the meadows and your soul

"How can you say you know me?'
You queried as you locked your gaze with mine
But I know there's a world you hide within―
A galaxy, perhaps
I saw them peeking out of your fragile skin

I may not be able to hear your ribs creak
Nor the way of the sound your vines crumble as you perspire
But I listen to the sweetest songs your heart hums
As it is ignited with passion and fire

I may not have been here long enough
But I'm always ready to stay
I would love to reside within your tumble-down castle
Redecorate and paint it with the hues of May

I haven't climbed the branches
Draped around each of your lungs
For I don't want to hurt you―
I'm afraid they'll break

I haven't marked you with my footsteps
Nor am I planning to leave soon
Rather my lips left trail of butterfly-moth kisses over your meadows
When your flowers are about to bloom

The birdsong were so pretty
And painfully, I know it's not for me
But I'm willing to turn your winter warmer
Turn your fall into spring

"How can you say you know me?"
You asked me once again
But I know I knew you
Since the beginning of time

A sense of familiarity
Your scent feels like home
I want my hands to unravel you
And to read all the scriptures embedded within your fragile bones

I may not discern you
Your lungs and your bones
But there's one thing I'm familiar with
This, your heart and its rhythms, I fully know
