The Cunning Fox

The Cunning Fox

One day Fox was strolling around the woods hunting for any sort of prey since he has not eaten for a whole month. While scoping out the area, Fox happened to had spotted a cute little red barn out in the distance and the gears in his mind started turning. Oh, how he can taste the future feast he would have. He must have a peek at the buffet offered, Fox thought.

Fox took a stroll down to the barn, but not without making sure that there were no farmers around at the moment. He strolled over to the house that is right next to the barn and took a slight listen at the door...

And the only thing the Fox could hear was the sound of crickets chirping... Perfect.

With no farmers around he had a free range of food to last until winter. He wondered what he wanted to start with first. And then he spotted the perfect appetizer to start with. A little white lamb. Now the Fox knew that he couldn't just eat the lamb right away because he would have to deal with the other animals who could witness his fiendish crime. He had to think of a way to get the little sheep far enough for him to eat the lamb in peace.

That was when an idea popped into his head.

Fox with a sinful smile on his face glides over to the little lamb who was in a secluded corner of his pen.

"Why hello there little lamb. I might have some news that might be beneficial for you to hear."

"Oh, what is it?"

"Well, I overheard the farmers saying how they want to take you out."

"Oh, that's not too bad."

"Oh is it now? Well, might I add that they want to take you out because they want to slaughter you."

"What? Oh no, I don't want to die please help me!"
"Why of course! For your own safety, I recommend you follow me."

With that, the little lamb followed what the Fox said and followed him all the way to the woods. And then Fox took his chance and cornered the little lamb.

"Now as compensation, I was thinking you could do me a favor."

"Sure! What is it?"

The Fox smiles maniacally.

"Let me eat you for dinner as a way of saying thank you for falling for my lie."

The little lamb, who was completely dumbfounded, faintly says while quivering in fear:

"But you said this was for my own safety."

Fox laughs before he utters his final statement to the little lamb before devouring him whole.

"I guess you shouldn't have believed the fake news then."
