Chapter Seven

The Grave by the Cliff

I used my wolf form and ran towards the forest. I kept running and running. Without any direction, I roamed the forest. I couldn't care less when there were eyes looking at me. Whether they were animals or rogues or whatever, I don't care.

I just want to get away.

With every step my paws take me, I felt my heart shatter even more. Klint was hurting with me. Both the pain of having our mate think of somebody else and the pain of leaving them.

Everything hurts.

Go to Olivia.

As Klint suggested, I went to the giant tree where I was raised by the kindest person I know. But there wasn't anything there. Just tall trees crowning over the ground.

"There should be a small meadow here," I said out loud.

Where is it?! Klint growled.

He was even more desperate to go away. I know that he's hurting twice as I am now.

One's wolf will always need their mate's presence after all. And the pain regarding their mate would hurt them a thousand times worse.

Calm down, maybe I took a wrong turn or something.

I turned around and paled when I saw a scratch on a tree. It was the scratch I made a few days ago.

The scratch I made when I left Olivia's barrier for the first time.

I did it so I wouldn't get lost. Yet, if the scratch is there, then the meadow should be on its right.

And nothing. No meadow was found. I started to panic. What the hell is happening?

Call Olivia.

I would, but I don't know how.

I tried pressing everything on the necklace. Pressing the parts, tracing the engraved curves, gripping the necklace itself to no avail. Nothing happened.

Try saying something.

"Olivia, I need you," I said. "Olivia, it's Klyde. I need you." None. "Olivia, this is Kl-"

Before I could finish, I heard a rustle in the woods.

When I turned to look up who it is, two pairs of muscular arms wrapped around me. The pain of the distance was washed away in an instant.

Their mere presence lifted the ache me and my wolf felt just a few seconds ago. Even though I wanted not to submit, I couldn't help but nuzzle into their chests, inhaling their scent as if it was my oxygen.

"Don't fucking run away like that," Aaron growled. His voice was full of authority that I could only look down. I couldn't resist the crazy sensations of their touch. I gripped their arms out of desperation.

I don't want to leave their side anymore.

"Celestine, I miss you."

I snapped out of the trance of their touch and pushed myself away slightly. The pain I felt before was coming back. The pain of not owning them fully was hurting me even more now.

"Celestine," I said coldly, "Celestine. Who is she?"

"Come with us." Was the only thing Stephen said.

I pulled away from their embrace, rage and hurt present in my face. "I know I don't have the rights to demand an answer, but I want it. Klint can't handle being hurt – I couldn't bear the pain. I want my mates to love me and only me. I know it sounds possessive and clingy, but I don't care–"

A finger cut me off. It was from Stephen. He was looking at me intently. His eyes didn't have any hint of humor. He was serious.

"I'll give you an answer, just come with," he said. He shifted to his wolf form, as well as Aaron. I was about to do so too when Stephen offered me to ride him.

I gave him a weak smile before shifting to my wolf form myself.

They growled but I gave them a sassy pout. Olivia didn't raise no weakling. Even though it hurts me to keep being upset, I should let them know that I am serious about what I said earlier. I want them to love me and only me.

When they started to jog away, I trailed after them.

Not long after, they were sprinting. They were fast, not a surprise since they were alphas, but I was also fast myself. The ten hectare meadow that surrounded the large tree I live in was my sprinting ground.

Olivia trained me to be fast and agile. So that when someone tries to chase me, I could run away and escape them.

After about two hours of running, we reached a cliff. There was a tombstone in the middle of the pointy cliff.

All of us shifted back to our human forms.

"Celestine was my older sister." Stephen picked a few white roses from the side of the cliff and placed it in front of the grave. His eyes turned to gold for a moment, like he was talking to somebody on his link. "I got Kaitlyn's permission to tell you about her."

He sat on the grass as tears started to fall from his eyes, Aaron sat with him and gave him a comforting rub on his bare back. (A/N: Heee hee heeee. Bareback. Heee heee. 🤭)

I was about to sit on the grass when I realized that I was on Stephen's lap. He was quick to grab my hips and let me sit on his naked thighs.

He gave me a weak smile and cleared his throat. "Kaitlyn and Celestine are my older sisters. They were twins and was regarded as The Twin Titanias." Of course, the legendary she-wolves, Stephen's pack rose to the rankings because of them. "B-But about eleven years ago, Celestine died. After that, Kaitlyn renounced being the next alpha. My pack's rank dwindled after that," he ended with a sob on my chest. In my, well, a few days here, it's my first time to see Stephen so vulnerable. He's usually outgoing and funny.

Stephen had tears that were threatening to fall but he held it in, "It was only a few years ago when I started assisting that our rank rose up. And now with the alliance and Unification, I'm positive that we'll rule the world."

"M-May I ask how she died?" I asked Stephen. I faced him and joined Aaron in caressing our mate's back. He needs our support right now.

"It was midnight when I wandered around the forest. I was following a white sprite when a pack of rogues attacked me. Celestine came just a few moments later, but even a wolf as strong as her was powerless when facing eighteen rogues. B-But she did it, she killed every last one of them. She told me that it was not my fault and that she'll only take rest. She never woke up. She annihilated a small pack of rogues at a cost of her life."

I didn't know why or what, but I grabbed both my mates' chins and kissed them both.

A thought dawned me after Stephen's story. I wanted us three to work out together. I guess I was too focused on myself that I forgot that what we have now involves more than two people.

And the three of us should love each other equally.
