Ch. 9- Time To Let Go

"George?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm sorry about all this. I'm just worried about you."

"Clay, please don't be worried. It's probably nothing. There's no reason to go."

"Let's go just to be sure. Please?"

"Fine. I'll go."

"Thank you," Dream managed a faint smile.

"Your smile is so stupid," George tried to lighten the mood.

"Not the time Georgie- I mean George,"

"What was that? Say it again."

Dream stayed silent again in an attempt not to laugh. His face was burning. He didn't mean to say that aloud.

"It was cute. The nickname," George smiled.

~~

"Feeling any better?"

The pair was now sitting in the waiting room. George had checked himself in and found a pair of seats beside each other.

"Still cold."

George was motioned back to the doctor's office and pulled Dream along with him. Upon arriving into the room, they sat side by side in a set of chairs along the wall.

"Shoot!" Dream sighed, "I can't find my keys!"

"Maybe you dropped them in the parking lot?"

Suddenly, the doctor entered the room.

"I'll be back," Dream left George with the doctor in the room.

He quickly scurried out the door and left the building. He ran to his car and found the keys sitting on the hood. Odd. He could've sworn he had them in his pocket. Dream shrugged it off and entered the building once again.

The blonde walked back into the doctors office and found the doctor sitting alone, writing on a clipboard.

"Where's George?" Asked Dream as he closed the door.

"I'm sorry?"

"George. I left him in with you."

"You came in here today to meet with me."

"No... I definitely came with George."

"Sir, I believe you're mistaken."

Dream's head began to hurt. He opened the door and speed walked out of the building back to his car. He unlocked his car and opened the door to find George sitting in the passenger seat.

"Done already?" George asked.

"How did you- what?!"

"Are you feeling ok?"

"No- I'm- yeah. I'm fine."

"Ok?"

Dream sat down and buckled his seat belt.

"George, what's going on?"

"You went to the doctor because you weren't feeling well. Don't you remember?"

"No. No I don't. Can I see your hand?"

George placed his hand into Dream's. A shiver ran down his spine again. They were still ice cold. If anything, his hand was colder.

"I'm going insane," Dream released George's hand. He laid his head on the steering wheel and breathed deep, heavy breaths.

"Want me to drive?"

"You cant," Dream mumbled, "You don't have a license." He dropped his head back down.

George unlocked his phone and turned the volume up" Pur of his speakers, the pair's favorite song vibrates through the speakers.

"I had all of you,
then most of you,
some,
and now none of you...
Take me back to the night we met."

George smiled faintly as he pushed a piece of hair away from dream's eye. His green eyes fluttered open to look at the brunette. Dream couldn't help but smile, too. Dream let his head rise as he kept his gaze into George's eyes. George placed his hand on Dream's cheek. His cold hand sent yet another chill down the dirty blonde's entire body.

"Clay, you need to let go."

"What do you mean?"

"You've been holding on too long. It's time to let go."

"But-"

Before Dream could finish, the brunette had softly slipped his lips onto Dream's. The blonde held George's hand and stroked the back of it. Electricity flowed between them. George pulled away and whispered into Dream's ear.

"I love you, Clay. Goodbye."

Dream opened his eyes as he watched his best friend vanish into thin air.
