"After that guy hit his head. Did you feel different?"
Robby didn't answer for a few moments then quietly said "Maybe."
"I'm pretty sure you're a werewolf."

/ /

"What?"

"To become a werewolf you have to kill someone. And when you... accidentally did, your eyes changed." She explained.
"So, anyone who kills anyone becomes a werewolf?"
"No, it's a gene that's passed down in families?"
"You're kidding?" Robby scoffed. "So, a family of werewolves would know all of the things you just told me?"
"About the Shadow World? Yes."
"And they would be able to see you?"
"Yes."
"Then why didn't I know any of this?"
"That's something you'd need to ask them." Tory said but then noticed the look on the boy's face. "What?" She questioned.
"I'm pretty sure why I don't know any of this."
"How?"
"My dad was never around."
"Same. Well, technically, I'm an orphan." She tried to lighten the mood.

Angry and annoyed, Robby tried to storm out ready to find his dad and confront him. But his newfound 'friend' suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Where are you going?"
"To find my dad. Think there's a couple of things he forgot to mention the few times he was around." He replied angrily.
"Hey, you feel that anger inside of you?"
"Yeah."
"Famous werewolf temper."
"I was angry before."
"It'll be worse now." She informed him.
"Guess there's gonna be a lot to learn." He muttered still in disbelief.
"Surely, you must know something. Maybe something that he said to you when you were a child and you didn't think much of it at the time?"
"I've tried, Tory, okay?" He insisted. "It's just this empty blackness." Robby sighed putting his head in his hands.
Tory inhaled sharply realising something "Your memory's been wiped."
"That's not possible." He quickly looked back up at her. "Is it?"
"Absolutely... if you know a warlock."
"A warlock?"
"Yeah, a warlock, Robby. Immortal beings, they're half-demon, half-human. Sometimes their fingers spark."
"There was this guy I bumped into at the club after I ran away from you. I saw something: it was him but with wings and a blue orb in between his fingers."
"That must have been a warlock. Wait, did you say wings?"
"Yeah."
"Like angel wings or bird wings?"
"Bird wings."
"Hawk."
"What?"
"Not a 'what', a 'who'."
"Eli Moskowitz is the High Warlock of Brooklyn." Robby still looked confused. "Every warlock has an identifying mark that shows which type of demon they come from, it's known as a warlock mark."
"And?"
"And, Eli Moskowitz's mark is the wings of a hawk. Hence, the nickname."
"And you think he was the one who took my memories?"
"Hawk's magic is so powerful, he can evade even the Silent Brothers. If I'm right (which I probably am), and he is the warlock that took your memories then he could be the key to everything." She smiled. "So, do you want to confront your dad or get your memories back first?"
"Memories. Then I'll know if he's lying."
"Okay, might take a bit of work to find Hawk though. Come on." Tory led him to the operations centre - the heart of the institute.
"Whoa." Robby said as he saw all of the high tech equipment. "You know, I thought the whole demon slaying thing would be a dark ages type of deal."

It didn't take long for people to notice Tory and her guest. Kyler slid up beside her saying "Bringing him out in the open now, you're just asking for trouble."
"Shut up. Go get Piper and Kreese." She ordered. Kyler walked off in a huff while Tory led Robby over to a table in front of some screens. "He doesn't like me much." Robby commented.
"Oh, Kyler doesn't like anybody." She replied not fazed by her friend's rude behaviour anymore.

He soon came back with the girl Robby saw earlier and an older man who took one look at Robby and asked: "Do I want to know?"
"No." Tory responded.
"Do I need to know?" He rephrased.
"No."
"Then what do I need to know?"
"Where Hawk is." She answered. The three Shadowhunters looked confused before Kreese accepted it and brought up the warlock's profile on the biggest screen.

Whilst Kyler and Piper sat down at the table, Tory quickly explained to Robby; "This is Kreese. He's one of our teachers."

Clearing his throat the elder Shadowhunter began. "Hawk. He's over 300 years old. And, as you can see, he's not exactly shied away from the pleasures of every century. His tastes are both exquisite... and quite excessive."
"He looks like the Downworld's David Guetta." Robby commented.
"Guetta's already a Downworlder. Vampire? Ever seen him in the daylight?" Piper said and Robby couldn't actually tell what was real anymore.
"Can you two focus?" Kyler snapped. "This is not a joke."
"Someone needs to get laid." Piper sang.
"Kyler's right." Kreese put an end to their bickering. "Now, Hawk is one of the most powerful warlocks I've ever known. He has a deep mistrust of Shadowhunters." He warned them. "Are you lot gonna tell me why you want to find Hawk now?"
"We need a spell from him." Tory answered.
"Well, you're going to need to make a large payment before a warlock does anything for you and apparently they're all in hiding from Sil- Ow!"
"Kreese, your rune." Tory stood up concerned as the circle rune on his neck burned bright red. "You okay?" She asked and he nodded minutely assuring her.

Confused at what had just happened Robby tried to change the subject. "So how do we find Hawk?"
"We don't. Hawk finds us." Tory told him sitting back down in her chair next to him. "We'll set up a meeting, somewhere protected. Lure him out of hiding."
"And I know exactly where we do it." Piper revealed gleefully. Stealing the iPad out of Kreese's hand she threw something else up on the screen. "A Downworld rave." Tory read. "Nice, Piper."
"And where'd you get that?" Kyler asked.
"During my surveillance of the Downworlders. From what I hear, Hawk likes to party."
"He'll never go for it. Not with Silver trying to kill him."
"Of course he will. He'll blend in. Hide in plain sight." Tory corrected Kyler.
"I don't know, it seems- -." Piper cut Robby off. "Trust me. If Hawk is coming out of hiding, he's going to one of the biggest parties of the year."
"Never underestimate Hawk's hedonism. Or his greed." Kreese told them. "Come with me." He led them to one of the training rooms where he unlocked a compartment in the floor to reveal a necklace.

"Is that real?" Piper asked as she stared at the huge red stone on the middle of it.
"A four-karat unheated Burmese Ruby. And this necklace has a special meaning to Hawk as it was a gift from him to his then lover, Moon." He explained. "Hawk bought it in 1857 for the price of his London townhouse. Now, the jewel is enchanted by a spell that alerts the wearer to the presence of demons."
Holding it Piper said "It's so beautiful."
"Hawk has longed to reunite with this necklace." Kreese continued. "Offer it to him. He might just take the bait."
Tory nodded "I'll send Hawk a fire message to arrange the meeting. We have to get to Hawk before Silver does." Tory reminded them as she left post haste.

Robby quickly followed her, having more questions. "Who's Sil-" Tory spun around and covered his mouth before Robby could finish. "Not here." She whispered and pulled him all the way back to her room.

Once they were alone Tory explained:

"He was a Shadowhunter. An evil one. Everyone thought he was dead for the last 18 years but he and some of his followers showed up about a month ago. It's got the whole shadow world in a mess."
"What makes him evil?"
"He hates downworlders and wants to kill them all."
"Oh. Thanks for heads up."
"Hey, I know this is new to you but you haven't seen this by any chance?" Shows him a drawing of a mortal cup.
"No. I would suggest start looking in churches." He said looking at the fancy chalice.
"Hilarious." She commented before sitting down at her desk and writing on the stationary. Then, Tory took out her stele and drew the fire rune on it and the note disappeared in flames.

Meanwhile, Robby watched on in amazement. "So it just appears?"
"Yeah." Tory said then wrote another one before grinning at him. Almost as soon as the flames had left Tory they appeared beside him and Robby reached out to catch the falling piece of paper which read 'Hi'.
"Hi." He replied making them both chuckle.

The two supernatural teens were left waiting in an awkward tension filled air for about 10 minutes before Magnus answered. "That was quick for a guy in hiding."
"Magnus must really want that ruby back."
"Okay. We need to get ready. I'll steal some clothes from one of the guys for you and get you set up in a spare room."
"What's wrong with the clothes I have on?"
"You heard Kreese, Hawk loves extravagance. No downworlder will be caught dead dressed like that." Tory giggled.

Later on, Tory and Piper were getting ready together:

"Here! Try this one." Piper handed Tory a leather dress. "Ooh! And these!" She exclaimed passing Tory a matching pair of stiletto ankle boots and shoving her behind the screen.

A few minutes later, Tory emerged and checked her look in the mirror while Piper admired and complimented her.

Robby walked up and chapped on the open door. "You look badass." Tory spun around cursing herself for not noticing him with her senses or even spotting him in the mirror. "Oh, thanks." She chuckled.
"She cleans up well." Piper commented coming to wrap an arm around Tory with her feather boa. "I'm gonna go see Kyler. He never knows what to wear to these parties either." She finished with a smirk not taking her eyes off of them as she left the room. Thus, leaving Tory and Robby in another sexual tension standoff. They soon snapped out of it clearing their throats. "Well, you definitely look the part of a supernatural fight club."
"Yeah, well, um... this is the fun part." Tory turned around to collect her bearings and also grab something "In case the other fun part happens tonight... I have something for you." She said passing Robby a dagger. "I know you don't know how to use this new power yet, but trust your instincts and use your strength."
"Right. I'm a killer now."
"Hey, don't say that."
"It's true."
"Okay, did you accidentally kill one drunken mundane, yes. But just because you're a werewolf now doesn't mean you're some mindless beast. You're still you."
"Yeah, about that... do I actually... will I... you know..."
"Turn?" Tory finished.
"Yeah." Robby sighed.
"Yes, on full moons. It's uh... it's a long explanation. Just focus on one thing at a time."

"Kyler and Piper are securing the perimeter." Tory informed Robby as they joined the queue. A few minutes later the other two shadowhunters joined them. "All clear." Kyler reported. Piper hooked arms with Tory and showed her the necklace adorning her neck. "Do you think red's my colour?"
"Pipes, with a body like yours, everything's your colour."
"Good point. Damn, I make this necklace look so good."
"Will you take it off." Barked Kyler. "I'm certain Hawk doesn't want drool on his ruby when we make the exchange."
"You know, I wouldn't be so sure. Most men like it when I admire their jewels." Tory and Robby had to stop themselves from laughing.
"Can you just give it to Tory?"
Piper sighed taking it off "You're such a buzzkill."

Once they were inside, they split up to avoid being suspicious. "Blend in. But keep your weapons ready." Tory ordered.

Spying Hawk across the room, she grabbed Robby and made a beeline for the warlock. "Hawk."
"Robert Keene. You're all grown up."
"Eli Moskowitz. So you're the one who stole my memories."
"At your father's request. He knew the risk." Turning to Tory he demanded "Show me the jewellery, Shadowhunter." Tory dropped the necklace from her hand dangling it on a finger but when Hawk went to grab it she moved it back out of his reach "Ooh... Give Robby back his memories, and you get the jewellery."
"I have to confirm its authenticity." The warlock protested holding his hand out. Tory pulled a face but handed it over. "Amor verus numquam moritur. True love cannot die." He read sighing. "Oh, how I've missed this jewel."
"Now, it's your turn to pay up." Robby demanded.
"I wish I could retrieve your memories, but I no longer have them."
"What? Where are they?" He asked shocked.
"I fed them to a memory demon for safekeeping." Hawk admitted sheepishly.
"Why the hell would you do that?" Tory questioned.
"To protect Robby from the shadow world and his true nature. Johnny asked me to and I owed him a favour."

"Look out!" They heard Piper shout and then suddenly an arrow was whizzing by their heads into the chest of a man creeping up on them with a seraph blade. After firing,
Kyler went to check it out "He has a Circle rune on the base of his neck."
"They found us. It's not safe here. We have to go."
"Way ahead of you." Hawk said before jumping through a portal.
"No, thanks, we're good for a ride." Piper said sarcastically as she joined them. "The perimeter's secure. Looks like he was the only assassin."
"Robby, you good?" Tory asked him as he walked in a daze behind them.
"Yeah, just my dad screwing up my life again. Didn't think that was possible. I guess, I know where we're going now."
