Chapter 5: The First Training Session

"Sophie wake up!" I felt Lily shaking me awake, she threw a mid length blue dress at me to put on. After the dress was on she started doing my hair, she put it into two French braids into a ponytail. She put a little bit on neutral makeup on me. She then shooed me out of my room and told me to go to the dining room.
While walking, I bumped into something kinda hard. I looked up from where I fell, then quickly fumbled my way into a curtsy.
"I'm so sorry Your Majesty," I spoke, nervously.
"You, must be Sophie, if I remember correctly, the girl that the advisors told me about." He said in a calming sort of way.   I came up from my curtsy and nodded.
"Is it okay if I try and probe you? Just to try and figure out what the advisors were trying to explain."  He asked.
"Of course," I replied. Looks of confusion swept over his face.
"Hmm, very interesting, you're not blocking are you?" He asked very calmly. I shook my head no, as I had never even learned how to block minds.
"Well thank you Sophie, we will continue with this in your training session." He said while I bobbed into another curtsy. I then continued on my way to the dining room.

Some of the other girls were there already, so I went to go find my seat. Marella was already there, talking to the girl beside her. Marella introduced this girl as Linh. I already knew we would all be good friends. We started talking about our families and where we were from.

"Hello, may I please sit with you?" A beautiful brunette asked.
"Of course," I replied, motioning for her to sit in the open seat beside me.
"Well, my name's Biana, what's yours?" She barely got out before Marella, Linh and I fumbled into curtsy's. Which is actually really hard to do while sitting.
"You really don't have to be that formal to me, unless it's one of the interviews of course, in fact I'd prefer you not being so formal with me." She laughed. We then started chatting while breakfast was served.

"So, Sophie what's your ability, or abilities?" Biana questioned after we finished eating.
"Well, I'm a polyglot, enhancer, inflictor, telepath, as well as I just recently learned I can teleport." I list, while I see all of their eyes go wide, my checks start heating up because of this.
"Yikes, that's a lot, I'm only a vanisher," Biana says amazed.
"Vanishing is so cool though, you can practically turn invisible when ever you wish!" I smile.
"Hello everyone!" His majesty, Alden announces. "Ladies, it's time for your training sessions, please start heading to them, thank you, you are dismissed." He finishes, then turning to Prince Fitz.

It turned out for each ability that needed practicing there would be an hour of class. I only ended up only needing a class for inflicting, enhancing and telepathy. Inflicting was okay, I've never really had a proper mentor for it so I learned a lot in that class.

Once I got to enhancing, I learned that I'd basically be sitting and waiting because my mentor for it hadn't arrived yet. It was probably the most boring hour of my life.

Telepathy however was a completely different story I realized once I opened the door to find a completely full room.
"Ah good, you've arrived Sophie." King Alden said to me once I entered the room, with tons of heads turning towards me.
"So, if it's alright with you we will have this group of people each try to probe you to try and figure out the best action plan for your mentoring." He smiled, and I agreed to having them all try and probe me.

After what seemed like forever we had gotten through everybody, but none had succeeded.
"Well it seems as though I was right about who will need to be your mentor." King Alden sighed, mumbling something like "hopefully he'll agree to take on another student."
"Who will it be?" I asked him.
"Sir Tiergan, hopefully." He sighed again, while I nod.
"Miss Sophie, Princess Biana requests your presence." A maid said while rushing into the room, King Alden nods dismissing me. The maid then brings me to her.

"How was your classes today?" Biana asks once I meet up with her in one of the sitting rooms.
"Good, I learned the most in inflicting, my mentor hadn't arrived yet for enhancing and I learned I'd be having Sir Tiergan as my telepathy mentor." I said, while noticing how Biana's eyebrows rose one I mentioned Sir Tiergan. A split second later she burst into a fit of giggles.
"What?" I ask confused.
"I'm not telling you!" She laughed even harder. We chatted a little while longer before returning to our rooms to rest before lunch.
