Chapter XXXIII • Back To The Pack

I stand in front of my brother's manor, it was mid day and me and Alpha Moon had already travelled back. He wanted me to see my brothers, because they were worried, as I had predicted when I left. I just hope they aren't mad at me for leaving, without telling them.

I gulp and my mate knocks on the door for me. Damien's mate answers the door, I forgot her name. I remembered she was a bit snobby. She freezes up when she notices Alpha Moon.

"C-come in Alpha Moon and Fluffy," she stutters, bowing. I raise an eyebrow at my mate, he was feared more than I had thought. We walk inside and I turn to face her.

"I thought you were a part of Wyatt's pack?" I question her.

She looks up at me, "Alpha Xavier and Alpha Xander traded for us." I nod and thank her, catching up to my mate.

We enter my brothers' office, which was messy. I bite my lip, they needed to tidy up if they weren't going to do it, I just might.

"Poppy!" I'm tackled to the ground, embraced in two pairs of arms.

I smile, "Hi," I say quietly. I felt awkward since I did leave them without a words.

The look up at me and pull me off the ground, "We are upset that you left. Why did you leave?" they ask in unison.

I sit down on the couch, "I was worried, worried for everybody's safety. After I almost died i'm the hospital, I knew it wasn't safe to be around people. I know it can spread," I tell them.

They look at each other then down at me. Xavier sits to my left and Xander to my right. My mate just stood in front of me. "We have some news," Xavier says, playing with my hair, braiding it.

I turn towards him, "And exactly what is that?" I ask him. He seemed like he didn't want to talk about it, but he was forced to.

"The doctor came up with results," Xander says, braiding the other side of my hair.

"And...?" I say impatient, I wanted to know, now. Not even ten seconds later than now.

They look at me, stopping their braiding, "Everything you've experienced wasn't Elldentradion. Mater of a fact, it's not even real," they say.

I stand up, pulling away from them. I even bump into my mate's back. "Excuse me?" I say, a bit ticked off. How could it not be real? I saw my parents burn. The doctor's earlier results showed a part of my brain was burning!

They stand up and enclose me, "Your body hasn't coped with our parent's death," Xavier starts.

"And your wolf started to hurt you, messing with your mind," Xander adds.

"Elldentradion isn't real. Our parents died in a fire," Xavier finishes the conversation.

I freeze up, it wasn't real? But I read it! That was good enough proof. "No! It can't be! I saw it in a diary at the Howler Manor!" I shout, shrinking to the floor.

The three figures hovered above me. "The Howler Pack was attacked, a bio weapon. Just a common wolf disease," Xander tells me.

My mate sits down on the floor, next to me. "Shh," he coos, knowing I wasn't okay. I didn't believe them, I didn't want to. I couldn't! The doctor had to be lying! I've seen everything with my own eyes...

Soon enough my brothers were on the floor too. "We are sorry Poppy, we just found out," they say, touching my cheeks.

I look away, tears in my eyes. My goal in life was to find the cure for Elldentradion. But it isn't even real! I must seem like a fool, a stupid, little fool. I let out a sniffle and my mate hugs me.

"Shhh, Fluffy, you're going to be okay," he tells me, but I just shake my head no.

"I won't be. The only reason I became an Alpha, the only reason I went to the Alpha meeting was to find the cure for Elldentradion." I sob, I lived for it, I was obsessed.

"Poppy, you doing that led werewolf researchers to find out that Elldentradion wasn't real," Xavier's says, petting my hair like a cat's tail.

I look at him confused, "What?" I say confused, as I wiped tears from my eyes.

"We gave the research you had to the top werewolf researchers in the world. They figured out what happened to the Howler Pack, and you, and our parents," he smiles lightly. I had a notebook full of my dreams and things I found out about Elldentradion. Including all those books in my manor.

"Yeah, so you did do something, something big," Xander leans in close. "Boop," he pokes my nose and I smile lightly. My cheeks were probably red and tear-stained.

Alpha Moon pulls me onto his lap, "My mate is a hero," he sings a little tune, repeating the same thing over and over till I laughed.

"So what really happened to everyone?" I ask out of curiosity, they gave me a small amount of information.

"Well, our parents. The researchers read your diary, and asked us about it. Before you left they went to our old home and examined it. Turns out that there was a wildfire that day and we were caught in it. You were so small then, your brain scrambled up what happened. And as for us, we forgot what really happened that day. We were burned badly though," the twins tell me. I nod, continuing to listen.

"Then there's the Howler Pack. We found records deep in the pack house, including telegram notes. It stated people were going crazy from a bioweapon made by a group of rogues- who also died from their own weapon."

"Woah," I say, surprised. It was all starting to make sense now. Everything, everything had a logical explanation. I ended up chasing nothing. I feel bad for not realizing it sooner, but- Elldentradion led me o these fine people.

"You know what?" they all look up at my sudden change in mood. "If I hadn't become set on finding a cure for Elldentradion, then I would never have met any of you. I'd still be sheltered away in that manor," I say, smiling lightly.

They look at each other, "And O wouldn't have met my mate," Alpha Moon adds.

"And, we wouldn't have found our sister," Xavier and Xander add as well.

I nod, smiling. I don't know why I feel happy. I feel relieved, maybe from the fact I did t have to chase down the cure for a sickness that didn't even exist anymore.

"So, are you going to return to the Howler Pack?" Xander asks me.

I look up at the ceiling lights, I never thought about returning, I only left a few days ago. I don't know what'd be an upside to returning to the pack. I mean my mate is already an Alpha.

"If you do," I turn to look at Xavier, "You and your mate, Terrance, could combine packs. Even if you have no members, you'd still get stronger."

I look up at my mate and he smiles, we were in this together.

"Well, I guess I better become Alpha again," I stick my tongue out and my mate pinches my tongue. I look at him funny and he shrugs at me.
