"Do you fear death? Do you fear that dark abyss? All your deeds laid bare - all your sins punished?" Captain Jones demanded with a snort. Enid stood at the front of the crowd on an incapacitated ship as Davy Jones paced in front of a row of kneeling men.

Months now after the binding of Calypso, Jones' form had almost completely transformed into a humanoid sea creature. The dreadlock beard had come alive as tentacles, Jones' face had flattened and turned wet to the touch, and his deformed left arm had turned into a large crab claw.

His walk had also been affected by the transformation, and he walked with a very obvious limp and loud thud to his step. Most of the crewmen had transformed into humanoid sea creatures as well, and this had not been the first ship that Davy Jones had willingly plundered.

Enid did not leave his side, however, and the longing feeling towards the captain did not subside, either. "Y-yes...yes, I do..." one poor soul whimpered, his entire body trembling fiercely. Davy Jones chuckled menacingly as he approached the terrified sailor.

"I offer you a choice - join my crew and postpone that judgement. 100 years before the mast...will ye serve?" he asked, kneeling down in front of the man. "Y-yes...I will," he stuttered out without hesitation, nodding furiously.

Davy Jones cackled and looked back at his crew, who joined him in his chuckling, which only made the sailors tremble more. Jones glanced back at Enid, who sent him a curious gaze, and his expression immediately softened.

Enid found herself singing to the captain almost every night, soothing the troubled man into slumber. It was the only thing that could even begin to satisfy the urge within her, when the captain would relax in the safety of his cabin with her at his side.

"Enid, my dear...should we allow these ill-fated souls to join our crew?" he asked her, limping over to her side. Enid glanced back at the four sailors, and each of them looked up at her with a glimmer of hope in their eyes, as well as fear.

She moved past Davy Jones and approached the row of men herself, giving each man a critical look. "All..." she said as she walked down the line. She then stopped at the last man, whose gaze looked too dark and too sinister when he looked at her with a scoff.

"...except him." The man straightened out in alarm at her words, and Davy Jones was at her side instantly. "And why not this man, hm?" he asked, his head appearing right next to hers. Enid glared down at the suspicious sailor, whose dark gaze did not waver despite his fear.

"He is not to be trusted," she told Jones. The sailor opened his mouth to protest, but Davy Jones was quick to act. "Then to the depths!" he declared without hesitation. Two men went up behind the sailor and slit his throat before tossing him overboard without a moment's hesitation.

Enid breathed a sigh of relief when the tension within her disappeared, and she sent a smile towards the captain. "That's much better." With that, the three remaining sailors were carried off of the plundered ship and dragged off to the Flying Dutchman.

The rest of the crew followed after them, leaving Enid and Davy Jones to follow at their own pace. "I'm glad you chose to stay after all, my dear," he told her. Enid chuckled quietly and looked up at the captain with an arched brow.

"If I recall, you did not make that easy. Always rushing me off for one reason or another - gods, was that dreadful," she said with a playful eye roll. Davy Jones pursed his thin lips and let out a grunt, stopping at the railing of the ship.

"Would you be so kind as to bring us back to the Dutchman?" he asked her, obviously feigning politeness. "Well, when you put it that way..." Enid's wings then fanned out, and she stepped closer to the captain. "You might want to hang on," she advised, opening her arms.

She then wrapped her arms tightly around Davy Jones' middle and leapt into the air, causing him to gasp. "Dear gods..." he muttered, his arms clenching around her. Enid closed her eyes at the feeling as she carried Davy Jones towards his ship.

The thought that he was holding onto her for safety satisfied the feeling of longing almost completely. The attachment this time around is most strange... Enid carefully landed at the helm on the Flying Dutchman and released Davy Jones, retracting her wings immediately.

The captain merely sent her an awkward nod before hobbling away, and Enid let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Most strange, indeed...

"Why have you never allowed me to teach you how to play the organ?" Davy Jones asked curiously. The two of them sat at the grand instrument later that night, side by side with his leg occasionally brushing against hers.

"I prefer the sound of my voice over any instrument in the world," she replied honestly yet somewhat smugly. "Oh yes...if I could listen to one thing for the last time, it would be your song," Jones told her.

Immediately the captain stopped in the middle of his tune when he spoke, and he sharply turned away to hide his embarrassment. Enid felt her chest tighten once more, and she found herself leaning towards Jones. "Davy..." she said slowly, cautiously.

She stood up from the stool and walked to the other side, but the captain did not lift his head. She rested her hand delicately on his cheek, half expecting Jones to snap at her and push her away. Instead, the captain leaned into her touch and shut his eyes as he let out a sigh.

Enid's eyes widened in both alarm and amazement at the gesture, so she placed her other hand on his shoulder. "You know of my nature...the reason why I remain at the side of sailors," she told him. Jones nestled against her hand a bit more, making her bite her lip nervously.

"Then if my days are truly numbered...I am not ashamed to admit that I am looking forward to spending them with you," he whispered to her. Oh dear gods... Jones stood up abruptly from the stool, catching Enid off-guard and making her stumble backwards.

His arm quickly snaked around her waist and pulled her into his chest before she could fall. She stared up into his pale blue eyes, but the blank look they had adopted was replaced with a soft glow. "I do not think I can lie to myself any longer, my dear..." he told her.

His tight grip on her released ever so slightly, but he did not let her go. "Carving me own heart from me own chest...it allowed me to forget the untameable sea goddess and the guilt and hatred I carried for what I did to her - no matter how much she deserved it," he told her.

Enid's eyes were wide in both fear and anticipation, and her hands rested on his chest as he spoke. "But nothing...nothing could rid the way you have made me feel...heartless or not," he whispered. His claw-arm remained at his side while his other arm tightened its grip once more.

Enid felt her heart pound painfully in her chest as she realized what the captain was telling her. "B-but...I know this cannot be true," she uttered out, "I am a siren...you are but a seduced sailor." Davy Jones let out a sound that resembled a growl before pulling her flush against him.

"Ye think so little of me, lass? As a mindless sailor who falls for the first beauty of the sea he meets?" he hissed out. His warm breath blew over Enid's face as he drew closer, and the tentacles of his face gently latched onto her as well.

"I've been certain of you since that night at Shipwreck Cove...and you remain even now, after all this time," he breathed out. Enid felt a shudder rush through her body at the mere thought of the cursed captain feeling love for a seductress such as herself.

Her heart nearly leapt right out of her chest when Davy Jones rested his forehead against hers. The longing feeling was finally made clear to the young siren in that moment, and one hand that was on his chest was placed on his cheek.

"Enid...my love," he whispered, and Enid could feel his hand crawling up her back. Once it stopped on the back of her head, Davy Jones pulled her closer, but she reacted quickly. "I can't," she hissed out, pressing firmly against his chest.

The soft look in his eyes immediately vanished, and he ripped himself away from Enid. "You lie!" he spat at her. Hurt flashed in the captain's eyes as he glared down at Enid, which made her panic. "No, you must listen!" she protested.

She grabbed at Jones' arm and stopped him from angrily storming out of the cabin. "If I were to ever fall in love with any man...it will kill me," she confessed. Davy Jones whipped around to face her, his arm ripping away from her grasp. "What's this?" he snarled, advancing on her.

Enid did not crumble under the man's harsh glare, but she knew she had a limited amount of time before he would unleash his rage. "If she did not show me the punishment I would face if I were to fall in love, I never would have believed her," she explained to him.

Once again, the two of them stood chest to chest, their gazes locked and Enid's heart racing away. "But the seafloor will be my grave if I stray from my duty...Poseidon himself will see to it," she finally confessed. Enid then closed her eyes and awaited the captain's wrath, taking a deep breath to steady herself.

What she did not expect was the captain to pull her into his embrace once more, every moving limb reaching out to hold her. "My love..." he whispered shakily, his head resting on her shoulder. Her wings suddenly sprouted without warning, but Davy Jones let out a sigh when they wrapped around him.

Enid rested her head against his chest and kept her eyes shut as her arms wound themselves around his torso. "But I pledge myself to you, Davy Jones. So long as I do not confess the forbidden...I will remain by your side until your last day..."

And now you all know the history between our two main characters. I tried my best to make this make as much sense as possible while putting my own little spin on the idea of sirens and their seduction, banshees, mythology, the whole nine yards, so I hope i've done this well XD
