(I'm so grateful for everyone reading this! I did not think I would even get one reader! But I got five!! I'm so excited and happy! This is part two of the first day! I hope you enjoy!)

You are having a quiet first day and you and grey don't talk much either. You are quite shy so that's maybe why, when you get any calls it's just a misdemeanor or a fights between couples. You do wish to get to know your Sargent more but don't know what to say so you just stay silent.

You then get a call over the radio "I ll just have to say I don't know many codes so"

(Possible homicide at a park)

Sargent grey: copy on our way

You drive to the park where you see Chen and her TO already there

Sargent grey: did you ID the victim?

Sargent Bradford: Yeah Leah Elrod, she  was a teacher at Ohel Chana high school.

Sargent grey: Okay me and officer L/n will inform the family.

Y/n: did she have children?

Officer Chen: two, twins 10yr old and a husband 36yr old.

Y/n: poor children, loosing their mom at such a young age.

Sargent Bradford: yeah it's not as uncommon as you think in LA.

Y/n: well that's sad..

Sargent grey: well we try to keep it down but it's not so easy.

You and grey get into the shop and prepare to tell the husband and kids that their loved one is gone.

You get to the house and step onto the stairs to the front door. You don't know what to do you are dreading seeing the look on the husband's face when you tell him.

Sargent grey: L/n it's okay to feel nervous, it's your first day. Take your time.

Y/n: it's fine it's just I'm a little nervous. I don't feel like seeing someone's heart break first day on the job.

Sargent grey: well it's better to then late into your career

Y/n: I guess you're right..

You knock on the door and one of the kids open.

Y/n: hey kid is your dad home?

Twin 1: no he and mom went to walk the dog!

Y/n: he is with your mom?

Twin 1: Yes!

You look at Sargent grey with a concerned face and he looks at you with the same look

He grabs his radio and ask for someone to come for the children and for a detective.

The detective and two other officers who aren't so important shows up

Detective Lopez: Can I get some intel on the situation?

A woman enters the house

Y/n: we found the mom, Leah Elrod dead in the park. Me and Sargent grey went to inform the family but one of the twins answer the door, we ask for the dad but the twin tells us that he and leah went out with the dog. And the dad has not been seen since.

Detective Lopez: well I need to get a look at the body and we need to find the father.

It's sent out a message to every available unit to look for the missing man but he is nowhere to be seen. You've been looking for hours to find him but he's just gone without a trace.

It's the end of shift and you feel defeated on your first day.

You are in the locker room changing when you notice someone getting changed behind you.

Y/n: oh! Officer Chen I didn't see you come in?

Officer Chen: yeah I came in a minute after you, you probably didn't hear me.

Y/n: yeah probably.

Officer Chen: so how was your first day as a part of the LAPD?

Y/n: honestly kind of sad..

Officer Chen: yeah a murder first day is pretty bad.

Y/n: how was your first day then?

Officer Chen: well I guess mine was bad too..?

Y/n: how so?

Officer Chen: well Tim was a pain in my ass, and he got shot my first day.

Y/n: Tim?

Officer Chen: my TO/Sargent Bradford.

Y/n: of him! He really got shot your first shift!?

Officer Chen: yeah and I saved his life first day on the job!

She looks super proud and you chuckle at her as she jokes about it

Y/n: I'm thinking my first day wasn't so bad.

Officer Chen: well not as cool as mine but yours was still pretty bad tho.

Y/n: I'm so glad you are here I don't think I ll survive without you!

*time skip you are now in your apartment*

Y/n: I'm so tired I can't even eat!

You sit yourself on your bed and you decide to watch some episodes of your favorite show but before you can reach for your phone you fall asleep
