Luz had spent the morning with Willow, helping her clean the mess in the kitchen. They walked behind the camp so that no one would see her. It was a private facility and Luz could not be there, her new friend told her. She explained how it worked and what that camp was for, it reminded her a bit of her own school in some aspects, for example they used the same colors to differentiate the subjects.

-So you're an illusionist, that's amazing.-

-Yes, although I secretly study other things like my siblings, Mom said that it would be useful to have other tricks up your sleeve in case we get into trouble. Although doing so is already considered a problem.-

-Why?-

-Studying different types of specialties is illegal in my world, they say that this is to maintain order. Now there is a war in my world over that. Many want to have the freedom and power to do multiple specialties, but they only have allowed senior members of the government or families of high birth to do so.-

-So magical worlds also suffer from that kind of thing.-

-This place is more beautiful and peaceful than my world, the sky is blue and the trees are green, it is so strange.-

Hearing footsteps approaching, the witch covered her ears with the hood of her cloak. A dark-skinned boy with a pile of magic items in his hands had approached.

-Willow, I was looking everywhere for you, I want you to see my new magic act!–

Did he say magic? Could humans do magic? They had told him that they did not have that kind of capabilities so how was that boy going to do magic? The boy looked at her in Luz once he saw her, she was not known to him at all so he stayed analyzing face for a few seconds.

-Ehm... Hello.-

She responded shyly, raising her hand at the wizard boy's gaze.

-Gus, this is my new friend, Luz.-

-Hi, my name is Augustus, but you can call me Gus.-

-Hey, Gus.-

-Your face is not familiar, you are also not wearing any uniform here. Have you invaded private property?-

The boy tilted his head with a raised eyebrow worrying Luz.

-Your hair is amazing and that cape is really cool too, is it from some role play or something?-

Luz wanted to answer, but she didn't know what the role-play thing was. So Willow jumped to the rescue.

-She uh... Actually she was in the woods in a photo shoot and she got lost, she ended up coming to the kitchen room where we met and was accompanying her back to where she should be.-

Her intention was good, but her expressions were not so solid, she did not know how to lie, at least the boy was quite credulous and believed everything, she did not have to doubt her friend's words

-Okay, if you're busy I can show you later.–

–I would like to see your magic act, I have some time.-

The hooded one was curious about that human magic. Gus had been excited to hear that, most don't usually show interest in his acts. They were simple tricks, some card tricks, others the reappearance of small objects. Luz was really impressed by the tricks, she wondered how he did that magic without doing any magic circle. Trying to impress more, the magician decided to show the new trick that he learned recently, taking a pigeon out of the galley. This however did not turn out so well, since he was doing it in an outdoor setting the pigeon tried to flee. But with the call from the witch, he came back perching on her hand.

-Wow, are you a Disney princess or something?-

-I studied the care of magical beasts in secret and I have a good affinity with small animals, especially if they fly.-

Said the girl with striking hair as she watched the pigeon and then returned it to its owner.

-You study what?-

Realizing what she said, she insulted herself in her mind, she was so scattered that she forgot that her true self was a secret, it had been a long time since she had conversations this long with people her age.

-That I like small animals and those that fly, pff study? Nobody said anything about studying ha ha ha ha!-

-I'm pretty sure you said study...-

Luz and Willow looked at each other and suddenly the one with glasses took out her cell phone to make an excuse.

–Luz, it's already a bit late, aren't they waiting for you?-

–Oh yes! look at the time I have to go now, my siblings will be upset if I'm not at home.–

–Oh, I still had other tricks.-

Luz didn't want to lose this new friendship she was forming with them so quickly, now she had made the decision not to quit.

-I'll come again and you can show me everything you have.-

Turning to see Willow with a smile on her face.

–Will we meet at the window tomorrow?-

–Okay, I'll wait for you there.-

They both held hands for a second and then Luz ran into the forest. She was very happy, she had just made her first friends in years. She managed to get to the house a few minutes before Eda's strange float returned. When they asked her what she had done while she was alone she said that she had not done anything all day, she also asked Eda what a TV was.
