Crash Landing

Chapter 1: Crash Landing

Lilly's POV

The whole TARDIS shook violently.

"What's happening!?" I shouted as the TARDIS shook again.

"There's something wrong with her!" my dad said, flipping some lever. Sparks flew from the console. "I'm going to try to land," he shouted. "Hold on!" I did as I was told and I grabbed a railing that was off to the side. My dad pulled a few more levers and turned some knobs. Then, there was a big jerk and was nearly thrown over the railing, then fell to the ground. Crash landings. My favourite. I got up and brushed off my knees. "Are you alright?" my dad asked, putting his hands on my shoulders. I nodded.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"I'm not sure," he said. He let go of my shoulders and headed towards the doors. I followed. "Wait here," he instructed. I did as I was told as he stepped out and shut the door.

After a few moments, I too, stepped out. I found my father crouched down, inspecting the ground. We were surrounded by trees. A twig snapped under my foot and he turned to face me.

"Lilly," he said, standing up. He start towards me. "I told you to stay in the TARDIS."

"I guess my curiosity got the best of me," I said. He did a little half smile and lifted his hand to my cheek.

"You remind me so much of your mother," he said "And," he said, taking his hand away from my cheek, "you are growing up to fast." I giggled as a huge smile spread across my face.

"Have you figured out where we are?" I asked after a few seconds. I walked over to a stump and sat down, facing the TARDIS.

"Somewhere in America," he said. "Around 2009. Although it could be 2008. I don't know exactly, somewhere in between 2007 and 2009."

"That's three different years Dad." Just then, a loud pop came from inside the TARDIS "You think you can fix it?" I asked, peering inside. I had left the door open.

Of course I can fix it," he said. He straightened his bowtie. "I'm the Doctor." I smiled as he headed back towards the TARDIS. Then, I got up and started walking. "And where do you think you're going?"

"I'm more. So I'm going on a walk," I answered.

"Can't you just draw in your sketchbook, or help me out or something?"

"I don't want to. I want to explore.

"Oh, alright," he said, "but don't wander off too far."

"I won't." And with that, I continued on my way.

After a few minutes of wondering through the woods, I heard a twig snap and this time, it wasn't me. I froze with terror.

"Hello?" I called out. Suddenly, two tall men came into view. I heaved a sigh of relief when I realized who they were. "Sam. Dean. It's just you."

"Who were you expecting?" Dean asked. "Bigfoot?"

I smiled. "Very funny I said. Dean smiled back. Sam did too.

"So," Dean said, "What brings you to this part of the woods?"

"We sort of just, crash-landed here," I explained. "You?"

"We think we might have a job," Dean answered.

"Really?"

"Yeah," Sam said, joining in on the conversation. "People have been disappearing up here. Campers, hikers, you name it."

"Can I ask you something?" Dean asked me.

"Shoot."

"Have many times have we... crossed paths."

"Umm... twice. No, no. Three times. I'm still a little fuzzy on the first."

"Ages?"

"Seven, nine, and nine-and-a-half."

"Okay," he said. "We've met you twice out of those three. You were seven and nine. So, we on the same page?"

"Hang on a sec," Sam said. He took a few steps towards me. "Lilly. How old are you now?"

"Twelve. Well, almost," I answered. The brothers looked at each other. "Would you mind telling me where we are?"

"Oh, yeah. Of course," Sam said. "West Virginia. The back woods."

"Do you know you're hunting?"

"Not yet," Dean said. "But whatever it is, we'll find it." He smiled. It quickly faded when we heard twigs snapping. At first I thought it was my dad. Until I realized the noise was coming from behind Sam and Dean.
