Arc 2: Seven Monsters of Antharia

Normal POV

After the wedding, Zeon settled in the castle with Elizabeth. It left the girls wondering, 'what happened to the rest of the monsters?'

So they set on a journey to obliterate every single monster of Antharia to inexistence. Which brings us to now...

"Hey, Alexia? Are you sure we're going the right way?"

"Yeah, of course we are! At least I'm not a stupid idiot who can't read maps, unlike someone."

"Excuse me? It's not my fault I read the map backwards!"

"It kinda is, Cass."

"Shut up, Kris. You're not the one who's reading the map! Why don't you give it a try?"

"Fine then!" Kristina snatched the map off Alexia's hands, earning a "Hey!" from the girl.

"I didn't mean it..." Cassandra mumbled quietly, but loud enough for her sisters to hear. They rolled their eyes at each other and started walking, Kristina leading the way. Cassandra followed after them soon afterwards.

I bet that you, dear reader, are wondering about one thing, aren't you? No, she's not. She learned her lesson.

After a couple of minutes, Kristina stopped walking and looked at the map in confusion.

"The map says we're here, but there is nothing in this place!" She said. They were standing in the middle of a huge desert, cacti surrounding them.

Alexia and Cassandra leaned over to look at the map. It does, in fact, say that they have arrived to the lair of the Sixth Monster of Antharia.

"You sure the map isn't upside down or something?" Cassandra asked. Kristina checked, but shook her head afterwards. "No."

"Hmm... Something fishy is going on here..." Alexia said, scratching her imaginary beard.

The other two nodded. Cassandra started to walk around, trying to check if there was some sort of secret hidden here somewhere. Kristina imitated her and crawled on the sands, trying to see if there was a button or something.

Alexia on the other hand, walked towards a nearby cactus in weird fascination. "This cactus looks cute."

Cassandra started to crack up silently and Kristina whispered, "What the hell?".

But their expressions suddenly changed to a horrified look when Alexia touched the cactus and the ground began to shake.

"WHAT?! I DIDN'T KNOW CACTUSES COULD DO THESE KIND OF THINGS!" She screamed, panicking.

A huge snake head started to poke up on the sands, terrifying the girls even more. The snake head rose up, showing its whole body. Cassandra attempted to run, but was held back by Kristina.

"This is it. The Sixth Monster of Antharia, the Sand Serpent!"

"Elemental Create Magic: Wind-TERRIFYING TORNADO!" Alexia shouted at the top of her lungs, while forming a powerful tornado directly above the monster. Successfully, it did manage to tear apart the snake bit by bit. Grain by grain.

The girls high-fived each other in celebration.

"It was nothing." Alexia repeated boastfully about her accomplishment.

"Don't celebrate too soon." Said an anonymous, dark voice. The creepy saying was followed by the most evil laughter known to mankind.

As a long figure re-assembled the girls stood there in shock.

Could it be?

The Sand Serpent. No. The Ultra Sand Serpent.

"How could its size multiply by this much?!" Cassandra screamed.

"IT WAS JUST DEAD!" Kristina panicked.

"Ho-how did it survive?" Alexia stuttered in utter fear.

"Yeah yeah. You killed the sssssseventh monssssster, the firsssssst, and even the eighth. Impressssssive indead. However, you didn't kill them? Did you? And it lookssss like your little friend isssssn't here right now. Poor, puny humansssss. Muahaha." The Serpent stated. All of these facts they are true.

All except the last sentence.

"You know your pretty boastful for a snake. Looks like we are going to have to kill you after all." Kristina exclaimed whilst cracking her knuckles. The monster widened its eyes in surprise.

"And I was actually thinking of sparing you from my wrath. All because you didn't hit the adorable cactus when you came out of your hiding-hole!" Alexia said.

Ahhh...Alexia and her cacti...

Cassandra signaled the girls to prepare to attack.

"Let's see if you can do the most to entertain me."

"When it comes to men, I serve to please." (Copyright 2016 to Fairy Tail Manga, Chapter 488) Kristina said while hair-flipping like a boss.

Cassandra and Alexia shared an eye roll.

Alexia initiated the countdown to attack.

Three...

Two...

One.

Prepare for suffer.

The three struck the monster with their most recent attacks that they had learnt. Even though they had never been used before, the result was truly devastating.

A large blue beam struck through the monsters head. A large water beam to be more precise.

In an instant, the limbs around the direct hit of the beam, soaked up the water and hardened. The monster fell to the ground, defeated.

"One down, Four to go." Cassandra muttered.

It only got harder from then on.

"Should we just camp here?"

"Yeah, sure. Seems like a pretty great place to set camp."

"I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not..."

"OF COURSE I'M BEING SARCASTIC. WHO WOULD WANT TO CAMP OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS, HMM?!"

"Everybody does that..."

"AND ANYWAY, IT'S SCARY HERE!"

"It's supposed to be scary..."

"AND ALSO, IT'S SO WOODY, I MEAN COME ON!"

"It's a forest. It should be woody..."

"AND--!"

"OH MY GOD GUYS! MAKE UP YOUR GOD DAMNED MINDS!" Kristina shouted in exasperation. "I'm so tired."

"It's not my fault Cassandra over there is being difficult," Alexia said, crossing her arms.

"Excuse me? It's not my fault I don't want to camp in a forest full of dirty little creatures," Cassandra said, raising her eyebrows.

"Okay, it's settled. We're camping out here." Kristina said, pulling out the tent from the bag they brought.

Alexia smirked at Cassandra triumphantly and started to help Kristina in setting up the tent.

Once the tent was ready and they had a small fire going, Kristina headed towards the tent, ready to sleep her ass off.

But before she could enter, Alexia stopped her.

"But Kriiiiiiiiis! We haven't even told some scary stories yet." She whined. Kristina's face lit up and Cassandra's eyes went wide.

"NO. NO SCARY STORIES. I ALREADY AGREED TO CAMP HERE, AND NOW YOU'RE SAYING WE SHOULD TELL SOME SCARY STORIES?!? NOPE, NOPE, NOPE. BYE FELICIA, I'M OUTTA HERE." She said, storming towards the tent.

"You're no fun, Cass." Kristina pouted. "It's just a scary story. Not like it's real anyway."

"You just jinxed it, dude." Alexia whispered, and they started giggling mockingly.

"Oh fine then!" Cassandra said, giving in. She walked grumpily towards Kristina and Alexia, who were sitting on the ground next to the fire.

"I'll go first." Kristina said. Cassandra started shaking and Alexia grinned excitedly.

"One night, three girls were camping in the woods, just like us. They were also sisters, just like us.

The eldest one didn't want to camp in the forest. The middle one just wanted to rest, while the youngest was eager to listen to a scary story. Just like us.

While the middle one told her story, they were unaware of their surroundings. Some rustling can be heard, but none of them noticed. A figure smirked as she watched over the sisters and laughed, but none of them noticed.

The trees were swaying under the moonlight. Howling of the wolves can be heard from even a mile away. The youngest one was so interested in her sister's story that they didn't notice the oldest one disappear.

The moment the middle one finished her story, she asked her sisters if she scared them. The youngest said that it was awesome. They waited for the eldest to reply, but she didn't. They waited and waited until a scream broke through the silence. The middle sister started to look terrified and the youngest sister looked around her surroundings, looking scared.

A cloaked figure emerged from the woods, holding the eldest sister. The figure dropped the eldest on the dirty ground, blood flowing from her body. The other sisters tried to escape but it was too late. Their numb bodies dropped down next to their older sister's. They died. All because they didn't notice, just like us."

"That was awesome, Kris!" Alexia said. "Right, Cass?"

Silence.

"Cass?"

Silence.

"Cassandra?!"

Silence.

"You're faking aren't you? Just come out!"

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" An all too familiar voice screeched from a distance.

Alexia and Kristina exchanged horrified looks. "Cassandra? Don't scare us..."

"Cassandra? This isn't funny anymore."

"Hahaha! I gotcha good, didn't I?" Cassandra said, coming out from the treeline. Kristina and Alexia sighed in relief.

"We thought you were actually gone!" Alexia said.

"I know right. I swear I was about to flip!" Kristina commented.

The girls laughed together.

"But seriously, that was freaking scary, Kristina!" Cassandra said, giving her sister a pat on the back.

"Thanks. I'm the best at--," Kristina stopped and looked behind Cassandra. Her eyes widened.

Cassandra made a confused look. "Kristina?"

Alexia followed her line of sight. When she reached the end, she froze as well.

Now Cassandra is really confused. "Guys, you better not be joking around right now..."

Kristina and Alexia didn't budge, so Cassandra looked behind her to see what was going on.

But what she saw, was not expected.

And the Fifth Monster of Antharia, the Nightmare, shows herself.
