Part 6

Suddenly, the world is now shrouded in darkness. The sun has aligned with the moon, and the Players are back. This time, they brought out a massive cannon. Umbra got a little nervous at such sight. Still, her resolve to beat the Players herself is burning inside of her.

Soon, she started going up to the top of the colosseum to get a better view, and she is absolutely baffled, and she can't help laughing. The humans are way smaller than her, and they only got basic guns and mortars. She is sure that this will be a close fight.

To ensure the battle to end quickly, she immediately sent out a massive horde of units to go destroy the cannon. To her surprise though, they failed, and kept dying. No matter how many units she sent, they fail to reach the cannon. Then, it's the knight's turn. They are faster than the Pikes, so she thinks they will have no problem. Still, they kept dying. Eventually, she sent an unit invulnerable to bullets. The Clankers. When they are first on the battlefield, the players looked nervous. Yet, they still die. She is getting pretty mad about it, but she kept her cool.

Soon, it became clear to her that she hasn't used one of her strongest asset, the Headless Jaxe. She summoned him to the battlefield, along with escorting units to keep him away from the danger. At first, Jaxe is doing great. He seems to enjoy bringing pain to the Players once more.

But then, he started struggling to reach the cannon. He kept stunning the towers, but to no avail. They just kept going up, and start shooting again. To the surprise of the Mistress, the Jaxe has fallen, once more.

Now she truly realizes that there will be no quick end to the battle. They are willing to destroy her, even if it took them countless tries and errors. Then, she sent her corrupted units. They are tanky, but most importantly, fast. Still, they fell without making it close to the cannon. It seems that she must deal with it herself.

Soon, she sent the Lunar and Solar Servants to test their defenses. They died within seconds, due to their slow speed and lack of HP. But the Umbra is confident that she will be able to get past the defenses. Sure, she will get major wounds, but it won't kill her. Besides, she can shoot the cannon, since it seems to be not working.

When the Umbra finally came onto the battlefield, she realized how wrong she was. You see, the cannon is specifically waiting for her, as it's obviously tracking her. It could shoot her at any moment, and she doesn't know what would happen if it does.

With all of her escorting units dead, she is completely up to herself. She took aim at the base, hoping to cause panic among the players. But when she took aim, it fired at her. Instantly, she felt her whole body paralyzed, and she dropped down. After a few seconds of agony, she can finally get up and start going through the path. This time, she takes aim at the base again. The cannon stayed silent, as the arrow flew to it. Soon, the arrow hits it, and an explosion rocks the cannon. Now, she realizes that the cannon needs a good sum of time to recharge. Enough time to cause a total destruction of the cannon.

She kept going onward, looking for a clear shot on the cannon. But then, she realized that her Health Points are dropping fast, and she is at 400 thousand. She fires her bow at the cannon again, and another explosion rocks the cannon. Soon, she started to feel weird. Her body started glitching in and out. Then, a dark red aura envelops her, causing her to go faster in a fit of panic. Then, she sees her Health Point about to be fully drained.

50,000.

40,000.

30,000.

20,000.

10,000.

5,000.

...

But she did not die.

The cannon, the towers, and the Players started focusing on the Gates. It's Penumbra. He started wildly firing on the towers, downing a huge portion of the defenses. Then, the cannon fires at Penumbra. Instantly, he is paralyzed, and he tumbled down from the air. Then, the towers started attacking Penumbra.

Now is Umbra's chance to strike the final shot. She took aim at the base, and laughed maniacally, knowing that this will all be over. She lets loose of the arrow, and it flew onto the base. Soon enough, it fully desintegrated, and the Players dissapeared.

After the final shot, she can feel her energy completely exhausted. She dropped to the ground. Penumbra immediately rushes to his partner.

Penumbra : "UMBRA!"
                       "OH NO NO NO, STAY
                         WITH ME!"
Penumbra : "SERVANTS, COME HELP
                        ME, DAMN IT!"
Umbra : "It's... fine... we already did it..."
Penumbra : "UMBRA, PLEASE..."
Penumbra started tearing up, while Umbrs tried to comfort him.

Umbra : "It's alright, dear... i've been
                 through worse..."
Penumbra : "Please... promise you
                        won't risk your soul like
                        that again!"
Umbra : "I... promise."

Then, Umbra passed out. Penumbra can only feel regret and sadness, as had he rebelled against her terms earlier, she would not be tormented like this. Eventually, he'll collect himself together, and carries Umbra back to the colosseum, just like how she did a few days ago.
