The Dream Chaser

While my parents go to the hospital to see Sam, (I'm not allowed to go yet) I get ready for youth group. I call Anna, and tell her "I'm going."

She gets all excited as if it's a big deal, and I sort of shrug her enthusiasm off, though way deep down I'm actually kind of excited, too.

"Me and my mom will be by to pick you up in half an hour." She says, her voice high pitched that I pull the phone away from my ear. Gosh this girl can get loud! I never knew she had it in her!

I grab my Bible and house key so I can get in the house later, since mom and dad usually stay at the hospital late into the night. Then I decide to kill some time until Anna comes. What to do, what to do? I sit down at the dining toon table, and open my new Bible. The first page is captioned under 'Genisis'...Jeneesees? What kind of greekhead came up with that name? I read the first three chapters, savoring every word it said. It was kind of cool in a way, but it's hard to believe it's true....I mean, how could the earth possibly be created in six days, with some time to spare for rest? Weird.

The next thing I know, I hear Anna's mom I had yet to meet honking her car. I get in, clutching my new Bible to my chest like it an I are unseperable...but I'm not that obsessed. Don't judge me.

"Hey Chase." she said from the passengers seat in the front, and I climb in the back row. Leather. Hm, the car must be expensive.

"Hi." I said, running my hand down the cool black leather. "Nice car."

Anna's mom laughs as she pulls out of the driveway,"Thanks. So you must be this Chase that Anna was raving about."

"Mom!" Anna whines, swatting her mom on the shoulder. "Pay attention to the road!"

"Whatever, Princess Ann.". Says her mom, sarcastically. I'm surprised at how laid back her mom was. If I did that to my mom I'd be grounded for sure!

When we arrive at the church, I see a bunch of kids playing basketball and laughing. It's far different from what I've ever seen. Kids at school usually try to beat eachother up.

"Thanks mom!" Says Anna as we get out of the car.

"What do you think?" She says happily.

"I don't know...." I say in a low, nervous tone.

"Come on!" She says,"Let's go get seats before they're all taken. Late people have to stand."

Oh, great.
