Chapter 5

Three weeks later…

Kaliyah sat by Drake and their newest friend Scorpius, as they sat in the great hall for an important announcement. They watched as the other houses started glancing around anxiously as they waited for the head mistress McGonagall, she was the head of house for Gryffindor, but took the position as head mistress after Dumbledor had died. She watched as McGonagall walked in followed by the teachers and a  pale young boy with dark brown hair and matching dark brown eyes.

“Attention students we have a new first year joining us. His name’s Corwen Riddle.” McGonagall announced. “The sorting hat has already placed him in Slytherin so welcome him as you would your classmates.”

Corwen gracefully walked over to the Slytherin table and sat by Drake, there were mutters coming from the other tables as they recognized his last name and Kaliyah noticed the teachers casting nervous glances at him.

“So this is Hogwarts… full of mudbloods and blood traitors.” He remarked.

“Yeah, so your Tom Riddle’s son?” Scorpius stated.

            “What about that?”

“Nothing… but is it true that you’re going to finish what your father started?”

“I don’t know, I guess you’ll just have to find out.”

They were ushered out of the dinning hall and back to their dormitories for the rest of the day. Drake and Scorpius sat on the couch across from Kaliyah as she stared at the fire, Corwen had been led to his new room by some other Slytherin student and the room was buzzing with people talking about Voldamort and Corwen Riddle.

“So who do you think the mother was?” Drake asked.

“I don’t know… don’t tell me your going to talk about the new kid like everyone else.” Kaliyah sighed and gave them a glare.

“Well there isn’t really anything else to talk about.”

“Then don’t talk at all. In fact don’t you have any homework to do?”

“I already got some Ravenclaw kid to do it for us.” Scorpius boasted.

“Yeah, and besides we don’t have any classes today because of the new kid.” Drake added.

“Then leave me alone, all this talk of Corwen is giving me a headache” She snapped.

They glowered at her and headed towards the boy’s dormitories, as they left she heard Drake asking Scorpius about how Corwen was right about the school going to the dogs. Of course she agreed with them but wasn’t going to call them back and have another conversation about Voldamort’s kid. She sighed and took out a chocolate frog to eat as a snack, looking at the card she saw it was of the famous Harry Potter, her parents had taught her at a young age that he was a arrogant show off. Suddenly someone clearing their throat broke her out of her thoughts and see looked up to see Corwen standing in front of her.

“What do you want?” She growled.

“I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind showing me around… I’d like to know where my classes are.” He said in a charming matter.

“Why don’t you get the others to show you around?”

“They all seem to be busy.”

Kaliyah sighed again and got up, she waved at him to follow her so she could show him around.
