Part 4 - Kokichi's P.O.V.

Nee-heehee~" I laughed. "Well, I guess we should just stop. I don't think either of us are going to win anytime soon." Shuichi looked so surprised by the end result of the game. It's actually not surprising at all. I have played many games like this during the D.I.C.E. meetings. After a while, I learned how to predict my opponent's next moment, so constantly ending the game with ties was normal for me. I love leaving my opponent really confused.

I could have easily won if I wanted to. Although, I want the games to last a while longer. My plan wasn't to murder him, but to kill Saihara with worry. The more he worries, the more he will try to convince me to stop all of the games, which means he will have to spend more time with me. Plus the games gave me an excuse to hang out with him. Everything's going according to plan.

Shuichi sighed. "At least I don't have to die today." Wow, I honestly thought he would have caught my lie already.

"Maybe not, but don't forget we have to play again tomorrow and you might not get so lucky." I smiled and put my arms on the back of my head. Although it hurt to lose on purpose, it was fun to watch Shuichi so determined. I looked at the clock on my wall. It was nearly noon, which meant everyone was probably doing their own thing.

"Umm... Kokichi?" He asked me. He always acts like he doesn't know what to say. It's really annoying, but also kind of cute.

"Yeees?" I asked. Maybe this is a love confession. I hope so.

"What's the whiteboard for?" Oh. Well, that's disappointing.

I covered up the disappointment with a small smile. "Oh that. It's nothing. It just states my opinion of each of our classmates."

"Then why isn't my name up there?" His words made me freeze for a second. I couldn't tell him the truth, but I couldn't think of an excuse either. I was too distracted by him actually paying attention to something like that. Luckily before I was able to answer, or before he noticed my sudden change in expression, there was a knock on the door. I quickly stood up and made my way to the door.

When I opened the door, I saw Kirumi on the other side of the door.

"Hello Kokichi. I finished sewing the hat for you." She said softly as she handed me a black hat with two white stripes on one of the sides. It was a mini version of Saihara's hat. It was for my teddy bear, Shuichi Jr. I asked Kirumi to make it for me when she came to give me some breakfast.

"If you wouldn't mind me asking," I remember her saying, "why would you want a replica of Shuichi's hat when I can make your own hat?"

"Well, Shuichi's hat is sooo cool. I want one just like his, but for my teddy bear." I responded. "Plus, it's the closest thing I'll get to his real hat." I couldn't lie to her, she's my mom. Plus, I know she can keep a secret. There are many things that only we know. One of them being my love for Shuichi.

I snapped back to reality. "Thanks mom!" I had a wide smile on my face and unlike many of my smiles, this one wasn't a lie. Kirumi and Shuichi are the only people who can make me actually smile. Not counting the D.I.C.E. Members. They are my family, so of course they make me happy.

She looked behind me and a small smile appeared on her face. "I see your plan worked Kokichi." She whispered. That's another thing she knows about; my plan to get Shuichi to like me.

My face turned pink. "Actually I'm only on step two out of ten." I told her, which is true. I am nowhere close to getting him to like me.

Kirumi sighed. "Well then, good luck. Ask if you need anything." She turned around and walked away.
I shut the door and happily turned around. Finally, I can have my very own Shuichi. Is that weird? Maybe, but I could care less. However, when I walked towards my bed to give Shuichi Jr. his hat, Saihara sat there looking confused.

"What was that about and what's that in your hand?" Shuichi asked me while I held Shuichi Jr. 's hat.

I was too busy talking to Kirumi that I forgot about Shuichi. "It was nothing. I just asked Kirumi to make my teddy bear a hat." I walked past him and placed the hat on the bear's head. Now he's starting to look like Saihara. I turned around to see him staring at the teddy bear.

"But why does the hat look like mine?" He really is full of questions.

I felt my mask falling off near him, but for this situation I had to force it back on. "Weeeell if you have to know, I wanted my very own detective hat. I've heard they have magical mystery solving powers." I felt so stupid saying that, but it's all apart of my mask. My stupid, overly confident, lying mask.

"Is that why you took my hat last night? You know, if you really want it you could have it. I'm actually planning on not wearing it anymore." He smiled at me. It's all because of Kea-idiot. She clearly likes Shuichi and constantly tries to convince him that he'd look better without his hat, which he totally does, but that's besides the point. She always takes him away from me when we're making progress. Although I really want to tell her to stop, I honestly can't tell if Saihara likes guys or girls yet.

"Really!?" I say full of excitement. Not even my mask can cover my feelings for Shuichi.

"Ya, here." He took off his hat and leaned towards me. He placed the hat on my head. My face turned red. This was the best moment of my life. He sat back down where he was before.

I hid the blush with a smile. "How do I look?"

He smiled back at me, "You look great, Kokichi." I could probably kiss him right now, if I knew he wouldn't mind.

"Thank you!" I started thinking of a way to repay him. Oh, I know. I took off my checkerboard bandana and put it around his neck. "There, now I'm the detective and you're the evil supreme leader."

He laughed a bit. "Thanks Kokichi. You know you don't have to do this, right?"

"Ya, but I really want to." I put my hands behind my head. "Plus, I can always get another one from my organization's headquarters. Once we get out at least." I let out a small sigh.

Shuichi and I started talking about random things we were interested in. After a while we heard the monitor.

*DING DONG DING DONG*

Monokuma appeared on the monitor. "This is a school announcement. It is now 10 p.m.As such, it is officially night time. The doors to the Dining Hall and Gym will be closed and entry will be strictly prohibited. Alright, good night and sweet dreams everyone." His image disappeared from the screen. Have we really been talking all day?

Shuichi sighed. "I should probably head to bed." He stood up and walked to the door. "Good night Kokichi." After he said that, he left.

I stood up and walked over to the whiteboard. I flipped it to the other side where Saihara's name was poorly written at the top. This side of the board shows each step to get Shuichi to like me. I crossed off step two, Make Him Think of Me. The entire "kill him with worry through games" plan is all to make him constantly think about me. I look at the next step, Become Friends. I erase it. I think we are already friends, so I don't really need that one anymore. Afterwards, I erase a few more steps that I probably don't need, leaving five more steps. I look at the next one and sigh. It's going to be a long day tomorrow.
