"You're about twelve weeks pregnant." The doctor stated as he removed the ultrasound camera from her stomach. Rome exhaled slowly and looked over at Nichole who shot her a sheepish smile. It was the day before their flight to New York and Nichole wanted to make sure everything was perfect. She wanted to make sure everyone was ready to move on and forget about this chapter in their lives.

Including herself.

"Twelve weeks..shit." Rome sighed as she ran a hand down her face. The doctor shot her a sympathetic smile and walked out to give the two women privacy.

"What? What does that mean?" Nichole asked. Rome swallowed hard before groaning and laying her face in her hands, her curly hair covering her body. Nichole clenched her hands in fists, a habit she has when she's nervous. She wasn't sure how to comfort the woman that let out a small sob in front of her.

"Why are you crying?" Nichole asked quietly. Rome looked up at her with a look of uncertainty but then sighed.

"The baby is definitely Melanies." Rome breathed shakily. Nichole shot her a confused look as she slowly sat down on the chair that was next to the bed.

"How?" Nichole asked. Rome chuckled humorlessly, forgetting that both Natalia and Melanie's anatomies were different than the two women that sat in the gynecology room.

"Well..Natalia and Melanie are intersex, and I was worried the baby would be Natalia's because all four of us had a different relationship dynamic."

"Poly.." Nichole whispered suddenly, it being an unconscious gesture as she thought about the dynamic.

"Yeah..that." Rome stated skeptically before looking down at her hands as she played with her fingernails.

"Well what do you want to do?" Nichole asked. Rome shrugged her shoulders and felt the tears well up in her eyes.

"Well she blocked me on everything so I don't know how I'm going to reach h-"

"I can handle that." Nichole stated with a smile that made Rome laugh before nodding, the tears streaming down her face.

"Okay."

"So.. you're sure you don't want me to come?" Natalia asked Rome for the thirtieth time. They were in Rome's hotel room, Natalia eating the complimentary fruit basket they left on the counter in the kitchenette. Nichole was standing next to Rome with her hands behind her back as she looked in between the two women.

"I'm sure. You and Becca have other things to worry about." Rome breathed. Natalia sighed, biting into the strawberry she picked from the basket.

"Make sure to call me and let me know what happened. We meet at the airport six am. Make sure to text me, and Rebecca. She's worried about you."

Rome nodded and gasped lowly as Natalia suddenly pulled her into a tight hug, before kissing her forehead and pulling away. Nichole watched as Rome smiled softly, before grabbing her briefcase and walking to the door, following her suit. They reached the car and Nichole slipped into the passengers seat while Rome slipped into the back, Angelica sitting behind the wheel.

"Ready?" She asked the two women who just entered the car. Rome nodded and Angelica drove off. The ride to Melanie's hotel was slow. Rome kept thinking of all the different things that could occur.

What if she takes me back?

I doubt it.

Rome stared at the room number as her hands shook by her sides. She had Nichole wait for her in the lobby while she came up here to speak to Melanie. She swallowed hard before knocking on the door. She waited for a second, before knocking again. There was soft shuffling from behind the door and the latch unlocked, the wooden frame pulling open.

"I-oh. You're definitely not room service." The tall woman chuckled as Rome stared up at her in utter shock. The woman was tall, at least six feet. She was athletically built yet slender, her thighs thick but the rest of her body slim. Her hair was long and blonde as the curls sat on her shoulders. Her facial features were sharp, her hazel eyes pointy and cat-like. Rome just continued to stare in shock, the thoughts swirling in her head.

She looks like Natalia! What the fuck?! Melanie...Melanie what the fuck?!

The woman just cleared her throat and leaned against the door frame as she waited awkwardly for Rome to speak. Rome couldn't help but continue to let her eyes wander around the woman's body. She didn't know whether to feel insecure that it's only been three weeks and Melanie already found someone new and prettier, or if she should be amused at the fact that this new person looks like a feminine version of Natalia.

"I'm here for Melanie." Rome stated quietly after clearing her throat. The woman nodded and turned slightly to look inside the room and called out for Melanie, Romes heart thumping in her chest.

Melanie walked over to the door and stared at Rome for a second. Her eyes traveled over her body and she swallowed hard before meeting her crystal blue eyes. Melanie looked different. Her eyes had bags under them and they were blood shot. Her locs were cut into a bob and sat just below her jaw line.

"What do you want?" Melanie asked blandly. Rome furrowed her brows and continued to analyze Melanie's face before speaking.

"I'm pregnant and it's yours."

Melanie blinked, a blank expression on her face as her eyes searched Romes. She knew she was telling the truth considering they didn't use protection.

"And?" Melanie asked as she shrugged. Rome snarled as she shot her a grimace that was filled with disgust.

"Melanie what the hell do you mean 'and'? I'm
pregnant with YOUR child. That doesn't mean anything to you?" Rome asked as she clenched her fists. Melanie smirked lowly, the blank expression still on her face.

"Sorry to say, but no, no it doesn't. I meant it when I said I want nothing to do with any of you. Good luck though." Melanie stated before attempting to close the door shut. Rome managed to catch the door before it closed and pushed it open, glaring up at Melanie.

"Fine. Your child may not mean anything to you, but I know who does. She looks familiar, right?" Rome scoffed as she nodded toward the woman who just watched the two ex lovers fight.

Melanie clenched her jaw and fists as she glared at Rome with menace. She wanted nothing more than the woman to leave and never come back. She didn't care that she was pregnant. She wanted nothing to do with any of it.

"Watch your fucking mouth."

"At least you know it's true. Just remember the copycat will never be as good as the original. I'll relay the message though." Rome spat. Before she could do anything, Melanie had her pinned against the wall with her elbow lodged onto her throat, choking Rome as she trapped her against the wall.

"You shut your fucking mouth. You say NOTHING, you stupid bitch. I don't know why I bothered with someone like you."

Rome struggled to breath, clawing at Melanie's elbow as she felt herself become light headed from the lack of oxygen. Melanie smirked as she watched the woman fight for air, ignoring her new lover as she screamed for her to stop.

"Shut the fuck up and get back inside!" Melanie yelled as she twisted around to slap the young woman who tried to stop her. Rome gasped as she dropped to the ground, coughing and sputtering as the tears streamed down her face. The young woman held her face as she stared at Melanie with a look that told Rome this wasn't the first time she's hit her and it broke her heart.

"I wish you the best. I really do. You've turned into a monster." Rome spat as she stood, glaring at Melanie.

"Yeah yeah, I could care less. I hope the baby doesn't die." With that, Melanie slammed the door, those last words haunting Rome as she massaged her now bruised throat. She felt as if she was floating as she waited for the elevator, trying her best not to break down.

The elevator doors opened and Nichole watched as Rome walked toward her with a blank expression on her face. Nichole's eyes dropped to the bruise that sat on her neck and she grew angry as Rome continued to stare at her with large empty eyes.

"A-"

Before Nichole could finish her sentence, Rome fell into the tall woman's arms, sobbing into her chest as she clung to her trench coat as if her life depended on it.

"It's over. Let's just go."
