Carmen's POV

"Damn it! they're following us!" I heard Damon yell. I swore myself as I could hear the tiny pops that sometimes associate with shifting. "You have got to be kidding!" I groaned. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Jordan shake her head no. "Nope! not kiddin- oh!" she was cut off as one of the wolves jumped and almost sunk its claws into Peaches's rear. I gave a good kick and we sped up. Damon followed.

"Plan F! Plan F!" I could hear Jordan shouting! I sent a stream of fire at the direction of the racing wolves and heard several whines. "The lands are in sight!" Damon called. I saw the familiar tree line that marked the edge of our territory. "Argh! they're gaining!" Damon bellowed.

"Just give the horse another kick! It won't hurt him but he'll go faster! They'll leave us alone at the boundary line!" I bellowed back. The boundary line got closer and closer and we were soon across. I turned to smirk at the wolves unable to cross only to find that they were right behind me. I halted Peaches and dismounted. Damon jumped down too.

He turned to help Jordan down and I saw one word on his lips. Mate. I smiled slightly and faced the wolves. The lead one came up, a large blond wolf. Curtis. I sneered and sent out a kick, connecting with his jaw. He whined and the other wolves crowded around him.

"Aww, stop groveling." I said, mocking them. The wolf crowd dispersed and they turned back to me. Curtis came up again. He growled at me. I shifted so fast that the naked eye couldn't see. Maia had grown large in the last four years and she was bigger than Curtis's wolf. -Mate.- Curtis said stubbornly. -As if! You lost that chance. Sorry.- Maia snarled at him.

-Please, mate. Forgive us.- he begged. Maia snorted, which sounds pretty odd in wolf form. -Hmm, or nah!- Maia growled at them. They started circling. -I, Beta of the River pack, banish you, Alpha Curtis Grant of Star Moon, from these lands until I revoke this.- Maia said. Curtis gasped and by some invisible force, he was dragged out of our lands to just outside the boundary. Maia repeated the order and the other wolves followed suit.

I shifted back into human form, my clothes surprisingly still on. I looked over at the two lovebirds, gazing into each others eyes. "Alright, you two. Go find a room if you need to. Star Moon is no longer allowed on this land." I said, jerking my thumb towards the retreating wolves. Jordan nodded and coughed awkwardly. The two went inside. I followed. All was right in the world.
