dagger stepped out from the taxi and took a deep breath, smiling. she was pretty jet lagged, since new york is three hours ahead of california but she didn't mind.

she stretched and came up to the door, lightly knocking.

they opened up immediately and she saw a tall man. he had a lazily grown bristle on his beard and cheeks. his brown hair was also messy, they looked like he just got up (being totally honest, it was true). his green eyes sparkled up with joy from behind of his newly bought glasses.

"ZEE!" he grinned and in one second she was trapped in his tight, bear hug.

"dad!" she smiled and pressed her cheek onto his shirt with creeper on it.

"come inside, zee. tea? coffee? iced coffee? orange juice?" he asked and placed his hands on her arms, looking at her face "you haven't visited me in a almost half a year, bubs. why is that? is it because i won at the mario kart last time–?"

she snorted and shook her head.

"you wish. i just wanted to give you time to train before i crush you today, duh" she smiled lazily and came inside, taking off her shoes. "and of course i want some coffee, it's cold outside"

"is it? also in your favourite mug, right?" he rose and eyebrow and turned on the coffee machine. she nodded with a grin.

her dad leaned on the countertop and crossed his arms.

"tell me about him" he said with stoic voice.

"h-huh? who?" dagger frowned, looking at the pikachu's head shaped mug.

"zee, august told me everything" her dad rolled his eyes dramatically and started making the coffee.

"don't call me zee, first of all. i'm not six anymore" she mumbled "second of all, i'll block her number from your phone. literally"

"NO! she's my bestie" he pouted and dagger gasped dramatically

"what about me, father?!" the brunette pressed a hand to her heart as if she was deeply hurt

"in the order of men: my dog, me... everyone else, august and you" he smiled sweetly and dagger's mouth fell agape.

"my father is quoting tommyinnit. i'm leaving" she stood up from the chair and when her dad was about to protest, his australian shepherd ran up to her "hi baby!"

"zee...nerva... zeenerva... zeenelly... geenelly? please i need to know about the boy. i just need" her dad said and made a coffee for himself as well.

"why?" she asked, playing with the dog.

"so i can know dimensions for the coffin, duh" he chuckled and she turned around just to send him a death stare

"okay fine... but only if i lose in mario kart... and i won't" dagger smiled and stood up, rolling up her sleeves.

"mhm, sure. and i'm queen elizabeth" the older brunette gave her the mug with coffee and they came up to the couch with eevee, the dog, swinging her tail happily.
