Good Morning Aviators

Clothes from the night before was scattered every where. Lindsey's eyes fluttered opened, she looked over to Bradley who was sound asleep, laying on his stomach. They have been in a relationship for quite some time now and they started living together about a year ago.

She smiled and started rubbing circles on his on his bare back. He stirred in his sleep, then he saw Lindsey rubbing the circles on his back. "Keep it up, I won't get out of this bed Kazansky." Bradley mumbled. She giggled at her boyfriend. "We can't be late, I don't feel like pissing off the admirals on the first day, even though I am daughter of two admirals but still" Lindsey said. As she stopped and laid back down, Bradley groaned then pulled her close to her which caused her to giggle.

"Don't you ever get sick of me Bradshaw?" Lindsey asked. He looked at her, "Never." Bradley said to her. She smiled as he press his lips to her.

"Attention on Deck!" A woman yells as all the pilots stood as Admirals made their way in.

"Morning... welcome to your special training detachment be seated." Admiral Bates said as everyone did so. 

"I'm Admiral Bates... you're all Top Gun Graduates... the elite... the best of the best.... that was yesterday. The enemy's new fifth generation fighter has leveled the playing field.... Details a few  but you can be sure we no longer possess the technological advantage success more then ever comes down to the man or woman in the box." Bates said. 

Hangman looked back at Phoenix. Phoenix sneaky gave him the finger. Domino shook her head.

"Half of you will make the cut, one of you will be name mission leader, the other half will remain in reserve." Bates said. Hangman looked back Rooster, Storm rose a brow. Vadar sneakily flicked him while Domino tap her leg. "Vadar." Domino quietly spatted.

"You instructor is a Top Gun graduate, with real world experience in every mission aspect you will be expected to master..." Vadar looked back and her eyes widen. She quickly turned around. "Warning would be nice, Uncle Ice." Vadar said. "Who is it?" Domino whispered. She looked back her eyes widened, then looked back Vadar. "Yep warning would've been nice." Domino said.

"... His exploits are legendary and he's consider to be one of the finest pilots this program has ever produced..." Storm shook her head. "So this is who Mom and Dad got to teach us... this isn't going to end up well." Storm mumbled. "...What he has to teach you may very well mean the difference between life and death. I give you Captain Pete Mitchell, Call sign Maverick." Bates finished before Maverick took his place. Storm looked over to see Rooster's jaw clenching. She grabbed his hand gave him assuring squeeze before looking forward as she continued hold onto it. He rubbed his thumb over hers.

"Good morning." He started off and everyone nodded. "The F-18 na contains everything they want you to know about your aircraft, I'm assuming you know the book inside and out." Maverick asked.

"Goodness Gracious, I hope so or we wouldn't be graduates now wouldn't we!" Vadar exclaimed excitedly but sarcastically. Domino looked wide eye at Vadar, while Storm along with many others bit their lips to prevent themselves from giggling at Vadar's outburst.

Admiral shook their heads. "Just like Slider." Hondo said.

"Damn right."

"Yeah." 

Maverick looked at Vadar, She grinned at him then looked away. Maverick tossed the book in the bin. Everyone had confused but shock looks on their faces. "You need to chill." Domino whispered to Vadar. "I am." Vadar whispered as she looked forward again.

"So does your enemy..." Maverick said. "And we're off." Hondo said.

"but what the enemy doesn't know is your limits. I intend to find those limits and push beyond them. So today, we will start with what you think you know." He dismissed the group to grab their gear and head to their respective planes.

"Good morning, aviators. This is your captain speaking. Welcome to basic fighting maneuvers. As you were briefed, today's exercise is dogfighting. No missiles. Guns only and no going below the hard deck of five thousand feet. Work as a team to shoot me down or else." Maverick said to everyone.

"Or else what, sir?" Fanboy asked into the comms. "Or I shoot back." Maverick respond. Listening from the radio on base. Storm knew he had a grin on his face and that he was going to enjoy this.

"How about we put skin in the game." Payback countered. "What do you have in mind?" Maverick asked him. "Whoever gets shot down first has to do two hundred pushups." He responded.

"Geez." Domino said with her eyes widen. "I signed up to kick ass not to becoming a side dessert." Vadar said. 

"That's a lot of pushups." Maverick commented. "They don't call it exercise for nothing, sir." Fanboy responded. "You've got yourself a deal. Let's turn and burn!" Maverick's jet soared between the jets of Payback and Rooster, catching them both off guard.

Storm listen just knew Rooster was not letting Maverick have it easy. "That's a kill." Maverick said as he got a lock on Rooster. "Damn it!" Rooster exclaimed.

"Should be us down there." Payback said. "But it's not and now you know a little something about Rooster." Phoenix said.

Vadar and Domino hang outside waiting for Storm so they could go to their aircrafts.  Then they saw Fritz, Harvard and Yale coming towards him. "Oh no, don't be a dick." Domino said. "They will be..." Vadar said. "Don't you dare." Domino said sternly but Vadar ignores her.

"Wow, hold that tarmac down until we get back brother, all right get in." They said to him. "Hey! Hey! I hope Maverick takes all three of you down, then you can shove that selfie up your..." Vadar said. "VADAR!!!" Domino exclaimed. "YOUR ASSES, GAHH!" Vadar exclaimed as she walked back. Rooster and Hondo chuckled at the woman.

"Damn Vadar, got a lot of energy." Payback said. "Well she's like that when it comes to people she loves and is close too, but I adore her crazy ass." Phoenix said.

Then the three of them was taking down. "It was all fun and games with that selfie wasn't it." Hondo said as Vadar approached them with a grin on her face. "Haha, you got your asses smoked. bet you regret taking that selfie now." Vadar said as she watched them. "Now Vadar you better go on before Domino and Storm get on to you." Hondo said. "Good luck Vadar." Hondo added. "Thanks." Vadar said then looked at the three of them and giggled.

"Alright Vadar and Domino, talk to me? Where is he at?" Storm asked as she kept an eye out. Domino smirked. "He's right under us." Domino called out. Storm and Vadar looked at each other and nodded. They took off.

"They knew my tricks." Maverick said. "We wasn't born yesterday there Maverick, have fun catching us or better yet have fun with those push ups... Whooo!!" Vadar exclaimed  "Your on Ladies!" Maverick said as he took off.

"Break left Storm!" Domino exclaimed. "Breaking Left!" Storm exclaimed.

Phoenix and Rooster looked at each other. "He has his work cut out with those three." Bob said. "They don't give up easily either." Phoenix said. Harvard, Yale and Fritz walked in after doing there push ups. "Did you all enjoy getting grilled by Vadar?" Payback asked. "Don't!" The three of them exclaimed and everyone chuckled.

"Where the fuck is he?" Vadar questioned. "BREAK RIGHT VADAR, HE'S RIGHT ON US!" Domino exclaimed. "Breaking Right!" Vadar said. "They are good." Maverick said. 

"Give up yet?" Storm questioned. "Where did you go?" Maverick said then he heard a lock. "That's a kill." Storm said with a smirk. "Well played." Maverick said. Everyone at base cheered. "Enjoy those push ups." Vadar said with a smirk on her face.

As they got back to base, Phoenix, Bob and Hangman were walking out. Phoenix smiled at them. "Way a go! That was badass there Storm as always." Phoenix said. Bob high five her. "Good luck out there, Bob don't tolerate Hangman's shit." Vadar said. "Yeah, just fire back at him." Storm said as she patted him and Phoenix on the shoulders.

"Hows about we tell everybody Bob stands for something other then Robert." Hangman said. Bob was about to say something but Phoenix jumped the gun. "Don't take the bait Bob, wanna know why we call him Hangman?" Phoenix questioned Bob. "No No I got it... Baby on Board." Hangman said as he looked at over then started giggling. Then Maverick came out of nowhere. "Oh shit!" Hangman shouted as they all got control of their plane.

"Greetings Aviators, fight's on." Maverick said. "Alright Phoenix, lets take this guy out." Hangman said on the radio as Rooster and Storm when over to the radio, "Watch your back Phoe." He said.

"Break right you." Hangman said. "Breaking right." Phoenix called out. Then they saw Hangman leaving them. "Where's he going?" Bob questioned Phoenix. "That's why we call him Hangman, he'll always leave you hang out to dry." Phoenix said.

"Shit.. phoenix I can't see him how close am I, Phoenix?" Hangman called out. 

"I'm dead, dickhead." Phoenix called out. "See you in the afterlife, Bagman." Bob called out. Vadar giggled. "Haha, Karma's a bitch Bagman." Vadar said as Storm and Domino couldn't but giggle at the woman.

Hangman, Storm and Rooster are last group for the day. Storm hummed. "You alright over there Storm?" Rooster asked her. "Yeah, just things on my mind,  We'll talk about later." Storm replied.

"So Rooster, you mind if I ask you a personal question?" Hangman said. "It better not be a stupid one." Storm muttered. "Would it matter if I did." Rooster responded. 

"So what's the story with you and Maverick, seems like he's got your rattle." Hangman said. Storm groaned. "That's none of your business, now where the hell is he?" Rooster questioned sternly.

"Been here the whole time." Maverick responds. Then Maverick comes out no where then his plane hovers over Rooster. "Holy shit." Hangman said. Storm gets to gut wrenching feeling. "You see me now?" Maverick questions him.

"Maverick... My mom might adore your ass but she isn't afraid to kick it." Storm spatted. "Come on let's get it over with." Maverick said to Rooster. "Roost... don't... you.... dare." Storm said sternly. "Fights on." Rooster calls out which Him and Maverick take off.

"Shit!" Storm exclaimed. "What's with these two." Hangman said and Storm ignores him as she quickly goes after them. "Mom and Dad, how the hell the two of you did this." Storm asked herself.

"Alright you put us here, how you gonna get yourself out." Maverick said to Rooster. "You can bail out anytime." Rooster responded to Maverick. Storm sighed. "Hangman, I know you don't listen half of time, but for fuck sakes keep up with me." Storm commanded as she kept an eye on the duo. "Yes, ma'am." Hangman said.

"How low you wanna go Rooster." Maverick said. "I can go as low as you sir and that's saying something." Rooster said. Storm was on edge.

"What's past is past, for both of us." Maverick said to Rooster. "You like to believe that, wouldn't you." Rooster said. "Hard deck is 5,000 feet fellas and you are running out of room." Hangman said. Domino and Vadar looked at each other. "Storm got her work cut out with these two." Fanboy said. "Yeah, She's dating one while the other went to Top Gun with her mom." Domino said. 

"Okay Rooster and Maverick." Storm called out. "Your strategy  is about to run us into the ground, what's your move?" Maverick called out. Storm at this point was hyperventilating, she was stress beyond max, silence filled the radio. "OKAY.... PULL UP, PULL UP!!!!" Storm screamed which caused the both of them to pull up. Everyone's eye widen at the sound of Storm's scream

She was in relief when they did, She took a breathe but they were still at it. "Alright you got it, Don't think just do." Maverick said. "Come on Rooster, you got him, drop down and take the shot." Hangman called out. "It's too low." Rooster responded. "Too late, had your chance." Maverick said which caused Storm to grumble in frustration then Maverick got a lock on Rooster.

"That's a kill." Maverick said. "Damn it." Rooster said in frustration. "Same old Rooster." Hangman said and Storm shook her head. "Go see Hondo about your push ups." Maverick said. "Storm you can go." Maverick said. "I was going regardless. Have fun." Storm said to Hangman as she flew back to base with Rooster.

"Alright that's enough." Hondo said to Rooster but Rooster ignored him. "Rooster, that's enough man." Hondo said again but once again Rooster kept going, Which Hondo just walked off.

Rooster had finished up his push ups when Phoenix approached him. "Breaking the hard deck, insubordination, are you trying to get kicked out?" Phoenix questioned. "Don't worry about it." Rooster assured her. "Look I'm going on this mission, I know Storm is too, but if you get kicked out, you leave her and the rest of us flying with Hangman... talk to me, what the hell was that?" She questioned him. "He pulled my papers." Rooster said to her.

"What...who?" She questioned. "Maverick... He pulled my application for the navy academy... set me back four years." Rooster replied. "Why would he do that?" Phoenix asked. Rooster didn't answer her.

"Storm, was in the break room, she was crying when she got in there, I believe she is sitting in your Bronco." Phoenix said and Rooster sighed. "I scared the shit out of her." Rooster said. "So her mom..." Phoenix said. "Knows Maverick, yes." Rooster said. "Sounds like she kept his ass in line or mostly likely out of trouble." Phoenix said and Rooster stayed silent. " And to think she's going to be your mother in law, one day. You know how lucky you will be, badass mother in law in fact. Goodness I look up to her." Phoenix said. Rooster smiled a bit then sighed. "Her mother went through a lot during her days at Top Gun." Rooster said, He remember listening to Ace talked about her experiences before and during Top Gun.

"She opened a huge opportunity for us women, like I tell Storm, for that I am appreciative." Phoenix said. Rooster sighed. "You better go talk to her." Phoenix said as she patted him on the shoulder.

Lindsey stared beyond the horizon and she heard the door opened. She looked over to see her boyfriend. "Darling, I am sorry about today." He said as he grabbed onto her hand and squeezed it. She sighed. "You both scared the shit outta me, Bradley." Lindsey said as her voice cracked. Bradley pulled her into a hug.

"I know and I am sorry." He said. She pulled away and held his face. "I know what he did was outta line, but you can't be taking it out on him in the field. Understand Bradshaw?" Lindsey said. He pressed a kiss onto her lips then pulled away.

"Now what can I do to make it up to you?" Bradley said. Lindsey smirked. "I think got something in mind, Honey." Lindsey responded which made him smile at her.
