Prologue

Yuta

Junk Shop Aya

I slowly opened my eyes and looked to see Utsumi and Rikka in front of me. I looked around and saw that I was in Rikka's Junk Shop.

"Oh, you're finally awake, Yuta."

"Ohayou..."

"Hibiki-kun, are you feeling alright?" Rikka asked.

I placed my hand over my head. "Not really. My head hurts and..." I paused. "I...don't remember anything..."

"Yuta, you-"

I panicked. "I can't remember anything! What have I been doing? Matte, how did I even get here?"

"Um...Yuta..."

"Why can't I remember anything?!"

"Hibiki-kun!"

"Huh?"

"Calm down, alright? Take a breath or something."

I stared at her and did so. "Alright. I...may need a minute or two."

After a while, I calmed down.

"You good now?" Utsumi asked.

"Yeah...a little..."

"After Gridman left, I was hoping this didn't happen..."

"Who?"

They looked at each other, then back at me. "You don't really remember anything, do you?"

"No...I don't. Everything's so blurry..."

"Gomen, Hibiki-kun."

"It's not your fault, Rikka." I groaned in pain. "I just wish I knew something..."

"We were about to tell you."

"What?! You know something?! Tell me!"

"Alright alright. But...there's a chance you may not believe us."

"Eh?"

"Some really strange things happened when you were...gone. We don't want you to freak out or anything."

I stared at them and clenched my fists. "If it means I'll know something about what happened to me, I don't really care how crazy it is."

Rikka and Utsumi looked at each other and then back at me. "Well...here goes."

They told me about how Gridman possessed my body, how he and I fought together, and how Shinjo was a God who ruled our city along with an alien and multiple kaijus.

"So, do you remember anything now?" Rikka asked.

I gave them a nervous smile. "No, not really. To be honest, that story kind of confused me." Utsumi and Rikka sighed. "Although...now that I think about it...Gridman..."

I grunted and placed my hand over my face again. I remembered and began to have faint glimpses of a face.

"Hibiki-kun!"

I lowered my hand and groaned. "I'm fine..."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah...I'm fine..."

Utsumi crossed his arms. "Alright then. Do you remember anything before?"

I thought about it, then I nodded. "I remember my parents, my life, school, and...the two of you."

"I see. I suppose that's good."

I grunted again and placed my hand over my face. Dammit. My head...hurts...!

Memories began to flash before me and I remembered how the three of us got together.

"Oi, Yuta! Are you sure you're alright?"

"Yeah..." I thought about the memory. "We...fought alongside each other. We were-"

"The Gridman Alliance."

I looked at Utsumi, then back at myself. "Kaijus...Shinjo-san...Gridman..." I groaned in pain again. "Why is everything so confusing...?"

"You'll get used to it. Trust me."

I looked at both of them. "Utsumi, Rikka, arigatou. For...taking care of me."

Rikka giggled nervously. "I wouldn't say this was the first time though..."

"I-I see..." I looked outside. "It's snowing..."

"It happened right after Shinjo left our world; I guess now that she's gone, we're having snow now."

"I see. Shinjo left..."

"Gods have a world of their own," said Rikka. "Maybe...one day...we'll meet again."

I slowly stood up and looked at the snow falling down. "It seems like I have a lot of catching up to do."

"Yeah, you do. There's some important things you need to know about, especially..." Utsumi coughs and points at Rikka.

I was confused for a moment, then I suddenly thought about the worst. "M-Matte, Utsumi, what happened?"

"Let's just not...get back on that topic..."

"What topic?!"

"Come on, Rikka. This is probably the best way he'll remember."

"Do you have any idea how amnesia works?!"

"Matte matte matte, what are you guys talking about?! Did I say something while I was unconscious?"

"Well...technically you didn't say it, but..."

"What did I say?!"

"N-Nothing..." Rikka said in a nervous voice.

They're acting so strange...! Matte, don't tell me. I blushed. Oh god, tell me I didn't say what I think I said!

"Worth a try..." Utsumi sighed. "Anyways, there's nothing else you really need to worry about besides that."

"O-Oh...alright..."

"Hibiki-kun, it sounds like you need some time to process all of this."

"Yeah, I think I'm going to need time. A lot of time..." What happened when I was gone...?!

"Well, it's good to have you back, Yuta."

"I'm glad you're okay now, Hibiki-kun."

"Rikka...Utsumi..." I gave a weak smile. "Arigatou."

"If you need anything, ask us. After all, we're the Gridman Alliance!"

"That's still a lame name..." Rikka said.

"No it is not!" Utsumi argued.

I looked at them and gave a weak laugh. Seems like they argue a lot...

Utsumi sighed. "Now that Yuta's awake, I guess I better get going. I have a feeling that it's going to snow quite a lot."

"I see. See you tomorrow then, Utsumi." He nodded and waved goodbye.

I turned around and saw an empty space that seemed familiar. This is...

"Hibiki-kun, are you still going to stay?" Rikka asked.

"N-No, I think I'll be leaving now."

She stares at me. "You do remember where you live, right?"

I thought about it for a minute, then I nodded. "It should still be the same place...right...?"

She sighed. "Well, mata ashita, Hibiki-kun."

"O-Oh, mata ashita, Rikka." I glanced at the empty space one last time, then I left.

The Gridman Alliance...our group. Even though I don't remember anything, I hope that the three of us can stay together like this.

???

Tsutsujidai; one year later...

I stand on the rooftop of a building and look at the city below. I could see people walking and talking with each other, each one smiling and making a face that made the other laugh.

This is the world. The world that she created...the world my sister created.

I ran my fingers through my long hair, then I squinted my eyes and I looked to see a boy with blue eyes and red hair. That boy...he seems...special, and strong. He kind of reminds me of someone Nee-san once liked...

I looked at the people around him and saw some people that also seemed special. One was a boy with blue eyes and glasses, along with teal hair. Another was a girl with blue eyes as well and she had glossy black hair; she was talking and hanging out with two of her friends.

Nee-san told me how three people helped a giant hero take her down when she was living here. Was it you three...? I stared at them for a while. Yeah...no doubt about it...

I gazed at the city and looked around; it operated like a city in my world. Cars moved in and out of the city, shops were open and selling items to people, and there were schools where students and teachers went to.

It's because of you that she's so attached to this place. That she left... I clenched my fists and glared at the city. Why...? Why did you leave for this pathetic world...? This...fake world...?

I looked back at the three of them and saw them walk into the school. The girl waved goodbye to her friends and went to class; the boy with glasses hung around with one of the girl's friends; and the boy with red hair sat in his class, gazing at the skies.

Blood boiled within me and rushed through my head; I could hear my heart beat beating faster as I got more pissed and my hands became sore from me clenching them so tight.

I don't get it. What makes this place, this world so special from ours? Why did you leave me?!

I paused for a moment and panted, then I unclenched my hands and slowly calmed down.

I turned around and grunted. "No matter. I'll just get rid of everything." I grabbed a figure on the ground. "And I'll use the things you love so much to do it."

Besides the one I had in my hand, I brought other figures with me. The kaiju figures were different from each other; some were made by my sister, while the rest were made by me.

Suddenly, a red light appeared behind me and I turned.

What's that...?

A kaiju rose from the ground and roared. The people screamed and buildings fell to the ground as it rampaged around, destroying everything.

A kaiju?

Then, a giant red mechanical kaiju suddenly appeared in front of it and roared.

Another one...? I sensed something. I see. Kaijus can appear without me or Nee-san. I smiled. In that case, I don't have to use any of my powers yet. I placed the figure down. I suppose I'll watch them for now. I'll bring my own kaijus out later.

After some time...

The kaijus had destroyed the entire city, and everything around burned in flames. I could hear the echoing screams, the trickle of blood flowing through the ground, and the noise of rubble crashing down. The bodies of Dynazenon, Gridknight, and their allies laid on the earth, beaten up and injured, unable to move.

I chuckled. "I've done it. I've finally done it." I looked into the sky and smiled. "Can you see me now, Nee-san?" I chuckled, then began to laugh. "Hahahahaha!!!"

Suddenly, I saw a red light in the dark sky and stopped. I squinted my eyes to look at it and it came closer and closer towards the city, then it hit the ground and disappeared.

What was that...?

"AAHH!!!" Someone shouted in a loud and angry voice, then I saw a figure rise from the ground.

"Oh, it's the hero, Gridman."

The kaijus turned their attention to the giant and roared; they all charged towards him and shot their attacks.

I chuckled. How stupid. Gridman came back just to get hurt again.

Gridman lifts his right hand up and clenches his fist. Suddenly, the kaijus stood still and their attacks disappeared.

"Huh? What happened?"

The kaijus roared into the sky and cracks began to form around their body; they emitted a red light and they were falling apart. Suddenly, they all exploded one by one, and it was almost like watching a firework show.

I gasped. "My kaijus..." Gridman lowered his hand down and I stared at him. How...? How can he be this strong? He wasn't able to do this before...! I grunted, then I grabbed more of my figures. "Come!"

The kaiju figures glowed, then kaijus rose from the ground and roared. They charged towards Gridman and he glared at them.

"Haah...!" He charged his energy and a dark-red light formed around his arms. "Hmph!" He shoots an energy beam at the kaijus and destroys them.

I grabbed the edge of the rooftop and stared at Gridman. "No...this...can't be happening..."

"Hmph!" Gridman jumped into the air and came down, striking a kaiju with his energy saber. "Haah!" The kaiju explodes and he continues onto the next one.

So fast! So strong! So precise! So...

"HAAH!!!" I heard an angry shout and Gridman grabs a kaiju's head, then slams it into the ground. He punches it, over and over again, until I saw the insides of the kaiju's head spew out.

So...violent...

After a few more hits, Gridman finally stopped and I looked at the kaiju. Its head was beaten to a pulp and it twitched, but did not get up.

No...! I was supposed to win, I was supposed to make Nee-san finally notice me...

After all the kaijus were destroyed, Gridman moved his arms and shot an energy beam towards the city. Sparks flew around and repaired the damages done, some even healing the injuries of his friends.

That beam...

Once they were healed, they disappeared and Gridman continued repairing everything. Then, all of a sudden, the bright white sparks turned dark-red and black.

These sparks flew around and began changing everything in the city. The buildings were reconstructed and shined bright; and the people he healed began to shout and cheer for him.

"Gridman!!!"

Something on the ground moved and I looked at it. Dark sparks were flying into the dead bodies of the people I killed and they twitched. Their eyes opened wide, their arms and legs moved, and they took a single breath of fresh air.

How...? How is this possible?!

They all stood up and joined everyone else in cheering him. "Gridman!!!"

I came to Nee-san's world, just to destroy it and yet...I failed. I clenched my fists and looked down. No matter what I do...I fail. No matter how much I try to be better than Akane-neesan, I always fail!

I grunted, then I looked up and saw Gridman, standing in front of me, staring at me menacingly.

I gasped and stared into his eyes as he stared into mine. Gridman...

His eyes suddenly glowed red and I closed my eyes, quickly trying to escape from this nightmare.

This world...is broken...
