Chapter Eight - Home Again

3/3-3/5/15

"Princess Azula! Beautiful and clever, disguise herself as the enemy and ventured inside of the Earth Kingdom." One of the twins say to the crowd below. "In Ba Sing Sai, she found her brother Zuko, and together they faced the Avatar with their new friend Arabella." The other one says.

"And the Avatar fell! And the Earth Kingdom fell!"

I cringe a little inside when they tell the story of how the Earth Kingdom fell. "And now, your hero's have returned! Princess Azula!" She walked past me giving me a look no one has given me. It was of good luck.

The crowd cheered once she got to the edge of the balcony. "After 3 long years, your prince has returned! Prince Zuko." I didn't look at him, and he didn't look at me. Cheers sounded once more.

The other night on the boat I was about to make up with him, but Mai beat me to him. That's when I saw them kiss. I just couldn't look at him right now. "After 6 years of being away from the Fire Nation, Arabella Black has returned!"

I breathed in walking out to stand beside Zuko. Cheers erupted as I looked down at them all.

"Father would like you to join us at supper tonight. Can I count you in?" I look over at Azula and smile. "I'd love to." She nods. "I'll send someone to come find you once it's ready. Maybe Zuko can give you a tour to help you out a bit."

Azula walked off as I look over at Zuko. "You don't have to give me one. I'll just walk around for a bit." I sighed walking off only to have my hand grabbed. "I'll give you a tour. I don't want you to get lost." He gave me a small smile. I smile back.

He showed me where everything is and even gave me a tour of the kitchen when I grabbed something to eat. Before I knew it, we were in the dining hall having a cup of tea like old times. "Thank you for the tour, but just because Azula tells you to do it, you don't have to. I got the message the other day." I got up and handed the cup to the man in the hall.

"Arabella. Come on. Don't do this." He catches up to me and I only smile. "Do what? I didn't know I was doing anything." He stopped and threw his hands in the air before walking the other way. I frowned knowing I did that myself.

I make my way up the many stairs to my room Azula had put together for me. Truthfully, I was thankful she took me in because I probably wouldn't have been able to find a house for a while. This place just has too much memories.

I walk out on the balcony to see the sky dark with storm clouds. "Already going to rain? I haven't been here but two days."

"Miss Arabella?" I look back inside to see a man bowing. "Dinner is served." He led me downstairs to the dining hall I was just in a while ago.

I bow my head once I get into the room. "It's an honor to meet you Firelord Ozai." I look back up at him. "Please have a seat Arabella. You are our honored guest. I can't thank you enough for helping my children." I nod sitting down in the seat the man had pulled out for me.

"So, tell me Arabella, how have your travels been? I know you've been gone for 6 years, so you must have done something." I take a sip of my drink thinking over the question. "For the most part I've been traveling the world. I never stayed in one spot for too long. I didn't want to get close to too many people."

Ozai asked me questions about the places I've been and other things. I felt like I was in an interview. After I finished my last grape, I excused myself before going towards the windows in the hall. It had stopped raining.

"You can go outside. I don't want to keep you from anything." I turn around to see Ozai walking down the hall.

I walk outside the gates and head into town looking at everything. It's just as I remember it. That's right, I'm from the Fire Nation capital. Now you know why I ran off so fast.

I breath it in walking down the street more to see my favorite rice shop. They serve rice with all kinds of stuff. "Rice covered in gravy with squid as the side please." I say looking at all of the delicious sides.

"Make that two please." I turn to my side to see a guy that looked similar to Jet but had black hair. "Name is Mason. Who might you be beautiful?" He pays for my bowl and I walk away. "Come on, I meant no harm. Please come and join me."

Mason had a chair pulled out looking at me. I sigh going back and sitting down. "Arabella." I say breaking my chopsticks and eating. A moan left my throat. I forgot how good this stuff was. "You're the Arabella that just came back right?"

I look at to see him smiling. "Yeah. I just got back." Now that I was announced over the whole capital, everyone knows who I am really. Truthfully, I'm the only girl in the whole capital that has red hair. I get it from my father's side.

"You're a lot prettier up close." Mason says putting his bowl aside. "Thanks." I smile a sad one as I drink the broth. "That smile. It's not a good one." I stand up and push in my seat.

"Thank you for the meal. By the way, flirting will not get you anywhere Mason. Hopefully we meet again." He nods taking my bowl.

"Miss Arabella." I look over to see the same man from earlier. "Prince Zuko request's your presents." He wants me right now? "Goodbye." I wave following the man back to the castle. "He's in the library."

I walk down the hall before going up the stairs and turning left. "Zuko?" I ask walking in and looking around. There are so many books.

"Over here." Zuko says sticking his hand out. I walk over before I'm against the bookcase. "They're onto it. At least Azula is." He looks over the corner.

"About what?" He looks down at my hand before bringing it to his scar. "The Avatar. Katara had the spirit water, remember?" Relief rushed through me. Anng has to be alive!

"We have to do something about it before Father and Azula finds out." I look up at him shocked before frowning. That's when I noticed my hand was still on his scar. Right when I took it away, he caught it.

"I like your hand." I blushed as he leaned in a bit. As our lips were about to touch, I broke free and back into reality.

"So, what are you going to do about him?" I ask getting out from under his arms. "I really haven't figured it out yet." He rubs his forehead looking down. "You better get some sleep Arabella." I look over at him before he came closer to me.

"Goodnight." He kissed my forehead lingering for a second. "Goodnight." I say as he walks out the door.
