Chapter 9

Ever since that day till her sixth birthday, the Emperor and the Crown prince visited Eleanor almost everyday.

At the beginning it was because of their hurting ego that they constantly tried to make her embarrassed, to which they failed every single time, but gradually they actually started to care about her.

Eleanor always had answers for everything, putting the Royal family's plans backfire at their own guts. And it's not like the Emperor never tried to kill her for that, it's just that if he did do that, it means that she had won. That, he had done a huge favor for Eleanor.

The first few months, coffees turning sour, office papers becoming cartoons, that was the condition of the imperial family day after day losing. They were literally on the verge of losing their mind which greatly worried the prime minister and the other close nobles. They predicted that the Emperor was soon going to lose his sanity, but that day never came. As fighting sessions started to slowly evolve into evening teatime, it gradually became just a small break from the world for the Emperor and Monte.

Not like they didn't debated though. They still argued and insulted each other, but unlike before, it became more pleasant than raging. And without realizing, the Emperor and Monte, both, started to look forward for the time that they could spend with their beloved daughter and sister, who day by day was starting to look more and more like the queen.

But that wasn't the case for Rael. She hated their visits and despised the fact that they came to her palace everyday to start a new argument. Which, of course she always won flawlessly. Maybe, she wouldn't have hated them so much if she didn't regain the memories of the past owner. But the way they treated Eleanor was beyond forgiveness. And, as an orphan herself, she could too understand the need of love Eleanor begged for.

Don on the other hand, though happy for the princess, he was quite annoyed at the Royal family's frequent visits. Not because of jealousy, but for the fact that they ignored the lovely princess till now.

They're acting as if them visiting the princess is the most normal thing in the world. Seriously, are they even human?

His smiling lips would always twitch whenever the visitor would be the Emperor or the crown prince himself, thinking of ways to kill them if they try to hurt his little princess even once. But, gratefully to him, the tea time between the family would only end the boys storming off the palace to heaven knows where.

While the princess would be satisfyingly sipping her tea, without a care in the world.

Don chuckles happily.
