The Beginning Of Kotomi's Life as a Ninja

Two years has passed since then. During those two years, word got out that Sasuke became a rogue ninja. People whispered among themselves, having Kotomi hear when she passes by them.

Many said that eventually, Kotomi would go against the village just like her brothers. It made her blood boil, but there was no point in retaliating. That would only make them think they're right. She will definitely prove them wrong.

During the two year span, Kotomi has been training a lot with Kakashi, feeling like she had gotten a lot better controlling her chakra. It felt like she was much better with her jutsus, especially the sharingan.

Kotomi's training paid off with Kakashi, becoming the first person in her class to become a chunin. At this point, she was aiming to be jonin rank.

Her squad was squad 8. Her good friend, Tsubaki Rui was in her squad along with the guy who he sparred with many times and lost. The guy with long brown hair tied into a low ponytail with gray eyes. Ryusai Shikawa.

Their sensei was a woman with wavy hazelnut hair and brown eyes. Very feminine but strong to say the least. "Monami-sensei, when are we going to have a higher ranked mission?" Tsubaki asked.

Monami smiled. "Since Kotomi became chunin recently, I say that we're going to get one soon."

Ryusai let out a sigh. "Before we get into more high rank missions, we also need to become chunin. I can't believe I failed it. I underestimated it."

Tsubaki rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah... I guess you're right. Kotomi, do you have any pointers for us?"

Kotomi was thinking to herself. "Just like Ryusai said, don't underestimate the chunin exams. When you get to the part where you have to fight someone, don't underestimate them either, and keep calm and focused."

"Thank you, Kotomi! Ryusai and I will definitely become chunin just like you!"

Monami smiled at the sight of her students. "I'll sign the two of you up. Kotomi, you aiming to be a jonin soon, right?"

Kotomi nodded. "That's right."

Her sensei looked impressed. "You are really strong. I can see why since you've been training under Kakashi. He became a jonin around your age, so I can see the same happening with you."

"I know, he told me that a while back. I want to be strong just like him!"

"I believe you will one day."

Kotomi smiled at her sensei. "Thank you so much."

A little later, Kotomi was keeping watch of her two teammates who were training. She was evaluating them, and gave them pointers if they needed it.

Ryusai has two swords in his hands. "Two swords style! Crescent wave jutsu!" As he swung his swords, two flashes of light came out of the sword that were the shape of a crescent. It cut through the targets like paper.

Weaving hand signs, Tsubaki was about to summon a jutsu. "Ice release! Ice shuriken jutsu!" Shurikens made of ice started hitting the targets ahead of him.

Watching with her arms crossed, Kotomi nodded. "Your forms are good, but both of you need to work on your aim a bit more." Their aim was better than average, but their hits at times were sloppy, little or no power in them.

Tsubaki was panting. "Can you show us? I thinking watching you do it would give us a better idea how to work on our aim."

"Sure." Kotomi stepped in, taking out her kunais. Jumping in midair, she was upside down with her eyes closed. She threw a few kunais, and a few more after that.

Each kunai hit against each other, making them go towards each target. Once she landed on the ground, all the kunais hit the bull's eye. She felt just like her brother that time when she saw him do the exact same thing when she was four years old.

Ryusai looked amazed and stunned by her performance. "How do you do it so effortlessly like that?"

"It's all about keeping a calm mind and staying focused."

He nodded like he understood. "Noted."

Tsubaki's eyes sparkled. "Amazing! I want to be able to do that! You have such good aim!"

Kotomi gave him a smile. "I believe that you will be able to accomplish that. Both of you. Are you ready to go at it again?"

Both of them looked serious, saying this in unison. "We're ready!"

"Good. I'll continue watching the two of you." Kotomi started to step back so her teammates could continue with their training. It was best to observe from afar. She wanted her teammates to become strong like her, and believed that if they kept this up, they would be chunin just like her.

The next day, Kotomi was walking by herself in the village. She insisted to her teammates that she would be there for them in their training again, but they wanted her to take it easy for the day. Plus, they wanted to see how they can do without any outside help.

"Kotomi!" Turning around, she saw Konohamaru, Moegi, Udon, and Sakura walking up to her.

Walking up to them as well, Kotomi smiled. "Good afternoon everyone."

"Did you hear the news, Kotomi?!" Konohamaru asked.

"No..? What news?"

"Naruto-niichan is back in the village!"

Kotomi grunted. "Where is he?"

"We don't know, that's why we're trying to find him. Do you want to help?"

The feeling of eagerness started overcoming her. She wanted to see Naruto after not seeing him for a couple years. "Yes."

After a while, they ended up finding Naruto and Jiraiya near a pole. Naruto was standing on top of it, jumping down from it to greet everyone.

Once he was finished greeting Sakura, he turned to Kotomi. "It's been a while, Kotomi-chan! You look like you've become stronger since the last time I saw you!"

Kotomi smiled brightly. "I could say the same to you! You've gotten really tall!"

"I know right?! I went through a bit of a growth spurt!"

"I can see that!"

Konohamaru was now trying to get Naruto's attention. "Hey Naruto-niichan! Check this out!" A puff of smoke surrounded him, he turned into a really busty woman. "Sexy jutsu!"

The reactions were priceless. Jiraiya looked like he was enjoying it a little too much, and Sakura was in shock. Kotomi facepalmed herself. "Really..?"

Konohamaru changed back into himself. "What do you think?"

Naruto softly laughed, not expecting that reaction, making Kotomi somewhat surprised. "I'm not a little kid anymore, Konohamaru." Now she was even more surprised. She was almost convinced that this wasn't really Naruto. But then again, someone can grow up a lot in the span of two years. Thinking that he really changed, his expression was full of passion. "What the hell was that?! Let me show you how it's done with my new pervy ninjutsu!"

Kotomi spoke too soon. Why did she think he changed drastically in that little amount of time? But at the same time, she was glad that he didn't change personality wise. But she knew that he had a lot of strength stored up in his sleeve.

The next minute, Kotomi saw Sakura punch Naruto across the dirt floor. Seeing Konohamaru and his friends hiding behind Jiraiya with a scared expression, she couldn't help but shake her head. "Ah... It feels like the good old days again."

The only missing was her brother. The thought of him made her heart sink. What was he doing for these past two years? She really wanted to see him. Looking over at Naruto who was still getting beaten by Sakura, she knew that eventually Naruto would fulfill that promise, bringing a smile to her face.

A/N: The beginning of Shippuden! This also brings back memories! I was so happy when this episode came out! I remembered that I loved everyone's new design, and looked forward to see what new jutsu they had!
