THE STAGE

They said all is well.
Fitted words, tailored tongues.
Smiling wild as masks fell.
Picture perfect for lies like songs.

They said all is done.
Whispered gasps, reactions caught.
Crying loud as tears were none.
Mimed image from crafted thoughts.

They said all is right.
Honeyed eyes, assured voice.
Giving love as hate dripped out.
Drained motions faking rejoice.

They said all is all.
Puppet hands, candied claims.
Nothing shows when taking a role.
Following a lead lost in reigns.

Hello all! This poem was written in a biomolecular class at 10 pm... I'm still satisfied with it as I tried to convey the less is more idea. Hopefully you like it too!
