Chapter 1

"I don't care Naruto! You're being very fucking annoying and I want you to leave!" Sasuke was yelling at the blond as he stomped towards the front door of his home.

"You're not even LISTENING to me Sasuke!" Naruto was protesting, refusing to leave until Sasuke had at least heard what he had to say.

"This is why no one really wants to ever talk to you! I don't have time for your jokes!"

"Wh-what do you mean by that" the blond's voice could barely be heard as the words thrown at him, sank in.

"Exactly what I said. No one really wants to talk to or be friends with you. You're annoying and don't know when to shut the hell up" Sasuke was spitting words at Naruto that he knew would hurt.

"You don't mean that.."

"Dude, ask anyone. Does anyone ever want to hang out with you? Do you ever get invited places that I'm not going to?" Sasuke crossed his arms, staring intently at the blond boy.

Naruto didn't say anything. He stood across from Sasuke, eyes at the ground. He didn't want to believe what Sasuke said was true, but the more he thought about it, the more he realized Sasuke was right. No one wanted to be his friend.

"Then why-"

Sasuke cut him off. "Because I felt bad for you. There is nothing more to it." Sasuke opened the front door and motioned for the blond to leave.

Without another word, Naruto walked through the open front door and down the steps towards the dark road. He never looked at Sasuke when he left and Sasuke slammed the door shut behind him as he walked out.

This wasn't the first time they had an argument. They were close friends and argued all the time. But they never had a fight like this. Naruto was left feeling unwanted and lonely. He always had a feeling that people were only nice to him because of Sasuke, but he didn't want to believe it. Now the blonde had nothing left. Even his one genuine friendship, turned out to not be genuine.

Naruto had no family. No one that cared about him. He lived alone but always felt out of place. He never really had somewhere he called "home". He never had someone he could rely on in his life. He's been alone for as long as he could possibly remember.

Until he met Sasuke.

But none of that mattered anymore. Sasuke didn't matter anymore. Naruto was alone again and it was a reality he had to live with. Sasuke said it himself, he pitied Naruto and that's the only reason they were friends.

Dejected, hurt, and lost in his own thoughts he continued walking. Unfortunately for Naruto, he was so caught up in his own thoughts, he wasn't paying attention to where he was going. The last thing he heard was a frantic honking before the squealing of tires. He couldn't even look up before everything went black.

Back at the Uchiha household, Sasuke was slouched on the couch, angrily flipping through TV channels.

"You're going to break the remote.." Itachi was leaned against the doorway of the living room, watching his little brother.

"Piss off." Sasuke mumbled as he continued to aggressively mash the buttons on the remote.

"What did you two fight about now?"

"I don't know what you're talking about Itachi." Sasuke grumbled, trying to ignore his elder brother.

"You're only this angry when you two fight. I know you better than you think I do Sasuke."

Sasuke huffed and tossed the remote on the table. He leaned forward and covered his face with his hands, yelling into them. "He's just so ANNOYING sometimes! It's like he doesn't know when to shut up."

Itachi came over and sat on the couch next to Sasuke. He leaned back, propping himself up on the arm of the couch with his arm.

"I don't even remember what he was trying to tell me, but he just.. ugh!" Sasuke threw his hands in the air and flopped back on the couch.

"I was just so annoyed and wanted some peace a quiet. It wasn't the best day and I took it out on him.." The guilt finally hit Sasuke as he realized the harsh words he had thrown at his friend.

"Well the first step would be to apologize. I know Naruto. That's all he wants to hear" Itachi was attempting to comfort his younger brother as he knew how important Naruto was, even if Sasuke didn't realize himself.

"I don't know if he will forgive me this time. I said some pretty cruel things to him" Sasuke closed his eyes and frowned as he recalled the argument. "I basically told him that no one likes him and I was only friends with him because he was pathetic. OW!" The younger brother grabbed the back of his head, where he had just been smacked.

"That's a lie and you know it!" Itachi had smacked Sasuke in the back of the head, not holding back like he usually does. He was actually upset with Sasuke. He stood up and crossed his arms, glaring at his now cowering little brother.

"You need to apologize. You're lucky I don't toss YOU out of the house right now. You know Naruto better than anyone. I don't care how annoyed you were, you crossed a line Sasuke Uchiha." Itachi grabbed the remote and turned off the TV.

"Go to your room. I can't deal with you right now" Itachi stomped into the kitchen.

Sasuke looked towards his brother in disbelief. He had never seen Itachi react that way about anything. Sure, Itachi saw Naruto as a little brother also, but Sasuke couldn't understand why Itachi was so pissed at him.

Sasuke went up to his room as he was told. He shut the door behind him and flopped on his bed. 'What do I even say to the dobe?'

Sighing, he reached for his phone and hovered over the blond's number. Taking a deep breath, he proceeded to call. Instantly, it went to voicemail.

Sasuke frowned as Naruto's phone was never off. Especially when they were fighting. They usually cooled down after a couple hours and talked about it later. Sasuke tried to call again- instantly to voicemail.

Realizing the impact of the words he threw at his friend, he couldn't blame him for shutting off his phone. He probably needed some space. Sasuke decided he would talk to the blond tomorrow at school and apologize for being so cruel. Especially since he knew none of it was true.
