowers. A small girl, probably a child was there. She had a gentle smile, which brighten the place even more.

Her pair of azure blue eyes were beautiful like precious stones. And her long straight white hair was waving thanks to the wind, as a small bird made its way towards her shoulder. Her white robe was slightly waving too.

But that girl wasn't really alone. Her back was facing a man, which looked like he was in his twenties, with tan skin and yellow eyes. This person was known as Hirokami Kei, who was wearing the same white robe.

He wasn't saying anything, nor did his face betray any emotions. His eyes were as cold as ice. The girl, in slow motion, turned her head towards the Dragon without turning her body.

And her lips started to move. She was clearly speaking but Kei couldn't hear anything, until the last word. He was able to only hear this last word.

"Kei." The little girl said. And without any explanation, the scenery started to fade away. The trees, the flowers, the sky. Everything was black but the small girl.

She got up and fully turned around to Kei, as her body started to glitch. She tried to walk to him, no, she tried to run to him. But as she was about to reach him, her entire body faded away, in particles.

Kei, still with the same eyes, put his hand forward, trying to reach the remaining of the girl, until he found himself in a classroom. His classroom, sitting on his chair with his hand above him, as it was trying to touch the ceiling.

It took him some time to understand what happened, before coming back to his senses.

"A dream...?" He muttered, still unsure himself. He would have asked Destiny if she wasn't busy with keeping Trihexa in check. That girl can be hard to deal with sometimes.

Kei looked towards the clock, only to see that it was 2 pm. He still had 5 minutes before his next class. Not wanting to be tired when teaching those kids, he got up and cast some water on his face.

"Come on, it's not the moment to slack off."

He walked towards the windows and opened the curtains, which he closed before his hands. The bell rang, signaling the start of class, but no students were there yet, which was not normal.

Since he just woke up, his mind didn't work that well. That's why he blocked for some seconds as he realized his mistakes.

"I have to subsite the P.E teacher, so the kids are outside...Fuck."

Without wasting any more time, he ran off the class. No just kidding, the class he was teaching was a mix between first, second, and third years, and surprisedly, all the former devils of the school were there.

He wasn't looking forward to that because they have been giving him dirty looks since he got his magic back. He simply walked at a normal pace, taking his time.

Outside, the ORC and the Student Council were together, talking about one subject, the name that was on everyone's mouth, Kei.

"I still can't believe he managed to do it." Rias spoke her mind, still feeling uneasy. But to be honest, that emotion was shared by everyone. Sona was the next to take the speech.

"It's not that shocking. Who could have stopped him? No one in the dev-former devil's council would have been strong enough to stop him. He took back what was his."

"I find it unfair." It was Koneko who made that statement. The girl who wanted her nekoshou side to disappear was not satisfied that she obtained what she wanted. She understood that it was better than being defenseless, a normal human.

"We can't do anything now. It's over. He won, we lost. Simple as that. It may be harsh but we have to accept it." Akeno said, with some wisdom. Even though the situation with her father was getting better, she was still uncomfortable with this wing.

It's sad that she lost all her powers and became a regular human, but at least now, she may be able to live a normal life, without having the duty to deal with stray devils and rating games. The rest looked down but still nodded, as they were accepting the truth.

Suddenly, Kei finally made his apparition, in sports clothes. His muscles were well defined. It wasn't too much but his abs could be seen thanks to the back shirt.

Some girl sighed lovingly as they saw him, which earned him a few glares from the boys. The only girls who weren't looking at him were the ones from the Council and the Orc, scared of him. But Sona's president instinct kicked in.

"Sensei you're late. It's your duty to be here on time. May we ask why you're late? I think we deserve a reason." Her tone was strict. The others were trying to stop her. Her friends wanted her to stop, scared of Kei's reaction.

But to their surprise, his eyes were still cold. It was like he wasn't even there. He looked at her, with his eyes staring right back at her like it was crushing her soul.

"I got lost on the path of life." His answer was flat, emotionless. He didn't want to deal with her, nor with anyone. His mind was still on his dream.  He couldn't stop thinking about it. Which is why he was about to deal fast with the kids.

"Today's class will be free period. You can play the sport you want if it's not dangerous. As long as you don't get injured I don't care. Enjoy." He said, then walked off, leaving the dumbfound students alone.

He started to walk off until he felt something behind his back. Something was summoned. Something dangerous. But it wasn't from any of Kei's allies or the ones who were linked to him. Someone was able to cast magic without his knowledge, which shouldn't be possible.

Looking back, he saw his students, all asleep, on the ground and locked in a purple transparent barrier. Kei's eyes glowed as he tried to erase it, but to his shock, it didn't work. This magic was not his. This was not magic, it was something else.

He wasn't specialized in analytics. He let that capacity to Destiny so she could use it to its full extent. Without notice, the barrier disappeared, along with the students.

Kei couldn't feel it anymore. He couldn't rack it either since it wasn't magic. The light alerted the other classes. But acting fast, Kei blocked their eyesight. When they looked at the yard, they only saw Kei teaching the students.

A perfect illusion, perfected with Merlin's knowledge on the subject. He wasn't angry. Those were humans. He didn't really care about them right now. They were a source of unbearable pain, as well as some of his friends.

He cared before because they were weak to the supernatural. But it changed. He was now the supernatural. Now, the only threat to humans was themselves. And it was probably the most dangerous.

He could simply change the memories of their parents, as well as the school and their friends. But was it really alright? A sudden image of the siblings at the park came to his mind. A single sight made him clench his fist.

With a sigh, he walked away from the yard and suddenly teleported. He could be found in his home, in front of Atalanta who was about to eat something as she stopped all movements when she saw him, her fork just before her mouth, which was open, ready to consume the food.

"I have something for you to do. Take Merlin and teleport to my location. Now." He wasn't taking no as an option and instantly left the place, looking for his first wife.

Atalanta was still not moving until the information reach her brain. Quickly eating her piece of meat, she yelled for Merlin, still chowing her food.  Meanwhile, Kei was now in Destiny's personal space, with Trihexa being tied up from her feet, her body upside down and Destiny, with a stick, smashing Trihexa here and there.

"Destiny, come here now." It was the same tone he used with Atalanta. It was an order but his tone was not harsh. Strict but still respectful. Without any hesitation, Destiny entered his soul.

"What's the problem, Master?" She spoke to him via their link while she was in his soul.

"Look in my memory and tell me what you can find on that purple matter."

Destiny started to look in and found her master was talking about and she was perplexed. It was a first for her too. But she tried her best to find what it was. Not for the students but for her master's.

It took her more than five minutes but she finally found something. Something that didn't please her.

"Master. It is indeed not magic. It is a new source of energy. That's why we never heard of it. It is not as strong as magic but it can evolve with the user. It contained some godly power as well."

"Godly power? A god managed to create something like that? They're still fucking annoying even when they're powerless. Can you find who it is?"

" I'm truly master. Its signature energy is mixed with that purple matter. I can not analyze it perfectly. I beg for  your forgiveness master!" Her voice started to crack. Her whole purpose was to serve Kei. To be useful to him. To stay by his side for eternity, but here she was, not able to do a simple task.

"Destiny." He spoke to her in a gentle tone." You don't need to excuse yourself. Perfection does not exist. Everyone can make mistakes. Please remember that I will never hate you and that I love you. Okay, Destiny?"

Inside his soul, Destiny had some tears in her eyes but was smiling neither less. She was filled with happiness and knew, more than ever that she would never leave his side. Never.

"Okay master." She said as she wiped the remaining tear in her eye. "But I did find the location of that barrier."

Kei smiled at her antics. Beating herself up and yet she had vital information. Typical Destiny. " Thank you, Destiny. You're the best."

"I know."

'Wasn't she crying ten seconds ago?' Kei thought as he heard her prideful and playful tone. But to his surprise, she responded. "It's just your imagination."

With a sigh, Kei left the space, leaving a tied-up Trihexxa, not being able to free herself from Destiny's rope.

Back in Kei's home, Merlin and Atalanta were in the battle gear. Kei just informed them of their mission and the Greek Bowwoman was pissed off. Really pissed off that children got involved in all this mess.

Merlin was not angry but he was not exactly happy about it. Being the one who taught Artoria, he grew a soft side for children, he was sure that the moment he sees the responsible, it's on sight.

"I won't come since I have to look all around the globe to check if anything similar happen. Atalanta, I trust you to take care of it. And keep an eye on Merlin, you never know." Kei stated, which earned him a nod from the bowwoman and a playful glare from the magus.

"Do not worry, Kei. We will succeed without any casualties. And if I fail, Jalter won't let me see the end of it." Atalanta said, followed by Merlin.

"Yeah, Artoria-chan can be really harsh too! Sniff!" He exclaimed. His fake tears and acting could be on par with Doma from Demon Slayer, but it's a story for another time. Kei simply nodded his head.

"Destiny will keep the connection between me and us. If things go wrong, I will take care of it. Understood?" Kei said.

"Understood!/ You got that right!" Atalanta and Merlin exclaimed at the same time. They teleported towards the destination indicated by Destiny, as Kei left to continue the investigation.

In another place, in a royalties-looking room, a tall and muscular man was sitting on a throne. He was wearing a golden color armor and a mask that matched its tones as his violet eyes could be seen through the openings of it. A long red cape was the final touch of this big, luxury protection.

Before him, the barrier with all the students sleeping on the ground. Underneath its mask, the man was grinning like a madman and spoke in a heavy and excited tone.

" This is getting really interesting~"

(I think that you noticed I tried a new writing style. If you could give me feedback, it would be greatly appreciated.)
