seirin wiped away her perspiration as her pants of exhaustion seemed to be dragging her down more and more.

" SEIRIN !! CMON , LET'S GO !! " chaerin shouted back at her as she dashed forward.

seirin wondered why she had even began on this wild wood race to the riverbend.

it was all because chaerin couldnt take her curiosity any longer and wanted to talk to jun. then again , who was that boy ? why was she even coming along ? she wouldnt even be able to see her match for they werent allowed to see other beasts. so why ?

because i dont want to be left alone.

seirin sighed as she chased after her friend , braving through the winds lashing back at her face with a vengeful anger. the winds somehow seemed to oppose her. what did she ever do to them ?

i was always silent.

alas , they finally reached the riverbank as chaerin began sitting in the most ladylike manner she could. seirin on the other hand , just flumped down onto the ground like a sack of potatoes and laid there , almost half-dead.

" chaerin... remind me again… to smack you… when we get back , " seirin huffed between breaths.

" im sorry , " chaerin said , stickig her tongue out funnily , chuckling at her friend who seemed too dead to even feel alive.

maybe thats how she felt inside.

" are you chaerin ? " a barely audible voice spoke out across the river.

chaerin's head shot up as seirin's top half body had slowly moved back up , wincing a little in the sudden rush of air blown towards her face , as if even the air wanted her to lay there , dead.

" are you jun ? " chaerin spoke up.

the beast nodded his head and him and chaerin went into a full-fledged conversation , as if they were old buddies chatting away.

seirin on the other hand , had lurked away from the blooming couple. she didnt need anyone else burning into her skin about how she was too quiet to get anyone.

everybody said that. and it got tiring.

" well , maybe if you talked abit more , people would appreciate your presence more , " a sudden voice had pierced through her thoughts.

" i know that , but its not like theyll listen , " seirin said , mournfully.

" have you ever tried ? " that voice came again.

" maybe. i dont think theyll accept me that way , " seirin retorted once again.

" well then maybe you should try speaking up to them. then you wouldnt complain about yourself always being ignored , " that voice returned the favour.

" maybe youre right. thanks brain. " she said , as she giggled to herself , thinking she just had a chat with herself.

" im not your brain , " the firm voice had stabbed through the sudden silence and tension seirin created as she began to question who she talked to.

a hand tapped her back as swivelled her head in anxiousness , only to stare back at a gleefully smiling boy.

" how did you even get past the river to the side of the dandelions ?! " seirin shrieked as she jumped back from the boy , questioning the sorcery he used.

" im not using sorcery. theres just a connected tree branch down the river. its pretty easy to get past , at least , for me , " the boy spoke as he stared down at seirin's thin arms that could probably barely lift weights.

" stop reading what im thinking ! ugh , and stop judging me you idiot. brains over brawn , " seirin snapped back.

" it's that tone. use that tone to snap back at your friends. that is if , you want presence , " the boy said to her again , as seireins hand shot up to her gaping mouth.

had she really just said those words freely ? were those times of training to keep her mouth shut just all for nothing ?

would people really accept her this way ?

" seeing as to how shocked you are , im guessing youve never really seen yourself in this light of always spitting out words. im kang daniel , the boy whos pleased to have been the first person you criticise , " the boy spoke back towards her , a grin painting his face.

for once , time seemed to slow down around them as the cherry blossoms around the river had fallen into the river , like a mother weepijg for her child again.

it seemed like rebirth.

" im kim seirin… " her voice seemed to trail off as daniel helped her stand up from her slumped position.

" pleased to meet your acquaintance , partner , " he winked before he went off again to climb the tree.

moments seemed like hours as seirin stayed at the same spot. partner ? was it some kind of accent ? or some way of speech ?

and then she remembered her mark once again. was that it ? he was her soulmate ?

" SEREIN-AH !! ITS TIME TO GO ! WHERE ARE YOU ? " seirin heard chaerin's screech for her and raced back to where she started.

as they both bade farewell to jun , well mostly only chaerin , seirin began her mind numbing thoughts of the boy she met today. kang daniel huh.
