Technically it is still Sunday so here is an update. I said I'll update on Sundays, not how many on a Sunday 😜😉

Note: All characters are human. Veer is slightly immature as a person and Bani is very shy.

This is a college based story. Veeranshu and Bani are childhood sweethearts. They grew up as neighbors and were friends since playschool or probably from the womb as Vani's mothers were friends and spent most of the pregnant time hanging out with each other. They grew up together and fell in love in school days. Puberty hit them like a truck, Veer grew up into a really hot and popular boy while Bani was the opposite, she was shy and timid. That did not lessen his love for her though. She would open up to him but only when they were alone.

They enrolled in the same college and a lot of girls drooled over Veer and were shocked to see Bani was his girlfriend. Many bullied her out of envy while his guy friends would tease him for having such a weird girlfriend. While Veer was popular and had loads of friends, Bani only managed to make one friend other than Veer; her name was Meera and she was also gentle like her.

Now, they were in their second year. Bani was still the same but all the negativity that Veer kept hearing got to him. He started complaining to Bani to be bolder and not be so shy all the time. His friends complained whenever he hung out with her and Veer would hang out with Bani only post college. He would drop by her class during college time too but not spend a lot of time.

'Ye Rohan kahan gaya hai?' asked Veer, searching for his friend. He was sitting with a large group of friends. His shades in his pocket. Many girls were sitting to his side, gapping at him but he paid no one attention.

'Apni girlfriend ko class drop krne gaya hai, uski extra class hai aaj.' Said Aarav.

V: Kya chamcha hai! Vo khud bhi jaa skti hai..

A: Arey sbki Gf teri wali ki taraf nahi hoti na..

V: Mtlb

Chandni, a girl who had crush on Veer jumped in.

C: Mtlb Veerashu, Rohan has a hot gf, a lot of guys will hit on her while tumhari wali ko toh ankh utha kr bhi na dekhe...so you have no tension. Isliye Rohan decides to accompany her everywhere while you don't have to....honestly Veer what do you see in her..

Veer turned away to see Bani was talking to Meera. A peon tripped. She noticed this and rushed to help him the files he dropped.

V: She has the purest heart (he mutters)

C: Kya kaha?

V: Kuch bhi toh nahi...

Veer snaked an arm around Bani's waist. Bani saw this and smiled. She leaned into him. They were in a deserted hallway.

B: Hey Veeru, how was your day?

V: Same old Love..

Bani smiled and they sat on the empty stairs. They spoke for a while when Veer got a call.

V: Hello...haan Rohan?...

R: Hi Veer! Kahan hai..

The volume was very high and Bani could hear their talks.

V: College me hi hoon...tu bol? Gf se fursat milli..

R: Tu bhi chida le bhai...Kiske saath hai tu? Sb toh yahin hai..

V: Um...(Veer doesn't want to take Bani's name as his friends would make a lot of fun) No one...kahan ana hai?

Bani heard this and didn't say anything. The truth is, it hurt her to see Veer ignore he so much during college. At home or in private, he was a complete different person. He would treat her with love. She had been his best friend, his first friend in fact, his lover, his first kiss and he had been hers. They gave each other their souls long ago and made love last year on his birthday for the first time, another first! But she felt this college was distancing them. She was losing her best friend and lover. Most of the time she wouldn't know what was going in his life and he wouldn't know what is going on in hers.

She knew she was shy but if only Veer had introduced her to his friends and let her open up herself in her own time. She wasn't bold like the girls in his friend circle but she was his girlfriend. She sat there for a long time after Veer left and thought about their first fight ever and it was a public fight too.

Flashback

Bani's section was asked to merge with Veer's section of a special class. Bani entered his class room expecting to sit next to him as it was their first class together since they joined. However, when Veer's friends said something to each other and laughed, Veer got pink. He moved to her and caught her arm.

V: Tum yahan kyu ayi ho?

B: veer vo-?

V: Bani! I love you, you know this but I can't be seen with you publically yaar!

B: What?!

V: Yes...tum meri class me kyu aayi...ab sb mujhpr hasenge...Bani yrrr you aren't like my friends so they don't like you around and it's bad enough they tease me about you but when you are around, the teasing gets worse babe..

Bani looked down sad.

B: You are ashamed of me Veer.

It wasn't a question. She made a statement.

V: I know it hurts Bani but can we please keep our lives in college separate? Let's not hang out here..

A tear escaped her eyes.

V: Ab please sad mt ho jao Bani..I hate seeing you sad..

Bani just nodded and left with her bag. A while later, a lot of other students entered and Veer realized Bani had entered for a class. She wasn't there to meet him against his wishes. He felt very guilty. Bani didn't return for the class and Veer felt more and more guilty.

That night, he cancelled his club plans and made dinner for her. They had home-made pizza and watched movies, just like old times but after that day it became and unsaid rule that Bani kept to her own at college. It was Veer who would pull her out to talk to her if he wanted to, put she kept out of his way at college.

Flashback ends

M: Bani?!

Bani looked up to see Meera, she was breathing heavily.

M: Tujhe kahan kahan nahi dhoonda maine?

B: Sorry yr vo-

M: Veer se mil rahi thi?

B: Haan..

M: Yr mujhe smjh nahi aata ...Vo tera BF hai pr tujhe aise kaise treat krta hai...My bf is in a different college but vo mujhe isse zyada bhaav deta hai..

B: He is really sweet when we are in private...

M: So, he is ashamed of you..why? because you wear glasses and don't look cool like his gang girls? Come on Bani! Give me a break! He shouldn't be so critical of you and love you the way you are...

B: Ye baat toh mujhe bhi upset krti hai Meera...pr mai kya kr skti hoon?

M: Hmm...I have a plan!

B: What?

M: Tum college me alag alag rehte ho na...and I bet vo bahar bhi mostly unke saath hi rehta hai..tumhe shyd utna time nahi deta..

Bani looked down upset.

M: It is because his friends circle is vain and also because he is very assured ki tum kahin nahi jaogi...We have to make him realise that there are genuine guys who might be interested in you...he needs to fear losing you to value you..

Bani nodded.

The coming weeks, Meera realized the main issue with Bani was her confidence. She was shy around most people. She tried to open her up. She even made her enter in college discussion group. Initially she would be shy and not speak a word but as time went by, she gained confidence and would pitch in her points. The people were very encouraging. She also made tons of new friends.

~~~~~~~~One day~~~~~~~~

D: Hey Bani!

Bani turned to see it was Dheeraj, her senior and a member of the discussion group.

B: Hi!

D: Great points today ...Nobody could argue with you..

B: Thank you..

D: I wanted to ask for your help...

B: Kya hua..

D: Actually I had to represent our college for a competition and as you know, topic ek din pehle hi aata hai..and ye topic mere liye ekdum new hai..kl hi debate hai so will you help me with my speech and points?

B: Sure! Why not?

D: Cool, canteen me milte hai after class.

Bani smiled and nodded.

........At the canteen..............

D: wow Bani! Tumhe to bohot kuch pata hai..

B: (Blushed as she has never been complimented so much) Vo actually mere dad lawyer hai and ye sb ke baare me unhone hi bataya mujhe..

D: Let's get some coffee..my treat!

Dheeraj got them two cups of coffee and they both got lost in deep discussion. Veer entered the cafe in his usual swag with his gang. They sat at their usual seat. Veer was the centre of attention as usual and loved it.

R: Oye Veer....vo teri gf hai na!?

Ch: kaise ho skti hai...Dheeraj is a very hot senior vo uske saath kyu hoga...koi aur hogi...

The girl's back was facing them and she was wearing a blush pink crop top with jeans. She leaned over to Dheeraj and her top lifted up slightly, putting her back and a tattoo on display. It was a small tattoo on her lower back.

A: Yr, kitna cute sa tattoo hai na..

V: (Thinks) Ye mujhe Bani jaisi kyu lg rahi hai..nahi nahi...vo aise kapde kahan pehenti hai...aur tattoo? Usse to needle se dr lgta hai na..

Meera entered the cafe.

M: Bani!?

The girl turned and Veer gulped. It was his Bani. Even his gang was shocked to see her interact with Dheeraj. He was very hot senior but also very serious and strict. To see her friendly with him was a shocker.

R: Oh beta...teri gf ka friend hai Dheeraj...mujhe laga ye khali us loser Meera ke saath ghoomti hai..

V: (Bani yahan iske saath? Aur ye sb?) Mai abhi aya..

He went towards them.

V: Sweetheart?

Bani looked up shocked. He never used this name publically. Bani blushed.

B: Hi Veer.

Veer felt his heart thump looking at her innocent face and red cheeks.

V: Yahan kaise?

B: Vo..?

D: Maine isse help mangi thi...

V: Hi Dheeraj...Apne? Ye toh junior hai..

D: Arey bohot smart junior hai...kl debate hai and topic abhi milla so I took her help with my speech .

Bani smiled. Veer felt something in his stomach that he couldn't put into words.

M: (To Bani) Ye yahan kya kr raha hai? Tum logon ka toh college me nahi baat krne ka unsaid rule tha na?

Meera purposely said it louder so that Veer hears it. Veer left.

Bani and Dheeraj sat there for a long time. They were nose deep in their work but Veer couldn't have fun with his group knowing Bani was sitting only few steps away and he wasn't the centre of her attention.

Later, when Bani was in her home, Veer came there.

B: Veer? Aaj tum yahan?

V: Nahi aa skta..

B: Nahi nahi..aao na..vo expected nahi tha..

Veer just nodded. He hugged her and Bani hugged him warmly.

V: I've missed your warm hugs.

Bani smiled.

V: Tumne tattoo kyu chipkaya..

B: Chipkaya?

V: Haan back pr..

B: Kya? Tumne kb dekha...aur ye chipkaya nahi hai...banaya hai..it is permanent.

V: (Shocked) Pr you are scared of needles na...

B: Haan pr vo dare thi..

V: Kisne di..

B: Dhruv ne...hum class me truth and dare khel rahe they free period me and he gave me the dare to get a tattoo done by his amateur sister after college. So I went to her shop and got one. It pained like hell..

She giggled. Veer asked her to turn.

V: May I?

He asked permission and Bani nodded. Veer lifted her top slightly and saw the tattoo. He ran his fingers on it.

V: (Thinks) Just how much have I missed on your life Bani? Tumse related baat aur mujhe pata nahi thi...

He felt sad and upset with himself.
