when lily was pregnant she and James thought that Annabelle was a boy so they aborted her and that when they gave harry a doll he named it Annabelle because he saw the spirit of Annabelle so he gave her a doll body to live with them and harry gave her a necklace that has spells on to protect her from their parents and bullies
